Play Flash Without Player?
Jan 5, 2012Is it possible to play flash without flash-player installed? I heard that SWF file and flash player itself may be included into one EXE file.

Nov 8, 2010I just updated to CS5 - I'm working on a custom video player. It works fine embedded in a web page both locally and on the network. It works fine in the debug player. However, when I test it in the authoring player I get a NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error and no video. I have tried setting the Local Playback Security publish settings to both local and network - doesn't find the video either way.
It used to run fine in CS4 in the authoring environment.

Aug 3, 2010I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.

EDITED: I am making video using images by FFmpeg. I want to play that video in a web browser, but when the video is playing the size of that video keeps on increasing.

Flash :: Video Will Not Play In JW Player On Android?
Nov 8, 2011I cannot get JW Player to play anything on an Android device (real or emulated). In fact, even the default video and default setup that comes packaged in the JW Player download will not play! I've tried re-encoding the video... nope. I've tried prioritizing the HTML5 player over the Flash player... nope. I keep getting the error:
Cannot play video
Sorry, this video cannot be played.
Worth noting, it works fine on the web and in an iPhone.
UPDATE: Here's an example of the unmodified default player directly from the JW Player download: [URL]. Try it on your Android...

I have successfully embedded the swf in a web page but when I play the video from the web page the quaility is significantly degraded. Unfortunately I have no control over the internals of the swf so what I would prefer to do is to embed the mp4 rather than the swf. Aug 16, 2006I'm working with some other developers at my office on a multimedia player interface that displays ads and MP3s/FLVs from a user-controlled database of content.Turns out, in our v2 iteration that uses Flash 8 and the related video player, MP3s don't jive. Is that right? We're just now migrating to Flash 8 development, particularly for video, and we were suprised to see the functionality we had for MP3s with the MediaPlayback component go away. Is there a better way to integrate the Flash 8 video player with audio than what we did before?

I would like to creare the packaged flash file in a way that will autorun on inserting the drive if at all possible. The solution will need to be platform agnostic (hence my thinking that Flash would be the best bet). Has anyone come across a tutorial for achieving anything even similar to the above?

Nov 10, 2011I'm trying to make a simple music player with only one button for Play & Pause the music. What I have now is a MovieClip with:
1st Keyframe: active state for play Button
2nd Keyframe: active state for pause button
3rd Keyframe: hover state for play button
4th Keyframe: hover state for pause button
The script works OK, and play and pause the music without problems as expected.
The problem comes after the second click in the play/pause button when the alternance between two states becomes chaotic. The button never returns to the play state although the music was paused.

For example, if you made a movieclip in frame 1 to go to another place on frame 10 using motion tween, could you possibly make a button and code it so that it plays backwards to a 'stop' point or the start?

Jan 5, 2010I have an application using the new sound capabilities in Flash Player 10 and I want to play a sound dynamically at a rate of 8KHz.
To play sound dynamically you need to listen for the sampleData event and then feed the sound object raw sound data. Unfortunately, the sampleData event appears to only be triggered to enable playback of sound sampled at 44.1KHz.
The microphone can be configured to sample raw data at 8KHz so why can we not configure the speaker to playback raw data at 8KHz. Is there something I'm missing? If not, is this feature in the roadmap?
