What seems like a basic question, but my flash knowledge is basic. Can I rotate an entire flash animation/document before/when exporting it as a (swf) movie? (The movie is going to be displayed on a plasma digital sign, which is turned 90 degrees so it displays vertically, but the creative must be supplied horizontally).

I am having some dificulty making a path for this enemy i'm trying to create... cause i want him to rotate + move, then stop, then shoot, then rotate back and move off screen... Its easier if you see it.. you can download the swf file in the zipped archive to demonstrate what i mean. I did it there with tweens. I am an absolute newbie to flash, trying to pick it up for my website. I am trying to create a loader clip, which so far only shows clouds rolling across the screen. But I even before the clip loops, the screen goes blank for about half a second or less and then resumes from where it blanked. I can't understand why this is happening, and it is making the entire clip look weird.I have not used any Actionscript code. Only simple classic tweens. I am using Flash CS4. Also, the tween is just showing the clouds move from one end to the other, it is contained within the following structure.Scene 1 (single frame containing loader_mc) - > loader_mc (Main loader clip - no motion here, just a single frame containing cloud_mc) - > cloud_mc (Cloud rolling clip - about 110 frames)The structure is made so that more movie clips can be added to loader_mc.

But still it is in square shape, because I can't shape my movie file exactly as screen. I tried with free transform tool but it is also not useful. The perspective tool like in Photoshop sure will work. Is there any such tool in flash cs4? Please help me in this regard.
Still there is black right top and right bottom which to be covered by movie.

View 1 RepliesNot sure why this is happening but everytime I test a movie (CTRL+ENTER) in Flash movie it produces a blank white screen. I even created a new Flash file with a simple Shape but it still gives me that blank white screen when I run test movie. It does, however, run correctly when I click the *.swf that got generated. I'm not sure if my work recently upgraded me to a newer version of Flash Player.

View 5 RepliesI'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.

Is a command for AS2 to make my movie file play fullscreen (stretch, fit to screen, anything).
goFullScreen(); is great but it leaves white bars left and right. What's odd is that I'm using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and it seems to display a perfect widescreen that I want as an input and output but once compiled in flash, it's more square leaving me with white bars left and right. The frame for the video in flash is also widescreen looking.
edit: I ended up stretching the width of the frame but if there is a better way through a command that would make my life easier so I don't have to adjust to every monitor that I run this on.
My question is what needs to be done in order to make a .swf file go into full screen without falling to a black screen when a movie is played? I have tried coding it, however I come up with the following error.

Regarding System.capabilities.screenResolutionX in FMX, how would I achieve a movie clip on my stage to automatically alight to the left of the screen/browser depending on the viewers screen resolution?

View 2 RepliesI'm animating an atom so I have an electron circling the nucleus in the x direction. I've added a motion blur in the x direction which I like. The problem is that I'm then using AS3 to duplicate the animation and randomly rotate it. Now even though the electron is moving up and down the blur is still horizontal. Is there an easy way to fix this? I've tried making the blur a movieclip inside another movieclip but it always blurs only in the x direction.
View 3 Replieshow to make a rotating cube for my website, today i tried to make that cube interactive such as making each side of the cube a button. so what i did was instead of using movie clip symbols to construct the cube i used a series of button symbols. the problem soon arises when i tired to fold the panels into a box. It seems adobe flash does not allow me to rotate a button symbol. when the symbol type is "button" all of the rotating parameters under transform are greyed out but as soon as i change it to movie clip i can rotate it.

In short, I want to rotate every single frame of the animation in exactly the same way.Basically, if there is some way I can change it so it takes length as width and width as height I am sorted.
Simple animation..I want to rotate a circle with a cut in (looks like pacman).I want to rotate i 1 x clockwise and devide this animation in 4 parts. so if you think of a clock it goes, 9, 12, 3, 9, ...The rotation works perfect until i start adding the keyframes and adjusting the rotation, at some point it always goes wrong.. insted of going the right way (clockwise) the circle starts to move counter clockwise.. I have to add some extra keyframes to keep the rotation on track, this result in a not so smooth rotation.
ps: Just to make my self clear, it happents only once you start to manualy rotate and adjust pacman - this is a must since i have to have keyframes in certen points (when the packman is at 90 degree rotation) [URL]

In a nutshell, how can I load one movie (the child) into another movie (the parent) and then using Actionscript, rotate the loaded child movie so that the loaded child movie rotates around its own center? The movie just shows leader board details and consists of 2 frames of content. I simply want to rotate the frames when the movie is on stage. This is what I have inside my move on frame 1....

The third frame is just a catch from so it knows to loop back to frame one. I am wondering if there is a better way to loop these frames and have a delay on each one.
I'm interested in learning how to create a "3d" object that a user can interact with using their mouse. I've taken 60+ pictures of a camera rotating by 5 degree increments and I'm trying to put together something similar to what Verizon has on their website for phones - Where your mouse rolls over an object and rotates it.
I've seen this done with Java as well, but I'm interested in how flash does it.
