ActionScript 3.0 :: Best Or Easiest To Load Texts With Link?

I was contemplating which is the best or easiest way to create three texts with links an Internet site. One method is creating a static text in design mode and only show the static texts with hyperlink or creating all these programmatically by loading external texts and adding the link in code.I was thinking that to be more flexible and portable, creating the hyperlink to some texts programmatically is better but I'm not sure where to start on that. I know how to load external texts now but I'm not sure how to add hyperlinks to it.

I have these movie clips you see..url...click on the text behind the white boxes.
1st I can't get the link texts to sit on top of the white boxes when it loads.
2nd, after loading the second or third box you'l begin seeing my swapDepths issues surface. I've tried pretty much every combination of swapDepths solutions.
Here is what I need. When the page loads and the box is small the link text is on top so you can read what you're clicking. When you click the link the section enlarges and I need the section to be on top. Whatd'ya think? Anyone up to a challenge? As a bonus question I can't figure out why the text goes all crazy looking at random... even the stationary text but not the dynamic text.

I have been working on a project where by pressing on three different buttons three different animations will occur.What I need help now is making sure that whenever I click on the various buttons I get different text showing in a text box I created on the stage.So far I created a dynamic text field, but I do not know how to load the various texts whenever I click on the buttons.

If i have different text fields in one flash page like price, description.. is it possible to load different variables like "&price", "&description" from one .txt file? If you take a look at my example there are 2 text fields: the first one loads simple text. the second one is called dayNames and had to show this .txt content:
"&dayNames=Sunday,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursda y,
Friday,Saturday"
when i test the movie those contents are shown in the output panel (it was a tutorial) but it's not what i was looking for! how can i load different texts in different text fields through one .txt file?

I am having a ton of trouble with something here and if anyone could help it would be a saving grace. I have attached a movie clip to this post. It is a simple little movie clip object I am using. I want to know how I could go about changing the hue of the movie clip dynamically in actionscript without losing any of the "quality" of the movieclip.

I have this animated button that I created from a tutorial, but am a little confused at to how I could set a hotspot for the button, the button is just a white outline square, no background image, so the button is not completely filled.it only triggers when rollover line, am I making any sense.is this the easiest way to create an animated button in as3, seems like there is alot of script??

I allow my users to upload files from a directory. I use SWFUpload so that they can upload multiple files easily. However, I need to get the absolute path of the directory from which they are uploading.A little research tells me that it can't be done in plain HTML/Javascript or in Flash.Java applets seem to support this, so that's what I'm planning on using. I guess ActiveX can also do it, but I don't know much about ActiveX stuff, so I would rather avoid it.Also, I can assume that the users are using Windows (XP or greater) and IE.It there an easier way (other than writing a Java applet) that I'm missing? Having the user type in the directory into a textfield is an option, but not a very good one.

what the easiest way to play movieclips is using pure AS in classes. Basically, I have a MC instance on the stage with 25 frames and simply want to play it once. Using the play() method causes it to play infinitely, and I can't find any other methods which let me choose the frames i want to play between.

Just finishing something out and have an XML file that loads info into a Flash file that I'm looking to have a link in. I'm honestly generally pretty much straight up HTML and CSS when it comes to web stuff, but XML seemed to be the way to go in this situation. In order to put some dynamic content into my flash site, I have used loadvariables in order to retrieve into variables some html content.I have also used dynamic text (renderred as html) in order to retrieve the values of those variables (using Var parameter).My problem is that whenever html indicates <img> tags, those images are loaded when the dynamic texts first appeared in screen.

I have a slide show. I followed this tutorial.However, for the description texts, I want to slide from the left to the middel of the stage at the bottom and stay there for the length of the image being displayed and then slide from the middle to off the stage as soon as the current image dissolved to the next image. Since no one is able to answer my question in this thread, I like to ask a simpler question. How do I create a tween that will slide my texts from left to the middle and then pause for 3 seconds then continue to slide off stage to the right?

The above code is what I have so far for sliding texts from left to the middle. However, I couldn't figure out how to pause for 3 seconds and then continue to the right and eventually off the stage.

I have been put in charge of building a website for my company as kind of a side job - so I downloaded a nifty looking template that I thought would be pretty cool to use.
The template consisted of a flash animation that was on top of a bunch of data, clicking the links in the flash animation however would load up another .html and would reply the intro of the flash _every_ _single_ _time_

I am currently checking if something is true or false at an external link. What I want to do is, integrate a "failsafe" function, so if the external link should be down I'll display something special. I'm not sure how to do this, but what I had in mind was to define x amount of seconds and if nothing has been received by that time, terminate the call to the link and do something else.

I am wondering what the AS code is to get a URL link in flash AS2 to open up into the new window that it already opened up the first time. Basically, I am making an online store. Once you hit the "Add to cart" Button, it opens the shopping cart up into a new window. ("_blank") Which I want it to. But now, when the shopper comes back to the window with the store in it and adds another Item to their cart, they now have 2 shopping carts open. I want it to refresh the shopping cart window that was opened the first time with the updated information, instead of opening an additional one everytime something new is added to the cart.

What I'm trying to do: I have developed Flash projects for a client Company that are run via flash exe's. These projects sit on a network server. This company is now concerned about the security of these projects. If someone should copy the files off the server they should not play. I thought of a solution that has a text file on the server with a variable that is loaded into the player at runtime. The link to this txt should be absolute, so if the folder is copied off the server and taken off site the flash player will no longer be able to find the network folder with the text file. Does this required php, asp etc? Or is there another way to load a variable into flash player from a IP addressed folder?

I am trying to build a menu. I have created few texts and converted into buttons, which goto some url on click. Now, I have to add "fire burning" animation to these texts on mouseover. I have a movie clip of burning fire. I want to reuse the same movie clip. Also, when the animation plays, I want text to be visible on top of flames.
Can I reuse one mc or should I create multiple clips (or instances)? How to bring the text to foreground? Guidelines and if possible,
