We've been streaming our campus radio station via FMS 3.5, and a WM server. Problem with both of these is we don't get a stream format that iTunes radio likes. We got close with creating an mp3 stream out of the FME, but we can't get the quality up the Anyone got a how to for FMS on creating an iTunes radio compatible stream?
View 2 RepliesI'm new in the mobile app development and I'm trying to do a simple online radio app using flash builder 4.5, but every time I try to play audio from a remote site (stream) it just not work. I've done different test, and when I use a local audio files everything works flawlessly.

My team is in the planning phase of a multiplatform mobile app. We're considering Adobe Air/Flex or Appcelerator Titanium instead of native development, but will eventually be needing to use an external API that is ported to iOS and Android. **(one that harnesses the device's camera)The idea would be to use platform detection and overloaded classes to determine which platform version of the API to import. Is something like this possible in either Adobe or Appcelerator? If so, would the native Objective-C or Java need to somehow be wrapped in Actionscript (if Adobe) or JavaScript (if Titanium)
View 2 RepliesI'm a longtime CF developer that is trying to get into to Flex mobile development with Flash Builder but I've become frustrated in trying to output results from a simple database query.
I'm looking to do something along the lines of this...
<cfoutput query="myQ">
<s:Button label="#title#" click="myFunction(#id#)">
</cfoutput>
I am interested in streaming audio on my website, but I have no clue where to begin. There are two types of streaming I hope to achieve. The first would be streaming a playlist of songs stored on the server and the second would be live audio streaming. Can anybody recomend any good sites or plugins to use?
View 2 RepliesI got some Images in my scroller component. while scrolling the scroller sometimes hang for a second... i think the image is loading. is it possible to load the image before the scroller is on the position?!.
View 1 RepliesI can use:
navigator.pushView
in ViewNavigatorApplication, but can't use it in TabbedViewNavigatorApplication?
Is there a replacement for navigator.pushView in TabbedViewNavigatorApplication?
Are there any free audio players that I can use in my website? Are they customizable?
I've heard of Soundmanager 2. It's a flash based player with a javascript front-end.
Are there any other free players like that?
I want to download a video on mobile device through flex framework. For that reason I need to have support of multithreading so that I can download video in background. Unfortunately, Flex doesn't have multithreading support. I am quite new with flex environment.
View 1 RepliesMy buddy and I are gearing up for a game jam and we're hoping to use Flash to build our project. One possible problem is that he's got a PC laptop, and I've got a MacBook.
What's the status of cross-platform development in Flash? I'd love to be able to drop something into an SVN repo and pull everything down without regard to the OS, but I'm not convinced that will be very smooth. It seems like I can move around ActionScript source and .fla files without too much issue, but Flash Builder projects seem pretty gnarly, e.g. they appear to have references to them outside of the project folder.
Is there an easy way to migrate project data in such a away that we can develop and debug regardless of OS? Maybe version-controlling all the portable content (.as, .fla, raw assets) and the importing into our respective project environments?
I am using progressive streaming with VideoDisplay, the HTTP URL provided gets buffered completely even if I have configured it to start playing the video when the buffering reaches 20%, the trace message shows that the playing started(using mozilla /Flashbug+Firebug), but it doesnot show the video till the buffercounter reaches 100% How can I get the video stream to play at the 20% of stream.Code Segment where the check takes place
var loadedPct:uint = Math.round(100 * (event.bytesLoaded / event.bytesTotal));
trace('waiting...');
mainVideoCanvas.addChild(LoadingImage);
VidLoadingLabel2.text = loadedPct.toString();

We're using HTTP live streaming service designed for Apple's iOS devices. It's working well with iOS devices currently.
Source video fragments are stored in server formatted in H.264 and with MPEG2(.ts) container. Is there a way to play these video in Flash platform?

