I've been having trouble with bitmaps for some time now, haven't been able to get them to be visible on the screen. The purpose for this bitmap would eventually be blitting, if I only could get it to work. Here's my code this far[code]...
I have an issue with Bitmap object. I have a photo gallery which I read from an XML file. Each photo has a path, id and description. When I'm adding the picture to the screen I am doing as follows:
[Code]...
My problem is that when I click the bitmap added to the container I must know what picture this is by getting an id. This way I know what gallery I am to open. A bitmap object does not have this property to be set (id and path). I have decided to create a class which extends Bitmap and then add these attributes within this class. So instead of using a bitmap I would use something like:
Basically, I have a BitmapData object which is acting as a virtual screen.
I have a MovieClip which I want to render to the bitmap using the same transformation as though the bitmap were the screen. However, the MovieClip is not attached directly to the root
The BitmapData.draw() method takes a Matrix as an optional parameter, which I think I need to set as the MovieClip's localToGlobal transformation matrix. However, I don't know how to obtain or construct this!
Got round to the point where screen grabbing an image and saving it to file is too much, so what i want to do now, is take a snapshot of a live webcam image (I have webcam display working) and display the snapshot/screen grab, next to it or anywhere in the movie. This way the screen capture can be stored temporarily in the movie. once the movie is closed, all info is lost. Once another screen grab is taken, then the previous one is overwritten. The idea is simple but having problems working out how to do it in AS3!
I have got to the idea that i may need to use the Bitmap API to copy a section of the movie, and then redraw it into a new bitmap object?
I'm cutting my teeth in actionscript 3 on a game that has a character running through a world. So, I have set up my Hit Testing by using the bitmap data hit test method, since I figured my world is going to be destructible - it'd be nice to update the level and then redraw it and have the character interact with the new change. (That works beautifully) I am however; a bit confused as to how I have my hit Testing set up. I've been messing around with it, and it works for now - but I'm not sure why.. currently, I have a character set up by using a class I built and using a series of animations I created. So, this character has a walking and falling animation, etc. This is a movie clip.
Then there's a bitmap 'emptyBitmap' with bitmap data created - however; I never really added this as a child to the character. This is sized to the dimensions of my character. My level is created as a movielip, then it's drawn to a bitmap - when the level movieclip is changed, the bitmap redraws, and that's how this updates.
I know the topic of "duplicating" movieclips is a hot issue with the new virtual machine. Luckily, I understand the implications. I only am [currently] interested in duplicating a Bitmap. See, I load an image from an URL using 'flash.display.Loader.load', which is a non-blocking operation in Flash Player.However,I may use multiple copies of the loaded image (which is reported to be a Bitmap, naturally) in the display list at the same time.Hence, I naturally do not want to load the image from an URL every time, because I don't want to wait for a non-blocking call to complete. Nor do I need to - I mean one copy is already loaded, so it should be possible to just "duplicate" it, right?
My idea is to do use the bitmapData property of a Bitmap and pass it to the constructor of a new Bitmap object. I have not tried the following in action, but I want to hear whether any of you did and if the following would not work, what would:
Code:
var original_bitmap: Bitmap; var copy_of_original_bitmap: Bitmap = new Bitmap(original_bitmap.bitmapData);
LiveDocs mention that the BitmapData being passed to a Bitmap constructor is "being referenced", which to me might suggest it cannot be used twice? There is also the BitmapData::clone() method, which I am not sure is applicable here or not.I know this is a lot of talk instead of just trying this out, but I test so much Flash Player code daily just to see "what works" (which should be documented instead by Adobe),
If I have a BitmapData that's already been drawn onto a Sprite. Is there a way to redraw the BitmapData onto a Sprites Graphics object without having to invoke beginBitmapFill and passing in the same BitmapData?
I'm working on a game, and to keep performance good, instead of addChild'ing 50 new sprites to the stage every second, I decided to have each player draw to their own bitmap, and then to the 'master' bitmap. This introduces an issue though: the second player would override all data the first player has put into to bitmap...My basic debugging proof of concept:
I have a bitmap which has several frames (packed along the horizontal axis). In order to render them I copy it to the backbuffer (larger bitmap) as follows:
Actionscript Code: public override function copyToBackBuffer(db:BitmapData):void{ if (active) var drawRect:Rectangle = new Rectangle((currentFrame-1) * frameWidth, 0, frameWidth,
In pure AS3, I have a pixelbender and a large bitmap. The pixelbender is configurable with a distance parameter to affect only a small area of the bitmap. The problem is that the pixelbender is executing over the whole bitmap. What would be the best way to update only the effected region of the bitmap? Given this config:
Is there a way to write a bitmap font right into the bitmap being desplayed? Mabey better worded: myBitmap.draw(image, t) draws a picture is there a way to draw text? I'm stuck even if its just a work around in some way I would like to know... (the current work around i have in my head is writing it in a movieclip turning that into bitmap data and drawing it... esentially creating a prototype answering my question... but a built in way would be easier probably).
