I have a scrollPane that I am removing from the stage that has scrollDrag = true. When its removed however I get this error when clicking on other objects and the stage.TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
View 15 RepliesIn my flash application, I've got multiple windows which use Scrollpanes. The scrollDrag property is set to true on these because I want that functionality. If I close (within my application) one of these 'windows' and open another, I seem to get a whole lot of this error showing up in my logs:TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.at fl.containers::ScrollPane/endDrag()Sometimes I get thousands of these, which I'm guessing is probably slowing my app down a bit, but otherwise is not causing a problem. Looking through the adobe code for scrollpane, endDrag is really simple:

The stage var is the only thing that could be null here.The only thing I can think to do is set scrollDrag=false before the window in my application closes so that nothing is listening for the event

View 1 RepliesI have a scrollpane component that is scrolling a movie object.I need to be able to use scrollDrag since it is an app for my phone.It works on the phone, but when I test it on the computer I get an error that I'm guessing will slow the app down as I keep using it.

When I click on the scrollpane to pull up the component properties, if I uncheck scrollDrag the error message go away, but it will not scroll on the phone.When I check the box, it works on the phone but the error message comes back.I don't see a place to put any kind of value in for the scrollDrag in the component properties to keep from having a null reference.
Here is the code I am using with the scrollpane where Scroller1 is the scrollpane and contentslist01 is the movie I'm pulling up in the scrollpane:

This is the error I cannot seem to understand. On the stage I have a movie clip, mcTree. It's keyframe is in frame 3143. There is no tween or anything. In frame 3144, I have the following actionscript:
mcTree.gotoAndStop(2);
I publish the movie and I get to frame 3144 then BAM TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
at 2file_fla::MainTimeline/frame3144()
As you can tell, I'm more than 3000 frames into my animation here and have made it this far using this method, and it has worked.

But I try to put the component in the parent fla and it doesn't change anything and I still have the 1009 error. Any idea ?
Starting new thread for this topic as suggested by forum. I have a website which tweens movieclip pages (named home, bio, music, video and contact). Love the effect and trying to keep it. Main timeline contains the main buttons (home_btn, bio_btn, music btn, video_btn, contact_btn). Music page has a XML mp3 player contained in it with button control. Video page has an encoded video with no code.
I need the following:
1 - Music and video to shut off as those pages/movieclips tween off the stage. Gets annoying with them playing especially at the same time
2 - Music player to play correctly. It is not with the new code.
I have the following code. The "Tween Code" is on frame 1 of the main timeline of the movie. The "MP3 code" is on frame 1 of the music movie clip. I am getting the following ERROR message when running my movie. I ran the Debugger as I publish and it points to music.my_channel.stop(); in below code. Preloader Movie clip is the first one getting loaded. As i understood the error is getting thrown initially itself, and it is not happening due to any Action script logic written inline, because it is throwing error even before hitting the first inline AS code.I am not able to figure Out what exactly it causing the problem, or where to resolve it. I am trying to use the scroll pane component and I am having a few teething troubles. I have a scroll pane as a child object of a movie clip which is essentially a 'page', if I display this page it works fine and the scroll pane does too. If I then remove this page from the display list, go to another page and come back by readding it to the display list, I get the following error, even though nothing else has changed:

The scroll pane is still visible and works correctly, but ideally I'd like to stop this error.

When I try to run this code with the main file being documentclass and the highest in the code heirarchy, it comes up with error 1009, but I cant see the problem. The playscreen class with the constructer function is there, in the same folder as the document class but document class is saying it is a null object reference. When I try to run the code with the main file being playscreen, there is no problem, it runs perfectly.

I got CS4 for Cristmas, and I am having trouble with my buttons. I have a button on each frame programmed to go to the next frame when I click it. All of the buttons worked fine until I put a movie clip on frame 12. Now when I click to get to frame 13, it goes back to frame 7. This is what it says in the output:

This might be alittle complicated to explain but I'll try to do my best.I have a basic setup of 3x4 isometric boxes that you can drag and sort around on a grid. This works just fine. Each box is a instance of a custom class of mine called Kiste (which consists of several sub-objects).hile sorting I have to use a procedure like this to get the parent Kiste-object of the dropTarget as droptarget will always get me the "lowest" object possible instead of the topmost:

The current problem with my code is everytime I press the play again button in frame 4 and I restart my game it goes twice as fast. So I asked my teacher and she told me it's something with the EventHandlers but I didn't used them in my code.She's of no help to me currently.
