ActionScript 2.0 :: Centering A Photo That Is Resizeable In Fullscreen?
Sep 24, 2009
I am having a problem centering a photo that is resizeable in fullscreen. Meaning it adapts to your monitor size. How would I keep the aspect ratio? I would not mind having black bars at the top and bottom as well.
Example is like this here:
[URL]
It may look fine if you have a normal monitor but if you have a widescreen the photo is distorted. The photo is saved as a movieclip.
i have both vertical and horizontal pictures... The horizontal pictures work great! But what code and where would I add it if I wanted to tell Flash to center the vertical photos in the large gallery.
So I am working on a full screen website, and background_mc I want to be centered and scaled 100% to the stage. But I also do not want the image to loose it's proportions. Here is my code so far, it is only seeming to center the movieclip:
I am using the kirupa xml foto gallery and I am loading different sized images... if they would load nicely centered the problem is solved... (not to stage width/height..!!) The movieclip "picture" has to load the images centered from its own registration point so that it can be placed anywhere on the stage.... now its loads the images from aka left top...
I've been going through the tutorials and forum trying to build a photo slideshow. I managed to get the slideshow working with buttons, but am really stuck with trying to center the images ... I'm using portrait and lanscape images, and want them both to be vertically and horizontally centered in a 504x504 moive.
im loading photos of different aspect ratios with a loader onto a child holder frame_mc. I wanted to know what AS3 commands do i need to work on to get the frame_mc to resize to the new childs dimensions and centerize itself on the main stage? (as in event listeners, functions, vars etc)
Man I do hope adobe is going to add a simple resize area on the top corners of the AS window (or indeed any floating window)...at the moment, my AS window stretches down and off-screen for whatever reason and I find myself stuck trying to scale it back down. scrolling doesn't even work inside this floating window (on vista x64)A workaround (if you can call it that), I've noticed from *having* to play around (while I should have been working) to try and get the window back to a normal workable/visable size.)Right-click on the floating window (tab) in question and "Collapse to Icons", then click that specific icon to open the window to a managable size.Adobe, please add the resize to the top left, right or both of floating windows.
I have made a resizeable box that you can resize using handles on all four cornersI have tl (top left handle), tr (top right handle), bl (bottom left handle) and br (bottom right handle)Its rather difficult to explain. See the picture attached, the blue arrows are where the mouse could move and the green arrows are where the boxes should goor now let's concentrate on moving the tl handle so that when it is moved left or downwards it gets smaller, towards the br handle
I'm having a big of a problem, basically when I'm loading an external SWF file, I place in the stage the preloader, I have three symbols for the preloader, the loadbar, that loads across the stage, a circle animation, and a dynamic text that shows the description what is loading. Well when the preloader comes to the displayList, the dynamic text seems to fly off the stage, but when I do a trace statement of the x and y value of the text, it shows 413, but it still goes off the stage. I'm not sure exactly why I'm getting this. The dynamic text is embedded inside a movieclip, and I move the x/y value of the movie clip.
I like to make a fullscreen desktop application, with an FLV, using the FLV Playback component. However, Id like there to be a Fullscreen button on the playback component, which will allow the user to toggle the video fullscreen.I cant, for the life of me, figure out how to do this with various settingsit should be easy! This is what I have--is there a better way to do things (without a custom movie player)? My inital settings are as follows:
its for a photo gallery that I downlowded, the images fades in and out, but only start that when you click a button(timer).I'm trying to founf out where in the script I can change this, so that the photo's start automatically, rather than, on a button click.I have pasted the script below, is that ok, or would people rather a zip file of the files?

I have a swf inside a html page. If I open it with IE or FF and put it into full screen I can exit full screen with the ESC button. Now if i try this with my WinForms app and WebBrowser (or ShockWave Flash Object) it's not working??
