The first one does download:
Code:
var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader()
var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.utr-online.com/IVAORealtime.txt")
loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, loadcomplete)

in Flex I'm able to load a Image into an Image component (mx:Image) via a URL and it will display it, however in Flash if I try to load the same image via URL I get an unknown file type error. If I browse to the URL in a broswer, I can view the image.
Code: Select allFlash Error;
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type..
image url trying to load in flash;

I have a simple script that loads a xml and then reads the xml file to see what mp3's it has to load. But when i run it Flash throws an error:
Quote:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type.
While the mp3 file it is loading when giving this error is completely valid to Flash.

I'd like to have Flex trigger the browser to download a PDF file from a server, but if anything goes wrong with the script that generates the file I want to be able to throw a meaningful error from Flex. Is it at all possible to try to open the URL in Flex first and check the response's HTTP status or Content-Type, then if it's a PDF file and not an error pass it up to the browser to display the "Save File..." dialog?

I've got a situation that involves error #2174. Flash 10 apparently doesn't allow more than one upload/download/load/save at a time, but my code doesn't actually do that. A skeleton:

I'm making a system to upload photos to a gallery. I'm using filereference, and it's working alright. I can upload like 20 files fine sometimes.. but when I do like 50, it starts giving me errors on over half the files.
The error is: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
This may be a php error, or server error, I'm not sure. Because the file isn't even uploading at all.

I have got an error here i.e.,
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
at AddAttachment_fla::MainTimeline/AddAttachment_fla::frame1()
i.e., here "AddAttachment" is the name for .fla file.I had also referred Flash help( i.e., F1) for error recovery. But, there is no advantage.

I need to attempt to download a 1kb text file on startup to check if there is a connection. This is because of the environment.
I realised:
PHP Code:
//...testLoader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR,someErrorHandler)
or:
PHP Code:
try { //... testLoader.load(someURLRequest);}catch (e:Error){ someErrorHandler(); }

So I basically have used the fileReference class to allow the user to download a determined file if he wants to.
I use the file.download(URL) function and it works well.
However, the file is downloaded and saved to the hard drive using only the flash player. The browser is not aware of the download, and thus, if I want to show the progress of the download I'd have to make some progress bar myself. I know how to do it, but it would become really tedious and take too much UI space.
Isn't there a damn way in Flash to "send" a determined file to the browser so that it prompts the user to download it? It's an image file, so navigateToURL doesn't cut it since it will just display the image, both if I use a new tab or the current one.

I would like to know if there is any way to find out the destination path of the saved file using the download() method of the filereference class.Cos if that is possible then i could do navigateToURL(_path,_blank) to open that downloaded file in browser Or if there is any other way to do this i would like to know. [If any other thread exists please link to it which answers this]

This is driving me insane, because I actually had it working once and now I can't do it.
I have a .txt file that contains:
Code:
&solutionslink=/solutions/index.hml
In my .fla, attached to my button I have the following:
Code:
on (release)
{
getURL(solutionslink);
}
But when I hit the link I get //webserver/undefined instead of //webserver/solutions.html
I've done a trace and I get "/solutions/index.html"

I use fileReference.download() to download files. The fileReference send request to java servlet.In servlet, some error may be checked. For example error - 'File not found'. I want to send the error to flex side. I tried lots of methods,but fileReference in flex can't receive them.Such asresponse.sendError(HttpServletResponse.SC_NOT_FOUND, "File not found");r PrintWriter out = resp.getWriter(); out.print("File not found");It seems fileReference can't triggers event 'DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA' and'HTTPStatusEvent.HTTP_STATUS'.

I recently switch from AS2 to AS3 (too late - I know) and bump into (probably easy) problems now and then. I'm making this preloader in a class - I read that this might not be a good idea to put it in a class (?) - and I'm using a timer in it. But I keep getting this error message after simulating a download:
Code:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

which everything seems fine, but when i implement a slider on a page inside a folder in the root (i.e. aboutus/index.aspx) i get that error when the slider is trying to call the images.I have similar slider animations in pages located in the root folder and in those i get no problem at all, seems it only happens when the page is located inside a folder.The website is done using main.master on asp, maybe the cache or rendering of the website is missing something, hope someone has had something similar or know how to get around this.