In AS3, I am loading a png from a zip file (nochump's zip library through ByteArray to Loader). The png can be up to 45k pixels wide but only 120 tall. This creates a problem in flash, as images can only be ~8000 pixels wide. A possible solution would be to split the images into 6 columns somehow. This would probably need to be done in the ByteArray state, because the limitation is in Bitmap and Loader.
I'm using Sandy to animate some objects in 3D. What I currently do to images which are EXPORTED in the library, I want to do to some bitmaps that I create using the DRAW technique. But it wont work :-(
CODE FOR 'CREATED BITMAP' : ActionScript Code: var bData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(myObject.width,myObject.height); bData.draw(mask5);
[Code]....
Sandy doesn't seem to treat the 'created' bitmap the same as those that are exported from the library.
I haven't worked very much with bitmap manipulation and I need to create an app that can find a bitmap (or a pattern of pixels really) in another bitmap.Are there other methods of doing it besides iterating through the pixels and using getPixel()?I'm of course looking for the most effective solution.
i am a beginner in action script / flex framework and i am facing a problem: i would like to have like a menu bar always anchor the bottom of the screen in normal and full screen mode... i try to set my component with bottom = "1" (so it should alway be at 1 pixel from the bottom of the stage ... But .. NO :)
The problem that I'm facing is in regards to the width of a sliding menu that I've created. The menu slides based on mouse x position and width of the movie. I would like the menu to fit to the entire screen regardless of the users resolution. I wanted to know if there's a way to detect a users screen width and then adjust the variable for screen width within my actionscript .fla if necessary.
How can I make a action script controlled print screen that will save a part of a screen And can I filter a color out of it (so that only that one color will NOT be visible on the saved img) with AS
I want to make a box come from off screen then bounce back and forth and then come settled down in the middle of the screen. It can be random bouning intervels or a set amount.
I'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.
I'm making a side-scrolling game, with a (theoretically) infinite background. I have a block engine that places the blocks on the bitmap canvas. Now here's the catch. I'm using the bitmapData.scroll() function. Now unless I clear the screen each time the character moves, it's going to leave ghost images of the border of the screen, like this picture: zanzlanz. tumblr. com/post/18857712784 If I clear the screen each time, then it generates a lot of lag (because it has to repaint the objects again). I'm a bit lost on how I can scroll without leaving streaks of the side of the screen and without repainting the entire screen.
im making an application on the chicago bulls, its nearly finished but ive hit a problem i cant fix, when i try and move from the roster screen to any of the other screens the items on the roster screen stay visible and the script on the new screen doesnt work.URL...
I have an AIR application that will go full screen when the application starts: stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE; The stage size is 2560 x 1024. And I have 2 moniters (1280 x 1024 , 1280 x 1024) When I start the application, it shows my application on one of my moniter only.
I need the left side of the stage to be shown in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to be shown in moniter 2. Currently, both sides are shown in moniter 1, and in moniter 2, it shows nothing but my default desktop. *The blue color line is a divider for better visual purpose. How do I make the left side of the stage to appear in moniter 1 and right side of the stage to appear in moniter 2 when the application starts in full screen mode?
Is a command for AS2 to make my movie file play fullscreen (stretch, fit to screen, anything).
goFullScreen(); is great but it leaves white bars left and right. What's odd is that I'm using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and it seems to display a perfect widescreen that I want as an input and output but once compiled in flash, it's more square leaving me with white bars left and right. The frame for the video in flash is also widescreen looking.
edit: I ended up stretching the width of the frame but if there is a better way through a command that would make my life easier so I don't have to adjust to every monitor that I run this on.
It seems like the loading screen (more like frame) is the last thing to load, so you are stuck staring at a blank screen for a while. How can i prioritize how the game loads so that the instant you get on the page the loading screen comes up immediately?
I have a flash app that contains a lot of data. Part of it has a video. I want to have an option to expand just the video to full screen mode. I have this working now, however it scales it proportionally based on the size of my flash app. Instead of doing that, how can I expand it to be 100% of the screen width?
Code: function goFullScreen(base):void { if (stage.displayState == StageDisplayState.NORMAL)
I've been trying to attempt to make it so a .flv video will fit to the entire screen of the browser window. ( I already have my .swf file fit to re-size to any browser on any computer. I just can't figure out how to make the video as well) And obviously an external video so the flash file wont take forever to load.The point is this is to be able to have the Video be the background. So I may put content (Links, information or whatever else) on top of the video.
Actaully I am running a cards game. While running the game in between if I change the style portrait to landscape. then how can I detect the screen size and run the game according the screen style (Portrait or Landscape).
Actaully I have written the code to detect the screen as portrait and landscape. But in between if I change the game portrait into landscape, no more it works.
