Closing Popup Window In Flash Player 10.0.32.18?

I'm a web designer but I just don't use a lot of Flash. I'm sure this will change as time goes on. For now, I'm still using an old version of Flash MX on my Mac - Flash MX version 6. But I don't think that has anything to do with the problem. I designed a flash animation for my wife's website back in 2004 and it has always worked perfectly up until installing the most recent Flash Player 10.0.32.18 just a few days ago. Here's the problem:On my wife's website, we have a special link called "view presentation". You click on that link and a smaller, separate window pops up. Inside of this pop up window is the flash animation (the actual swf file). In the HTML code for the pop up window, I have coded the following javascript:

Basically, I'm trialling a javascript button that, when clicked, will produce a popup window with the flash player embedded in it. I've had some progress but am having problems passing the url I want...
My javascript reads:
function doublePopup(){
var player = document.FLVClipEditor;
if (player) {
var url = "[URL]";
player.doublePopup(url);
}}

But when I try to pass a URL through, nothing happens. However, if I put the url in directly (as below), bingo! The pop appears!

I've installed the latest debug version of Flash player plugin for Mac OS X. Diagnostic page [URL]that the version of Flash plugin detected is debugger one. I'am also able to debug applications using Flash-builder debugging tools. But no runtime error pop-ups are shown during browsing.I've tried to uninstall the player using this application [URL] and reinstall Flash player again, but no luck.
UPD1: I've created additional user account and found out that error pop-ups are displayed successfully when switched to that account. So it's likely user-profile configuration issue.

I am currently trying to work out how to get Flash to close the browser window it is running in. I've done a simple Javascript test version which works fine.. But if I try and use:
ExternalInterface.call("closeMyWindow");
Functionality it does not. My simple Javascript version is cut and paste below and attached to this message.

Simple..close a pop up window from flash.[code]and the button to close the pop up is this:[code]However, this closes the parent window and leaves the pop up open.Have tried this in various ways but nothing seems to work??

Learning as I go but basically what I have are two windows. The "background window" displays content to the player and a "popup" window shows in front of it to explain the window currently displayed. I have close functions assigned to both windows to close their respective display objects, but what I really need is for the popup window to close when the background window closes.
Here's the relevant code for the popup window that displays info on the background window:

Important thing I forgot to mention is that I removed some of the code from the above files to hopefully cut back on reading. Only the relevant stuff (or what I believe to be) is posted.I think what I need to do is include something within the "closeWindow" function within the WindowHolder class that relates to the popup class.

Working on a flash poker game and I wonder if there is any way you can create a popup launcher that detects if the user tries to close the browser window. Right now the user can close the window and therefor lose the current round, isnt very user friendly

i'm using the centered pop up window script from: [URL]. i have multiple buttons in my flash movie which open screenshot html pages in external browser windows. the script works fine except when a popup window stays open. the rest of the buttons don't open/replace past that one popup. i tried changing the window name in the onRelease script to screen1, screen2, etc for each button, but that didn't work.

I need to close the popup(adobe flex), non modal window if I click on the parent page of the popup. I have to do the out of focus check and then do some validation before close the popup. so I was having this weird phenomenon in a rather complex flash app, that even though the app worked fine and didn't throw any errors, it just crashed the flashplayer upon closing the SWF... Go to [URL]. Click on "The Photos". It will pop up in a fullscreen window. Try resizing the window and you'll notice that the background is vector and it looks like the scale mode is set to "showAll". BUT, the photos look like they have a separate scale mode set to "noScale". They don't resize.

If i would place flash in a usual way, i could use wmode transparent.
but I place flash on page with iframe (because it loads external files, with relative URLs, from another server)
Also on a page I have JS popup window. But when opened, it's under flash in iframe.
