ActionScript 2.0 :: Mouse Clicks And Page Flips - Don't Run The Code On The Individual Pages

Apr 29, 2009

I am doing an animation using a parigrafika's page flip code. I have different pages being autoflipped at different speeds: Main timeline:

[Code]...

What I need to happen is if the user has ever clicked the mouse during the animation, don't run the code on the individual pages. How I have it now, it still executes when it gets to page 1,2, or 10.

Flash :: Coverflow That Flips By Mouse Location?

Aug 27, 2010

I am trying to find a menu to implement in the form of a coverflow. I have one accessible but flipping through the covers requires that I click covers, or use the scroll bar.

I am looking for one that will move left and right without requiring clicking. Dragging is probably acceptable. I have been sifting through the google search results, but it seems most coverflows are modeled the same. It doesn't need to be free, but if I could customize it via XML that'd be great.

My question: is there a way to disable mouse clicks to the walls and character while allowing clicks to the floor? Using mouseChildren appears to be an all or nothing deal and I can't seem to isolate individual floor/wall/character objects for use with mouseEnabled.

Flex :: Pages With Flash Won't Load Until User Clicks The X (stop) Button On IE

Dec 1, 2009

I am building a flash application using flex. From time to time, I see an issue in IE 7 and 8 where the user logs into the site and the browser content pane is completely grey and the entire page (html, javascript and flash) won't load until the user clicks the X (Stop) button next the address bar. As soon as the X is clicked, the html loads and then the swf file loads immediately.

This doesn't happen for me or any other developers on the project so it is very hard to diagnose. The users are all using the latest flash player. The only difference between our setups that I can think of is that we have the debug version of flash player and they probably do not.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Streamlining The Code For The Button Group With Individual Links And Rollover Images?

Dec 2, 2011

I know I can make an array if all the buttons would have a unified code executable change, i.e. they would become larger and brighter.
My problem is that each button represents an product image in the lights off stage, then of rollover it is a lights on stage so I have to import two images in the on and off stage and play around with the opacity.Additional problem is that each button has to ling to a different label.

My question is: is it possible to unify the code if buttons have that much individuality or I have to make each one of them as in the example below.

// makes a hand cursor appear over a mc acting as a button for all the buttons inside the scrollpnaeBckgrnd_mc.scrollpaneBckgrnd_btns_mc.
MovieClip(mc_pane2.content).scrollpaneBckgrnd_mc.scrollpaneBckgrnd_btn s_mc.buttonMode = true;
MovieClip(mc_pane2.content).scrollpaneBckgrnd_mc.scrollpaneBckgrnd_btn s_mc.useHandCursor = true;

ActionScript 2.0 :: Detecting Mouse Clicks?

Mar 27, 2007

i have some movie clips on the stage and the background of these movie clips are, of course, the stage. now, i need to detect a click on any area of the background(the stage) to do something to the movieclips above it.What I did is, I laid a movieclip which has the same size as the stage, above the Stage and below the other movieclips. I then set this movieclip to visible = false. Next, I thought I could use onMouseDown to get the clicks but unfortunately, it isn't working because onMouseDown detects the click on anywhere I click.I am not using onPress because I don't want to have the hand cursor appearing on the entire flash movie.

Actionscript 3 :: Android - Attach Mouse Event Listeners To The Stage Or To Individual Sprites?

Aug 16, 2011

In AS3 on Android is it bad from a performance perspective to attach mouse event listeners to individual sprites rather than to the stage? I am writing an app for an Android phone using AS3 in Flash Builder. The app has multiple screens that respond to user touch. The screens are arranged in a hierarchy and show list data so that when you click on an item in a list you are presented with a new screen with a new sub list on it.

I have been using an event listener to detect mouse / touch input and based on something I read that indicated that performance is much better if you keep the number of objects you are listening to to a minimum I have attached the mouse listeners from each screen to the stage object.

This all works fine but I am finding that as I move between screens (and they get popped or pushed onto the dislay stack) I have to keep track of alot of adding and removing listeners to the stage object. If I don't then windows higher up the hierarchy than the current screen keep receiving mouse events.

If I used listeners attached to sprites in each window then when the window was removed from the display even though it is kept in memory (ready to be popped back when a child window is closed) it won't receive any mouse events....

Performance doesn't seem to be impacted using listeners directly on sprites when using my HTC phone to test with, however I obviously don't know what it will be like on other phones. Does anyone have any experience either way or a view on the best approach?