I just need to know if there's a way to stream online radio in a flash website. I searched a little in the forum, but found nothing. I have a full flash website that plays mp3s, but it's hard to find good Creative Common licensed music that I could use legally. I don't even know, if there are any radio stations to embed...
View 1 RepliesI'm developing a web-based fantasy football game. Most of the game is a straight-forward web application built on top of Linux/Apache/Php/MySQL.
I'm trying to figure out how to implement the draft application. The draft date and time will be scheduled in advance by each league's owner. Up to 32 users may be logged on for a given league's draft, and there is no limit to how many drafts may be happening concurrently. The users will take turns selecting players, and each user's turn will have a time limit. I'd like for all the users to be able to see whose turn it is, how much time that user has left to select a player, who they select, and which players are still available. If there are users in the league who are not logged in during the draft I'd like to be able to detect that and automatically assign players to them rather than waiting for the time to run out on their turn. Ideally I'd also like to have a chat window so the users could chat with one another during the draft.
My background is in desktop application development, so if necessary I could write server code in C#/.NET or Java. As far as I can see these are the options: PHP/AJAX - It seems like it would be possible to have all the state for the draft in the database and have the operations for the draft run in PHP triggered by requests from the clients? I guess in this case the draft doesn't start until at least one user logs in, and it seems like it would be a lot of polling requests to the server if I want everyone notified quickly when a user makes a selection.

I have a colleague who will be using Adobe Flex and adobe flash builder to design the application. The final application will be in that software. I am creating the database features and testing them using online browsers.What I want to know is that some alerts I am getting a 'prevent this message from multiple dialogues' message on the alert but this is because of the browsers. But if the application is on flex and flash builder (I don't know which one is where the app is stored coz I have never used it) then will that message appear on some alerts in that software or is it only on browsers?[code]

View 1 RepliesI want to create a tree view (expandable list ) in flex 4.5 builder mobile,Is it possible for web projects in flex builder for web [URL]
View 1 RepliesI've tried a number of options, sharedobject, xml, and junking up input/dynamic text in pretty awful ways; have also tried to "save on close" in AIR code. Any right path so when I port and test to iOS it will work...I'm not good in a flex/flash builder environment, as I am in flash 95% of the time.
View 1 RepliesIm starting experiment with Flash Builder for PHP mobile projects and I found it facinating. I could connect the app to a local database, but I was wondering how can I update the data of the mobile app from a website?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a menu, similar to a dock menu but that just magnifies the images when rolled over (rather than overly crazy carosels or massively zooming docks. and secondly...the dock menu would link to separate flvs that are on a streaming server. I've never worked with one before and wonder how to connect them to my flash. I'm trying to create an flv player, sorry, shouldve said earlier... but one that only plays 6 vids (linked to by the magnifying dock menu).
View 2 Repliesi am New to flex.Can any one point me to a small piece of mxml code which plays audio files(mp3,wav.....) also which has the capabilities to pause, play, stop.... the audio file. Also this file would be embedded in a html file later on..
View 1 RepliesI deployed FMS 4.0 enterprise edition on my 64-bit linux platform. in the applications folder of FMS, i create a "dvr" subfolder and at the same time create a dvr.asc. the code is as the following :
application.onAppStart = function()
{
trace("app fme started!");
};
[Code]....
i expect the live stream will be recorded on the FMS server , but unfortunately nothing happened . But if i use my pc ( 32-bit windows xp platform) , everything works well. when i connect to my win_xp pc, the fms server automatically created a streams\_definst_myVideo.flv file under the dvr folder.
then the fms server on 64-bit linux cannot create the myVideo.flv file ?
I am currently developing a mobile application using the latest version of Flash Builder and I need to create a Global ArrayCollection to store information in that is pulled from a local DB. I can pull back the data from the DB fine however I cannot seem to access the Global variable when I try. I have the follng .as file called "Model.as" which is located in a folder called valueObjects and that file contains the following code:
package valueObjects
{
import flash.data.SQLConnection;
[Code]....
Then in a private function I try to access the ids ArrayCollection and populate it however I get the following error:
-1120: Access of undefined property ids.
-Access of undefined property ids
I am using flash builder to make an app for android/ios. How would you recommend I use assets such as images and sounds. Should I embed them or use loader? Any benefits to each one. I have a fair amount of assets.
View 2 RepliesI have this application that is basically the ubiqutous page turning component you can find online, but modified for mobile. It's for kid's storybooks. It's a mobile flex application in FlashBuilder 4.6. When I export release build for my mobile project, I see an option for desktop .air packaging rather than mobile. Works and looks great....but you can't sell a .air file on Mac App Store. I want to bundle the air runtime to create a .app, which hopefully I can get on the app store. However, this option is not available in a mobile project. I've tried figuring it out via commandline...

The window for Flash Builder's mobile device emulator (in AIR) seems to be a bit too tall for a resolution running 1280x800. Is there a way to make it run smaller? 1280x800 is the highest resolution set-able on the laptop being used to develop for it.
