ActionScript 3.0 :: Download A Song Based On A Radio Button Selection?

I'm trying to allow users to download a song based on a radio button selection. And I've succeeded in getting the "save as" box to pop up, but for some reason, the file does not actually download and save after you hit the save button.

EDIT: Someone informed me that if the variables weren't defined OUTSIDE of the function then they would be garbage collected. I moved them outside but it is still behaving the same.

OK. So I have a group of radio buttons on the stage. If the user chooses one of the buttons and hits 'Submit' all is fine. If they fail to make a selection I want to show them an error. Using the code below works fine if this happens initially, but if the user makes a selection and hits 'Submit' the radGroup.selection is now true. So now if they do not make a selection the next time, when they hit 'Submit' it does not catch the error.

How do I create a download button for a song I have on my server. I just want a download window to pop out without the user having to leave the page.I tried this in the actions layer frame but it took me to the page only to listen to the song.[code]

I have 6 radio buttons spilt into two groups of 3 and one normal button.The first group of radio buttons correspond to colour and the second to texture.My aim is for the user to be able to chose a colour, then chose a texture by use of the radio buttons, click on the normal button named 'create' which loads a corresponding jpg onto another part of the stage according to the colour & texture selection.I am totally stuck on how to code the buttons so this can happen.I'm sure there is an easy (ish) way for this to happen, but i'm no expert and haven't been able to find it or work it out.I've named each radio button individually, grouped the two sets of radio buttons for colour & texture and named the normal button.

I have created a movieclip that is simply asking a question and the user chooses from a list of Radio buttons.I have set this up and it works fine, but I cannot figure out how to set up a "Next" button or a "Submit" button that, depending on the radio button choice made, the user goes to a specific frame or label.I bought the Adobe Flash CS5 bible, but there seems to be little information on controlling Radio buttons, only how to set them up to test.

I am in the process of learning AS 3 and Flash on my own and currently using the Actionscript 3.0 Adobe Classroom in a book CS4 version. Having a problem with the Lesson Adendum if anyone has done it. This lession requires you to create two buttons. They both draw shapes on the stage. When one is clicked, it draws Rectangles on the stage following the mouse movement. When the other is clicked, it draws Ellipses instead. The problem I am having is that it just draws rectangles and not ellipses when the 2nd button is clicked. Would be greatful if someone could tell me what i am doirng wrong. I want to display checkbox or button at the same position based on user role. How can I do this. I cannot give x and y position same for both radio button and button as I will not know the location in my application. Is there any other way by which I can display only one component based on boolean value.

I have a list of mp3-songs, when song 1 is clicked it gets streamed, a stop-button appears, if this Btn is clicked, this Btn disappears as it should - but if user forgets to click for stopping sound and clicks song 2, stopBtn 1 remains and the new stopBtn 2 also appears. there should be only one stopBtn, the one next to the song is playing.
I would like to move the stopBtn and I have tried several approaches move; graphics.moveTo; if(stopButton !=null) {removeChild (stopButton)}; I packed the var stopButton:Sprite in the header and so on.

I'm developing an Adobe Air application for Android using ActionScript 3.0 (I'm not using Flex).I'm trying to use radio buttons and a radio button group, but they aren't available on ActionScript mobile.I'm using Flash Builder 4.5.1 Standard and when I want to import fl.controls it complains saying that it isn't available.Is there any other control that I can use instead of radio buttons?

I am having a problem getting radio button data into php and I can not seem to find any answers. My project is simple I have a group of radio buttons, when one is selected and a submit button is pressed I want the data from the radio button to populate the subject line of an email and send it.I can make a form work with input fields but not with radio button data.

I've got a huge survey I've made with lots and lots of groups of radio buttons. There are maybe 60 questions with 6 buttons each. Of these, I have a couple of groups that are really misbehaving. What's happening is for one question, the first button in the group seems independent of the rest. That is, I can check the first radio button and it never turns off when clicking others in the same group.
All my code is right. I'm using the exact same code with all the other groups and only two groups aren't working right. Ha. That's the funny thing, though, because everything works fine IN Flash, but publishing to a web page, these two groups stop working right.FWIW, I've set the first instance of the radio button with a name like "G10" then all the buttons in the group have the group name "Q10".I've tried several ways of fixing this including deleting the whole group and adding them again, copying a working group and renaming the parts. Nothing. The one thing that has worked (and don't ask me why) but adding a new single radio button with a new instance and group name has fixed other problem groups but not these two.