What I've done is created a "fullscreen SWF" by using ActionScript to stretch a movie clip (yellow rectangle) in the background to fill the whole browser frame. The navigation is positioned in the upper left using ActionScript also; when the user resizes the window, positions are adjusted so the nav always stays in the upper left. (Adapting the technique from http:[url]....
External SWFs are loaded from an XML file into a blank movie clip on a layer that is between the yellow background and the navigation (adapting the kirupa XML Photo Gallery). Here's my problem: I want to be able to create full screen backgrounds for these external SWFs so when they are loaded into the main SWF they cover up all the of yellow background of the main clip. Also if the user resizes the window, I hope like the main SWF, the background on the external SWF can also resize to match.
If you press next twice to get to item three for example, I want to be able to stretch that orange box to fill the entire background. You'll notice if you resize the window on the third item, the orangle rectangle will adjust, it's just not correct.
Are there any examples of Flash + Javascript libraries which allow you to display a variable-sized Flash movie in your page that captures Webcam snapshots (still frames), and submits them to your server in a JPEG format?
I have an XML photo gallery, that when it starts it has a loader for the photos. It always starts with the XML file determined sequence, which is fine, but what happens is that the tabs on the right hand side of the photo loader go astray while it is loading the first photo. If the first photo was loaded instantly this wouldnt be an issue. Is there a way that I can preload that first photo, so that it is in memory when the swf file reads the XML file, allowing the first photo to be instantly loaded ?Amongst other things, I tried embedding the photo in the swf file, but it didnt work...obviously I have no idea what to script...I also created another scene, prior to the main scene, to preload the photo.. but it didnt work either, again probably used useless script...Going further in detail, this is the main script:
I have been searching for a particular photo gallery, and haven't got far. Here is an example of what I am looking for. With the example I wanting the user to be able to click on a photo for it to appear in the box above. I am looking for a tutorial, so I can customise to fit in my client's flash website.
I'm making a flash site, and i want it to load full browser with a "fullscreen"-button to go fullscreen. The problem, however, if i resize, the site will keep the same width-to-height ratio...But if i'm testing it using the flash debugger, everything resizes just correct...My html:
HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">[code]......
When I open a new document in flash, the stage is in the top left corner of my screen and I cannot figure how to center it in the middle. I cannot go to the left or above the stage which is making it very difficult to work with as I cannot access those areas.
I have used the centering pop up technique, but my problem lies with the boreders. I'm using the pop ups for jpgs, but it seems to have a bit of a boreder at the top and the left of the image, how can I get rid of this. I used the tut on this site for centered popups. an example of my problem is on my site at [URL]..
I have a movieClip that starts out a a specific scale. I then tween the images properties and as it tweens it also scales again. What I'm trying to do as it tweens and scales its obviously changes the width and height of the movieClip. So I'm trying to constantly keep the clips position in the center of the stage.
I'm using tweenMax and I tired an update event so I could keep checking the width and height of the clip as it scales and then using this code to center it but it doesn't seem to be centering the image. On other thing to note is my MovieClip is using its top left corner as the registration point.
I've come across a new snag to a previous project. I'm not quite sure why, but when the full image is loaded to the stage, it is not centering it properly. The trace of fullLoader returns "0" for the width and height of the full-sized image, and I'm not quite sure how to pass the necessary information into the showPicture function so that it correctly centers the image. I tried tracing the content of fullLoader and got an error message.[code]
I have a movieclip on the stage which has the dimensions 400x400.I currently load images, and add them to this component. Each image is a different size. At this moment in time, they are placed at position 0,0 within the movieclip container. Some of the code looks like
var data:XML; var total:Number; var url_list = new Array();[code]....
Is there anyway I could get the loaded images placed at the center of the movieclip container.I dont know if I have to do something like subtract the images width and height from the containers width and height, and then divide by 2?
- How can I center my main SWF inside the browser without stretching the the swf? I just want it to be center both horizontal and vertical when you resize the browser.
- I found some tutorials but it is only referring to just ONE movieclip. What if I want to center the whole stage? Is there any other way to call the stage that has content in it?
