I want to control flash animation from voice, like after animation start, to pause animation will speak "STOP" from microphone animation will stop on same time or speak "START" animation will start from same timeline.

I am doing a project on an interactive website that contains flash animations. I have to incorporate a voice that explains what is happening in the animations. I am using my own voice for this. I have recorded my voice and saved it as .mp3 files. between each animation there are about 6-10 audio files. I am pretty sure I can import the sounds into the flash library and drag the sounds on the timeline and sync the sound with the animations that way but is it possible to control the sound using actionscript as I have to incorporate buttons that allows the user to play, pause and stop the animation and the audio. Or can I only use actionscript to achieve this.

I'd like to know if it is possible to control an application with one's voice, using AS3. My project is an application that will be use a some kind of remote to control the various systems (domotique) in my house; the apps can be use with the buttons (way1) and the voice (way2). For example, I enter a room, wants to turn the lights on (they have the proper equipment of course). I have two choices, I either press the button for lights on the pad on the wall, or say something like "Lights ON" or whatever.

We are building a live RTMFP voice chat application with Cumulus. While the basic voice transfer works pretty easy using NetStreams, we have one big problem:There does not seem to be a way to manipulate the microphone data that the NetStream sends, and also not a way to manipulate the data the listening NetStream receives before it is played.However, this is exactly what we need. We do not want to transfer the normal microphone recorded audio, but first pitch it, then send it, then play it. Or first send it, then pitch it, then play it. But it seems that the whole audio recording, speex encoding, speex decoding and audio playback is completely encapsuled within the NetStream class.The only ways to achieve what we want (and all of them removing NetStream completely) seem to be:Send raw pitched audio data. That does work, but is of course a lot of data to send and will likely not work fast enough outside of our local LAN testing.

Pitch audio data, convert to ogg/mp3 using existing encoders for flash, send, decode ogg/mp3 and play. But this would mean encoding each and every sample packet that is received from the microphone, adding header stuff, etc. So this would likely not even yield that much of a benefit compared to raw audio data.2.1. This would actually be a good way if there was a Speex encoder/decoder for flash. But ironically, there is none other than the built in one (which is used for encoding/decoding audio in NetStreams) that cannot be explicitly used. ot offering it, Adobe...Send the data to the Cumulus server, pitch (and probably convert) there and send to the recipient. This would likely not even be that much faster than 1. and also throw away the exact benefit of RTMFP, P2P communication.

Professional :: If You Create An Animation Can You Loop The Last Frames Of That Animation If A Button Is Held Down?

ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

I have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

Can i control the animation(i.e. play/stop) of an external swf that was created in macromedia flash professional 9 or older version using actionscipt 3.

I have earlier loaded swf files created in flash CS3 and controlled their animation in the parent swf by calling the play() and stop() methods.

But when i use the same code in case the loaded content was created in flash professional 9 or earlier version, the play() and stop() methods dont work.

More importantly, I wondered if there was a way to substitute clicking on a button with hitting a key on the keyboard? On a horizontal bar, text scrolls from left to right, continuously. The text is a fixed string of city names, and I've made it so that it loops nicely. This horizontal bar with scrolling text is part of a vertical animation, scrolling the bar in and out of view. The vertical tween starts after two seconds. When the vertical tween starts, the horizontal animation has started as well. At the beginning and end of the vertical tween, the horizontal tween starts over. I want it to continu.

I have an enemy movieclip.Inside that movieclip I have a motion tween so it moves around on the stage, then inside that movie clip I have an animation of his feet moving so it looks like he is walking as he moves across the stage. Also in that same animation of him walking is an image of him laying down and dying on frame 6.I just have the walking animation looping as the playhead gets to frame 5 so it won't show him dying.So what I want to know is how do I make it so when my hero shoots him with a bullet..the enemy goes to that dying image on frame 6 and stop.I can already make it so the bullet will kill an enemy if it is just movieclip>inside movieclip.But I don't know how to make the code communicate to make it work when its movieclip>inside movieclip>then inside that movieclip.

Flash :: Control Speed Of An Animation In Catalyst?

I had created a simple slide show in Flash and published as a .swf file. The slide show contains few images and the animation takes about 45 seconds to run at 8 frames per second. When i imported it into Flash Catalyst, the animationa runs very fast, taking only about 15 seconds to get through the whole slide show. I re-adjusted the animation in Flash to make it run slower but when i imported the new version into flash catalyst, it runs at the same speed, --still very fast.Is there any way for me to control the speed of my animation and make it runs the same speed as I set up in Flash?

Very new to AS3 and wasn't a strong coder to begin with - I've been asked to build a large banner revealing multiple ads (4 to be precise). My thought is to use a TimerEvent (if, then type statement) to control how long each "billboard" will be on the stage, then have the next one slide onto the stage...etc, etc... I'm finding conflicting codes out there, and don't know which to pull from. This seems easy in my head, but the AS3 code appears very complex to pull this off.

I have created some functions to manage timed pause/play in an animation and I am trying to make a class from them, but it does not work, the play() and stop() functions I use have no effect. The functions work as intended when not in the class.

I checked that the functions are executed with the trace() and it is the case, so the problem really comes from the play() and stop() functions, and I do not receive any error at compilation or runtime.

Walking Animation (MovieClip Control By Keyboard Events)

I have two MovieClips, and both are controlled by keyboard events. One is a globe that I want to rotate in one direction or the other. The second is a walking animation that should change direction or stand still depending on which key is pressed or if none are.

Here is the AS Code:

I have my main movie that has a container movieclip called vulture_container_mc. That container MC loads "vulture_mc.swf" into it. There is a button on the main movie that loads that swf into the container MC. I did the if statement in the beginning so the person couldn't keep reloading the animation when you click on the button over and over. It works so they can't do that, but now they can only press the button once, after that one time the button doesn't work.

Here is the main movie I'm talking about:

The vulture animation when you click the email button is the external swf file. I would like to make it where they can't keep reloading the animation (which works with the if statement, but I also need it so you can press the email button again after the animation is done to cause the vulture animation and email link to work again.

I am trying to create a simple play, stop, rewind. fforward controller. I have the slideShow and the Control in the same time line. As the enterframe event is nested inside a function it will rewind but then none of the other buttons will work as I am not able to removeEventListener for the enterframe event.
