I am trying to link to a pdf and show,hide an under line when I roollover a button trough an external class call Plans. This is the error I am getting in line 45:
Warning: 3590: void used where a Boolean value was expected. The expression will be type coerced to Boolean.
My button is called fp_1 and the line is called line_fp_1.This is my code .as:
Symbol=sprite 415, layer=Layer 22, frame=1, Line 7 Statement block must be terminated by '}' Symbol=sprite 415, layer=Layer 22, frame=1, Line 28 Syntax error.
I also have a few problem with my quicklink menu.
1. Quick link (sprite 164)
a. How do I create the link when I click at Zedma E-Store it will go [URL]
b. Why I cannot click on Contact menu, I already add the actionscript on this button, but it look like Im missing somewhere else.
2. Contact Form (sprite 415)
a. When I trying to type my name Faizal the screen will display FaiZal, what should I do
b. I cannot type @ on email address on e-mail address column
c. I only can type no.0,2,3,5 on Your Telephone: column
I'm new to Flex and am using TileList bound to an ArrayCollection. The array collection is empty at load time, and then updates with the results from am HTTPService call. The problem is that the item renderers aren't being rendered as expected, I'm guessing because there was no data when they were first rendered at load time. Here's simplified example:
I want a movieclip to appear in a drag and drop game. When you successfully drag the right object and drop it then an animation is called from the library.The animation doesn't appear. However, when I use the same code at the beginning of my programme it does appear so it's not that part of the code that is the problem. Also, a trace statement does trace so it is running the code.[code]...
The first vid node contains a path to a logo graphic, I then need to check in my ActionScript if there is a logo there or not, and to do something if there is(display the logo) I can trace out the logo path so I thought I could run a simple if/else to check if there is anything in that node and if so to do something:
private function thumbOver(e:MouseEvent = null):void { trace(" ");
[code]....
Now I've tried everything, but it will always trace out "Does have a logo" no matter what I do. I tried:
if (tabData[tabID].video[e.target.id].@logo == "") if (tabData[tabID].video[e.target.id].@logo == null)
I'm getting a Flash Builder warning message for multiple variable declarations of variable arr1 in the following AS3 [code]...
I could eliminate this warning with a few more if/else statements, but the code runs fine and I can't see why I should add complexity if the warning is acceptable. Would like to hear anyone else's opinion though if you think differently.
Assuming the warning is fine to live with, how to suppress the warning manually in Flash Builder? That is, only the warning for this example; other warnings must still be displayed.
Having done some programming in Groovy, I know you can write test code in the Groovy console. I classify this as true a scripting language as it doesn't force you to have a class definition. So I'd assume with a name like ActionScript with 'script' in it's name that, you can write a series of statements that act linearly, such as a sequence of variables assignments, their manipulation and dumping out a value.
My question is if this is possible, how do you go about doing it, in order to test some code with ActionScript3? Does the code have to exist in a package?Can the code exist on it's own? (If so, what would the name be you'd give to the source file in order to compile it from the command line?
Would you use mxmlc?
Would you use compc?
I've heard about fsch too. How about that?I also read about a command called 'asc' in R.Braunstein's AS3 Bible 2nd ed (P8), but don't even see this in the SDK bin folders.... So what's that all about? Assuming I've managed to compile this name.as file, how do I execute it and see results? Do I have to run it through a browser and the HTML template, or can I execute from a command line?
Do you have to have a class in the source to bypass this? Can the code block be placed outside a dummy class? If so, does it have to exist in a function? Or can it exist on it's own?Does it have to exist in a code blocks, by wrapping them in curly braces?
I'm a very new user to AS3 and I'm attempting to migrate a site from Flash CS3 to CS4 on a Mac. I keep getting the following compile warning: "Warning: Actions on button or movie clip instances are not supported in Action Script 3. All scripts on object instances will be ignored." This is very confusing to me. I thought that scripts could be attached to both frames and objects? Is this a bug that is a result of switching from versions? Or is this warning true; and I have to abandon all uses of attaching scripts to objects on the stage?
Also: Can anyone illuminate me on the keystroke to call the actions window in AS3? It is supposed to be the F9 function key and another that I can;t locate on my keyboard!? As I said,I'm a very new user, so be kind!!
I have some code on the main time line which basicially just says when this button is pressed go to this frame indicated by the frame label. In this case "answer". This is done inside a movie clip, which isn't on the main time line.
I am having a problem with my build. When I add a valid statement to the code it will no longer complie and it fails with errors from an unrelated file.I experience these issues building with ant or building with mxmlc on the command line.Adding a valid statement to an myLittleBox.mxml will cause this error.All the errors are in ViewerMain.mxml.This file is not the main mxml file but it is referenced from the main mxml file.Before changing myLittleBox.mxml ViewerMain.mxml had no compile errors.There are no errors related to myLittleBox.mxml myLittleBox. mxml has no references to ViewerMain and only uses spark components ViewerMain.mxml has no direct references to myLittleBox.mxml. Its children's children's children would have a reference to myLittleBox.mxml.The valid statement added to myLittleBox.mxml could be many things (they all break it) including a comment.[code]
I noticed that the Model was using a constant in Viewer 1.This was causing all of Viewer 1 to be built when Viewer 2 is built.I moved the constant from Viewer 1 to the the Model (where it really should have been anyways) and my project built successfully since Viewer 1 and Viewer 2 were not being built at the same time.It makes sense that this would resolve the issue however this is just resolving a symptom of the issue.I am still very curious what was causing the the compiler to fail on ViewerMain.mxml when I add a comment to myLittleBox.mxml.I guess that it will remain a mystery for now.
I have a list of 99 item (something like a phone book) and I will like to sort them in different method. Part of the 99 item might be empty, so the requirement is to move the empty field behind the sorted data in every sorting behavior, here the code we have so far:
Having a few problems with what I thought was a simple if statement. Here is the code:
[Code]...
I can't quite figure out the small problem with the code. It seems to just bypass the first requirement of the if statement when I do type in the proper input and go straight to the else statement.
The Flash movie contains 2 Text files, one Component button, and 1 component checkbox.The purpose of the application is to load an XML file(works)Populate 2 text fields with information from the XML file(works)Compare the two text fields, if they contain the same information then the checkbox, via AS is told to be selected. (Heres the problem);
The idea behind this app is that its an electronic form. The user fills it out, the information is then sent to a newly created XML file, months later the open the XML file in flash, and Flash fills out text fields and check and or unchecks Checkboxes based on the XML data.CheckBoxes are mandatory.But I don't see how I'll be able to use them if i can't create and condition statements based on the loaded Data.
I need to write an if statement inside an if-else statement. But no matter how I write it it keeps giving me a syntax error.The syntax error is "1083: syntax error: else is unexpected".[code]No matter how or where I place the braces, it keeps giving me errors.
the problem is obviously that the compiler reads this code rather than understanding I'm trying to regenerate the code within the for loop...does that make sense :S? So basically I need as3 to read the code between the for statement as if it is going to echo that out later. Is this even possible?
