While creating one photo gallery I am facing one problem in controlling the Font Color, Font Size and other characteristics of a text loaded into a text field from an XML File. I'm learning how to use flash CS5.5 and i'm unable to continue a lesson because my button editing seems to not work properly. -When i double click or right click and click edit on my button I go into the symbol edit screen, where i can see the basic button states "Up, Over, Down, & Hit" but when I try to change the appearence of the button in each state the color and any sort of editing done to it does not happen, it is red in the "up" keyframe and when i try to change it to gray in the "over" keyframe it stays red.
-I found that double clicking the button in the edit screen goes into another edit screen labled "symbol 1" and in there i can change the color of the button, but any edits in that screen remain ineffectuall to the actuall button on the main screen. I don't know what is wrong with it, or if I am missing something, i've tried in both action script 2 and 3 and both have the same results.
Say I draw a square on the stage, with a fill of blue and a stroke of black. My width and height are both the same. Now, in my Actionscript, I want to change that blue fill to something else.... on some off the wall condition of course.
Better yet, imagine I draw this extremly elaborate polygon out. How could I change it's fill, dynamically, in Actionscript (AS2 preferably, but I'm just lookin' for logic here)

I know that you can format text in XML through CDATA and htmlText option in flash.. my question is if one can format the content of an attribute in the same way.. i.e:If I have the following line in my XML file:

is it possible to format the "Hello World" text? Can I for example put the CDATA option in the content of the "Name" -tag like so:

I can't seem to figure out how to change the color of a font or the font iteself on the button component. I'm sure it's a simple procedure. Everything seems to point you to changing the colors of the button itself, but not the font.