We've all been to driver download pages where you select your model from one combobox list and then that choice populates the next combobox of choices and then that combobox choice spawns a link to the driver.Combobox 1 will display a list of 14 items. I am making flash CS4-based music player with ActionScript 3. When I host the player on my site, e.g. [URL], and play an mp3 on the server of my site, e.g.[URL], it works well.
When I link to an mp3 of another site, e.g. [URL], in my local machine, it also works. However, when I host the music player in my site [URL], and play an mp3 of [URL], then it can't be played.

how I would go about to accomplish the following:
There should be 3 dropdown menus with predefined words
1. First menu has 3 predefined options
2. The second dropdown has 5 options.
3. The third dropdown has 3 options
--> Depending on which word is selected in dropdown #2, an img (of a total of 5 possibilities) is being displayed
In addition there is a dynamic textfield, where you can enter a name, which should then be displayed along with the img.

Here is what I'm trying to do. I have a sunroom product that is available with several different options. I have created images of every possible combination of options, and named the files like this:
DeckFurniture_NoVisor_ClearGlass_View1.jpg
Hot Tub_Visor_TintedGlass_View3.jpg
I want users to be able to choose their options, and have the appropriate picture be displayed. So to get the above image, they'd have to choose "Deck Furniture" "No Visor" "Clear Glass" and "View 1". Or to get the other one they'd choose "Hot Tub" "Yes Visor" "Tinted Glass" and "View 3"
It's not necessary to have it auto-update the image, so I was thinking they could choose their options and then click "Update", and that would in a sense pull up the correct filename from the options they've chosen. I'm not exactly sure how to tell Flash to change this master variable (the filename) whenever one of the sub-variables (pieces in the filename) change. Would I have to put a script on each option button telling it when it gets selected to change the master variable?

I'm trying to make a little program. It works right now by drawing the top shape to the dark gray area, where it then copies itself and changes color. The new shape can be re-dragged as well. What I want to do now is add a dynamic border when I click on the new object, I want the box to adjust to an appropriate size. And on mouse release I want the selection border to disappear on the new shape. I want the selection border to be dashed much like you find in many of Adobe's programs, if at all possible.

I have a simple TLF text box on stage. i want to be able to click some words in the text and based on the selection clicked got to some other place on a timeline or set a variable (not a link to an external web page).
sounds like it shout be simple but i cannot seem to find any information about it.
i seem to remember having done something similar years ago in as1 or as2.

i started with a Multiple mp3 players project and i more complicated with that - as you see in the picture i try to do that when click on the play button for every song this switch the song that selected -first preloading + percentage the mp3 file and after play it immediately and of course there is stop button, pause button when choose a song the previously that play will be muted

I am writing a mp3 player and having some issue getting the song length before the entire song has been loaded - which messes with my position indicator, as it needs to know the track length. I thought I could get the length from an ID3 tag, problem is ID3.TLEN returns undefined, though if I right click the track and show properties, the summary tab shows song duration, bitrate, etc... how I can retrieve the song length before the entire thing has been downloaded?

I am creating a project and I want the user when they hover over my button to have a song play, when the user leaves the over state, the song stops, I can't seem to get it to work. Here is what I am doing, I have my button, inside the button on the over state I nest a Movie Clip, inside of that I bring in the song, in the properties I set it to "Start" and "Repeat x 0".
When I load the SWF it automatically plays.I've tried adding some AS3 to it but I can't seem to get it to work. like "stop();" which did nothing.I did some googling and found "SoundMixer.stopAll();" which does stop the song from loading on start.

I have a flash website that uses an XML player to play the artist's songs. The player works great. Now, I need a specific button in the flash document to call and play a specific song title from the XML list.
