In the XML of the example there is an hyperlink which doesn't work. It appears as a hyperlink but when you click on it isn't working.

Aug 8, 2005Its a simple matter of loading text from a text file named "data" into a dynamic field. The code in the frame itself is

loadText.load("data.txt");

The thing is that the SWF file I load the text into (called "RASHI.swf"). I loaded into another SWF file called "index.swf". My site is based on this tutorial [URL]. When I run "RASHI.swf" on my PC everything is fine and the text is loaded but when I run "index.swf" (again, on my PC, not the web) it says "Undefined".

Feb 22, 2009this is should be pretty simple but I have had a lot of trouble figuring this out..
I have one dynamic text field called "content_txt"
I have 3 buttons with 3 different instance names (btn1 btn2 btn3)
I have 3 text documents in a folder (1.txt 2.txt 3.txt)
I am able to have 1.txt loaded into content_txt, but here is the problem.
I would like btn2 to load 2.txt and btn3 to load 3.txt into content_txt.
I have looked for an answer for this problem (and found many close answers) but when I try and make my code fit, it just doesn't work. I'm really new to this so any help would be amazing. (or if this has been answered somewhere else and I have missed it..

The trick is that I want it to randomly load a different chunk of text in each time the user opens the site. There are about 25 different small pieces of text I want to randomly load.

Nov 2, 2011I have a dynamic textfield being populated with an xml files' content. I then have a css stylesheet loaded into format the text. This all works great, but what doesn't work is the ability to bold some of the words in that text. I have both the regular and bold versions of the font embedded into the swf, I can test out just a bold block of text and it works fine. The css is also working as it will change the size of the text that I tell it to. Everything is working, but for some reason I am not able to get the bolder version of the font to display in the same text box as the regular one. I have also tried to change fonts but had the same outcome.

Is there a way to pass the textfield A text to a dynamic text input (flash) as I'd like to use the font embedding flash offers. I can make it work when loading a value from a txt file but I'm not sure how to access the value identified above as KitGroupID_16_TextOption_38 and make it appear in a dynamic input box. Eventually I might want to have 3 font choices for the user but I'd like to just see if I can get this working properly first.

Sep 17, 2007i am loading text to an text field from an xml file in which i am having superscript and subscript text. i enabled the html property for my Textfield. but still the text is displaying the in the textfield is normal like i am giving u example .its an mathematical expression;
if i write like this my_txt.htmlText = "x<sup>2</sup>";
it showing like x2 where as it has to show like x to the power of 2.so what should i do to display the text like this ...

I want it to open up a url to show an expanded image of the thumbnail I added. In my external text field I have three things: &caption1=Problem: Create a photo with things that typically don't go together &credit1=Solution: Taking photos and using Photoshop to create a unique photo &software1=Software: Photoshop CS3 I thought if I added a 4th dynamic text field (url_txt) and used &url1= for each cite it would load. Dec 8, 2010I'm creating an XML-driven pie chart in AS3 with 2 text boxes in each pie slice. Both text fields are dynamic in the sense that they are populated by the XML doc and then told where to place themselves in the AS3. I've got them both using the same x and y position to place themselves at the moment (which of course puts them right one top of each other), but I'd like to make one of the fields (which acts like a label or a title to the larger number and % text field) place itself in a particular spot around the other text field. The result I'm looking for is to have the smaller "title" text field appear approximately 5 pixels above and left-justified to the larger "percentage" field.
Anyway, here are two sections of code that I've currently got. The first chunk, for the Tags portion, sets the position for the "percentage" text field using a good old x and y method. The second chunk, for Titles, is setting the position for the smaller "title" text.

It all works well and stuff, but when I turned "imagetext" into an input text field, it gives me an error message

Sep 10, 2004I have tried and had success loading an img into a dynamic textField at run time. But sometimes it takes littile long to load img and gives me an impression that image is not getting loaded.
My textFields html, multiline, autoSize, wordWrap properties are set to TRUE. But still sometimes i dont get my image loaded in to the textField.
Is there anyway i can handle this? Or Is there any way i can trace this issue? My images are also having size of max 7kb.

May 11, 2010I want to load text into a dynamic text field (called 'about_tab') using a class depending on the language selected (by clicking on a flag icon) by the user.
I managed to get this to work when the ActionScript was written directly in the timeline, but am having problems with doing the same thing via a class.
This is my class file:

Could it be a problem of permisson (since the url of the txt is from a different page than the one the swf is on)?
