How do you make a movieclip move horizontally from the start of the stage to 3/4 of the stage. Stage size is 700 px by 600 px i want just one row in the middle of the stage. i want that movieclip to disappear right after it reach the end of the 3/4 mark.
I am trying to create an effect that when someone clicks a button it opens a movieclip. I want everything behind that movieclip to get dark so that the only option is to click on a button in the open movieclip.
I'm trying to make a movieclip push out from the center of the stage, but I'm having a problem with the math.I made an function, but it pushes out in a diamond shape.
Code: function newCords(newX:Number, newY:Number, distance){ var centerX = Stage.width/2; var centerY = Stage.height/2;[code].....
I would like to take a straight line/rectangle that is already created on stage and tween it with as3 so that when mouse is down, i can drag and bend it into an ark shape, and when i release the shape snaps back to its originally form?
I am making a site and have a component on the stage that is put there dynamicly through AS 2.0. When I F5 or Ctrl F5 it seems that the actionscript is read allover again?Only the script that is situated in the specific label. What if I have script in that label that creates a news reader. I f12 and the news reader is there I jump to another label with the menu. when i jump back to the home label the news reader does not appear on the stage. after a f5 or ctrl f5 it does.Do I have to attach the movieClip in each label to assure a the dynm-movieClip script is on stage for the ctrl f5 issue?
Right now my stage dimensions are 980 X 800 px. I need to cut or "crop out" the bottom portion of the footer because its height is too long. So I changed the stage dimensions to 980 X 600 px (and changed the corresponding dimensions in the embed tag in the index.html file to match). Doing this seems to cut out the bottom but at the same time adds space to the top and seems to distort the overall spacing. Is there a simple way to crop out the bottom of the stage (just like cropping out a section of a photo)?
I have a movieclip on the stage(lets call that selection movieclip) that once a button is clicked is going to open another movieclip(call this slideshow) I am trying to remove the selection movieclip when you launch the slideshow movieclip.

On the stage I have a movieclip called mc_back. I also have a movieclip on the stage called mc_content. Now, inside mc_content I have a bunch of code and some of it adds, or should add, an EventListener to mc_back as well as a a function that works when mc_back is pressed.
So basically, all code is written inside mc_content and some of it needs to interact with mc_back.
how to target mc_back from inside mc_content. Using stage.mc_back or root.mc_back doesn't work and Google should be my friend, but in this particular problem, it's acting more like my enemy.
How do you align a dynamic movie clip position with another movie clip which is in the root stage? I tried to get the mc in root x,y position, but the starting point of the class that loads the dynamic MC does not seems to be accurate. (Meaning at the root stage, the x,y is 0,0 but at the dynamic class, its somewhere like 100,20 for the browser area (and it actually vary base on the browser size))
**the other classes I used to run the custom classes below, I have it added this MC to stage
var blocker:stageBlocker=new stageBlocker(); this.stage.addChild(blocker);
Below is the dynamic MC. Should I not add it to its own "stage"?
public class stageBlocker extends MovieClip { private var blocker:MovieClip= new MovieClip(); public function stageBlocker():void {
I'm trying to make a movieclip move slower at a certent place in my movieclip. This means, that the speed needs to be lowered when e.g. showing af picture. Here is the situation. I have a movieclip running different pictures. E.g. the first runs for 115frames and fades out. Instead of runing 115 frames i want the movieclip to run 5 frames (picture fading in) and the stops or delays for 10sek and then goes to frame 6 from where the picture fades out. Where in the movieclip should i place this Action Script?
This may come across as beginner stuff: I'm working In ActionScript 3.0. I have a MovieClip called FloorStatusChanges and within it are two MovieClips called Floors and StatusChanges.The MC called Floors contains Three wireframe-looking floors(each floor has it's own MC).The MC called StatusChanges contains three buttons that have the Instance Names of FirstFloorButton, SecondFloorButton, and ThirdFloorButton.Within the FloorStatusChanges MC, I've set up a motion tween for these wireframe-looking floors to move into and out of the stage so that upon clicking one of the buttons in StatusChanges it would, in theory, cause this motion tween to happen. It has stop(); commands between every motion:Within the StatusChanges MC, there are 4 layers. 3 are for each button consecutively and 1 for the Actionscript. This is how they look:Here's the set of actions I've given for the first frame:
ActionScript Code: SecondFloorButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, SecondFloorSelect); function SecondFloorSelect(e:Event){
I want to be able to have my ketchup cursor and click on the buns and the buns go to the ketchup frame and vice versa with the mustard, but if the ketchup is already on then it would go to the frame with both mustard and ketchup.I would post my code but I dont really have much to post except the basic eventlistener function. I have googled it a million times and cant seem to find what im looking for.
What is the code to make a movie clip button....when pressed...open or plays another movieclip...example.i have a button..and its a movie clip with roll over and rollout effect..once pressed...how do i make it link to an outside movieclip.
I am trying to make a reference to a movieclip instance that is in another movieclip.
Here's the deal: I have a main timeline for different pages of a website...then within that I make all of the art on each page into a movieclip so I can do animations every time that main timeline frame is called to, yet still keep my main timeline clean.
Within one page's movieclip I have a few buttons that I want to use to go to other pages by referencing them on the main timeline.I have been using this: (home_about is the about us button on my home page, and frame 31 is on the main timeline).
home_about.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToGoToAndPlayFromFrame_6); function fl_ClickToGoToAndPlayFromFrame_6(event:MouseEvent) :void {[code].............
Since this home_about is within another movieclip,I get the access of undefined property error. Do I need to change the code I've pasted above or add in variable definitions to fix this?
I have a Movieclip on stage with nested movieclips inside. All referenced at 0,0. None of the child movieclips load any dynamic content, animate or have Masked Layers. It does have an input textfield in one of the child MCs. The parent MC shows 280 px width, while it returns 313 px with a .width trace. There is no code that alters the .width value of the parent MC at run-time. And the ParentMC on stage is not scaled (it is at 100% width/height)
have a list of info; each topic needs to clear the last bit and put a new bit of info corresponding to that topic on the stage. I'm working with Flash CS4 and AS 3.0 on a Mac and I don't want just code snippets like other message boards.
Im am trying to make boundaries on my stage for my MC box1_mc, there are no errors but it doesnt seem to work.. Here is the code..
function limitStageBorder(box1_mc) { var box1_x:Number = stage.stageWidth - box1_mc.width; var box1_y:Number = stage.stageHeight - box1_mc.height;[code]......
Ive got my dancing fruit sorted, however when I save the file as an animated gif and put it in my application the gif has the stage background. If it wasnt animated I could edit the back ground in photo shop, but I dont seem to be able to with the animated file. Is there anyway I can just have my dancing fruit with out the stage?
