Trying to recognize urls from an xml text (as1) I have not access to edit the xml.The url is loaded as string, ex: "lorem ipsum dolor sThe url is not always at the end of the stringI'm loading it and showing as htmlText, but the url is not likeable (coz have no tags T.T )using split and join i got:

I've got a strange situation where I'm replacing the text in a string that I've taken from an XML, but the .replace function for the string keeps failing. I've tried running the example given on the Adobe site, so I know the value I'm trying to replace ("%20") isn't at fault - it's something about the string I have! I've included the code below, but it seems correct. Is there a particular tip I should know when taking XML values into AS3? I'm putting them in strings for this project.

I can trace both newFiles[i] and keywords[i][whatever], but the replace doesn't replace anything. The regex is valid as well. I'm using regexr to test it, and it works perfectly there... but will not for me and I don't know why.

I've been trying to use the replace function but this only replaces the first instance of the substring. How can I replace al instances of the substring within the larger string?

object.swf?this=that
then "this" is properly recognized as a flashvar within the flash object.But, if I set "this" via mod_rewrite, as in:
RewriteRule ^object$ lib/object.swf?this=that [QSA,NC,L]
then "this" is undefined.I even wrote a little PHP script to dump the contents of $_GET (changed the rewrite target temporarily), and I'm positive that the rewrite rule is working.
mod_rewrite clarification:
To demonstrate the strangeness of the problem, let me temporarily change the rewrite target to "object.php", so the rule now reads:
RewriteRule ^object$ lib/object.php?this=that [QSA,NC,L]
I created object.php in the /lib/ directory with the following line:
<?php echo '<pre>'.print_r($_GET, true).'</pre>'; ?>
Then, when I navigate to /object, I get the following output:

This demonstrates that the rewrite rule is working as expected.Still, when I change the rewrite target back to the SWF, "this" is not recognized as a flashvar.(I'd definitely check the rewrite log to make sure, but I don't think I have access to it on the Media Temple server I'm using.)
I am using flex to generate a lexical analyser for a custom language. The problem I am having is that as soon as I find a misformed token... I have no way to tell what other tokens follow this one. e.g.[code]Here, the stream of tokens will be id,<,>,id,<;>...... the language specifies that each token be seperated by a whitespace. So seeing a v after 1 should produce an error and the scanner has to print that error. After that, there are more legal tokens and another illegal token (~return). How do I process the rest of the legal tokens and print the second error.I am using flex as the scanner generator. When I find that none of the regular expressions for the lexeme matches, I call an error routine that prints the appropriate message.How do I resume processing after calling this routine?

So when I click on the link, the HTML document should pop-up and should gave me a nice HTML page that is readable for the normal users. I have a very general requirement that seemed very simple: Step 1: Load a new external JPEG image into a MC with a string var encoding a string caption in the URL link (VALUE="../fadeTest.swf?someTextVar=TestCaption") within the EMBED / OBJECT sections. I know how to do this and it semed to work fine. STEP2: When the JPEG is loaded I would like the substituted Text to Fade In over the JPEG. The JPEG should also fade in before the Text. The fade rate should be programmable.

What I want to do after is to convert each letter into a specific tone, using MML (Music Macro Language).When i play the tweet via the sound library sion after my attempted replacing i only get five tones through. I'm trying to basically search a text string and then replace it with a movie that I have in my library so I plan on using attachMovie and then do some tweening to it later. The part I'm struggling with now however is the actual adding the movie after it finds the string. Here is what I have:

This replaces the 2 but of course also replaces all the other instances of 2 in the htmlText as well. Is there any possible workaround? Can I exploit the fact that the other 2's are inside quotations and someone not mess with those ones based on that fact?

it doesn;t replace the second 0 with 1., but it replaces the first one. However if the initial sting is 'let's go' if I press x the letter e is replaced with 1. if the string is 'eet's go' if i press x the first e is replaced with 1 and if i press x again the second letter e is replaced.
