ActionScript 3.0 :: Blank Static Text Box When Am Importing The Xfl Type File To Flash
Oct 1, 2009
When am importing the xfl type file to flash Many blank Static text box is appering. Is there anyways to remove the blank static text box without selecting one by one. Check by Ctrl+A
I'm trying to build an RSS feed reader to display inside a swf on a webpage. I need to figure out how to create the RSS feed reader as it's the last bit I need to create for this website.
Here's the code I'm using:
var rssLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); var rssURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://teachercenter.scps.k12.fl.us/education/rss.php?sectiondetailid=69411"); rssLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, rssLoaded); rssLoader.load(rssURL);
[code]....
I keep getting an error message that reads:
1061: call to a possibly undefined method addItem through a reference with a static text type flash.text.Textfield.
But the same error keeps showing up, related to the var t1 and var t2 lines: Access of possible undefined property text through a reference with static type class What should I do? I already tried removing the String indication, trade : by =,
I keep getting the following error msg below I would be very happy if some knows the solution to this: Error Msg: 1118: Implicit coercion of a value with static type Object to a possibly unrelated type flash.events:Event Object A dispatches Event as:
1. In my submit form, how do I display "Type Here" when a text field is blank? and when the user begins typing, how can make "Type Here" disappear?
2. if I have a button on the root, can I assign an onRelease action to it from _root.main _mc.sub_mc.holder_mc? I've tried but no luck. Is this possible?
var myPercStr = myStr.text; myPercStr= myPercStr.toString(); var myPerc = Number(myPercStr);
I am trying to get the value of a text field which is created by the user pushing a pin-pad. This text field is a string which is joined() from an Array of the sequence of pin-pad entries. Now my problem is that Flash will not convert the .text text field into a string with which I can use the value to convert to a Number and perform math on it.
1118: Implicit coercion of a value with static type Object to a possibly unrelated type flash.geom:Rectangle.I got this error coming from the bold words when I tried to use this AS2 code in my AS3 stage. I'm currently trying to convent an AS2 printing of DataGrid to AS3. [code].....
I'm in the beginning stages of trying to understand AS3.Flash is outputting these two errors:1118: Implicit coercion of a value with static type Object to a possibly unrelated type Function.1120: Access of undefined property event_obj.
I am trying to read some values from an external text file (combobox1.txt) into Flash, to populate my combobox1.
tmpArr1 = []; myVars1 = new LoadVars(); myVars1.load("combobox3.txt");
[Code].....
This works just fine on my PC; but won't work online after uploading the files (freehostia), the combobox will stay emty. After openinig the text file (link) on my browser I only see a blank screen. So I tried the same file on a diferente server and now I can see the data now on in my browser (link) and my local swf, but still nothing on my online swf.
How can I save data to a text file and also append a record to data in an existing text file? I've used Authowrware previously and it was quite easy to create a large string of data (a comma separated list) and export that to a text file (and create the text file if it didn't already exist). I could then easily append additional rows of data (records) to the text file. We want to build a questionnaire that will store the data locally on the computer in a text file. Each record may have a few hundred data points in a comma separated list.
In my external .as file, I'm trying to say that "if my current frame has the frame label of "enterdone", then go to the frame with the label "enter". The movie clip is called _cedars, and all of my frame labels, variables, etc. are set up properly. Here is my code:
I am working in Flash CS4 (AS3).What I have created is basically a simple photo gallery. About 5 thumbs that when rolled over a larger version appears. Both the thumbnail images and larger images are loading dynamically.I've got that working.What it's missing is a headline and a sub headline for each pic that comes up. I need to do this from an external text file.
I was able to do this with AS2.AS3 not so much. How do I control the content of multiple dynamic text boxes on different places throughout the timeline with an external text file in AS3? I just want to name different text boxes different names and have the external text file pass the variables into my swf for each text box.
I am trying to override a parent class method. I successfully done so. But when I try to access a property. i get the following error 1178: Attempted access of inaccessible property left through a reference with static type This property is public and it is defined. below is my code
getting error 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method stop through a reference with static type flash.events:TimerEvent.on my as3 class. I'm just starting to learn as3 and cant figure out whats causing the error.[code]
I have created a static text in my FLA file and for some reason when I convert it to a movieclip symbol, my setting of the text - such as the letter spacing - are no longer. It scrunches together and looks pixelated. Any knowledge as to why? It was not doing this a while ago but I don't see what I have changed!
i have a .swf file which contains static text in it.. I have to get the static text from the .swf file... Is it possible to do in AS 2.0.. If it is yes means then show me a perfect direction to perform this one....
I would like to import text from a XML file into a dynamic text field. The XML file contains database records. I have found that Flash does not support the DOM command 'getElementsByTagName()' which I was endeavouring to use to find the record in the XML file that I wanted to associate with a particular dynamic text field.
Is there any other way to search through the XML file for the particular record I am looking for?
I see where i was going wrong however when i change the instance name like you said i 1120: Access of undefined property snakePart. all of this code btw is at document class level and the movieclips are in the library not on stage
I am trying to get simple example of it running. I can make it work if I publish in FlashPlayer10, but not FP 9
[Code]...
The reference material says Language Version : ActionScript 3.0Runtime Versions : AIR 1.0, Flash Player 9 Does this mean the AIR 1.0 and Flash Player 9 or what is the deal?the compile error is... 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method save through a reference with static type flash.net:FileReference.
I created a simple menu with subs using frame labels.The code on the main timeline of the loader page is:
var myLoader:Loader = new Loader(); myLoader.load(new URLRequest("main.swf")); addChild(myLoader);
The code on the menu navigation movie clip is:
stop(); function buttonClick(event:MouseEvent):void {[code]......
The buttons all have instance names but I keep getting the following errors
1119: Access of possibly undefined property myLoader through a reference with static type flash.display:DisplayObjectContainer. on the line - this.parent.myLoader.load(new URLRequest(event.target.name + ".swf"));
1120: Access of undefined property subclick. on the lines - ww_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, subclick);[code].....
I want to use Flash to build websites and am having difficulty with the navigation and loading external files.
I am trying to use my Flash app to update an XML file when a new user registers. I thought I had found a method to do this using the FileReference.save function. From various searches I understand the function is not as simple as it seems but I cannot get my head around what I need to do to get it working.Here is the code:
ActionScript Code: var newUserToAdd:String = "<user> <name>Steve</name>[code]............
This is the error I am getting at runtime: 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method save through a reference with static type flash.net:FileReference. Are ther any prerequisits I am missing in order to use the function?
