Im building a pretty simple drawing board in flash, i got this code from this forum and it works fine (there is more to it but this is the drawing part)[code]This works fine. But i want to be able to erase the drawings, step by step this is ths tricky part, ive looked everywhere(ok not everywhere) but in a whole lot of places but the only thing i found is how i could delete everything with removeChild and that in not what i want. Maybe i need to change the function abowe? Please help me to get in the right direction. What should i read about /look at?
If I have a sprite, with which I have drawn some stuff, how do I erase part of what I have drawn? Preferably I could use drawRect with some "alpha=0" paint. However, I don't believe beginFill lets you set an rgba color (like you can in bitmapdata). Setting alpha = 0 in beginFill doesn't really do anything -- it just draws nothing. In my particular use case, masking isn't an option. Also, calling clear() isn't a good solution since it clears away everything.
I want to create worm game with actionscript. First of all, i will create the ground with vector draw. By using actionscript, is there a way to edit or delete part of the vector draw(ground) when the target(shooting) hit the ground?

I have a Sprite that I draw into using lineTo. Later the sprite is drawn into a bitmap to add to a mask. That works great. The issue is erasing the vectors in the Sprite once they are drawn.
To draw I just do something like: userDrawing.graphics.lineStyle(12,0x000000,1); userDrawing.graphics.lineTo(mouseX,mouseY)
I found this code on a forum which allows for an undo and erase button for a drawing application (and is perfect for what I need) but it's in AS2 and I can barely make sense of it:
Code: _root.attachMovie("canvas", "canvas", 0); d = 0;
I am making a flex whiteboard application where lines are drawn over an image here is the scenario:
1: main canvas holding the background image and drawing canvas 2: user can move image by dragging image 3: user can draw over image, which is actually drawing on canvas over image.
I'm having problem on erasing lines like it eraser in paint. Searched evry where but didnot find a way to erase drawn lines

I have a map of isometric buildings that the player walks around. in the image I have 1 and 3 working fine. I find the corner points of the building and test it against the players location and sort out their depths. easy.but 2 and 4 are the trouble makers. the left and right side of the building.because its isometric there is that diagonal line making up the sides.my only idea so far is to draw a line box around the building at test collisions against the "feet" of the player. but to do that I must draw a box and make it invisible but still be testable against only the bottom portion of the player, the players feet.
I'm using FlashDevelop, trying to create a wipe away effect. But for some reason, if you hold the mouse button down for a little while in one place, the underlying image (ice) gets erased and reveals the default background. How do I prevent that from happening?
What would be the best way to get my random background to fade in? It is loaded using an XML file, and the images are large so when the site loads it takes a sec then... BAM - - image, lol.Heres my code:
Is it possible to detect (dynamically) the white pixels of an image and delete them? Actually i have some images that i load on stage but they are square without the actual image be a square sized. So i want to make the hit area exactly the shape of the image and not the whit border they have.
I would like to make a very simple (well, looks simple anyway) image gallery, like Ilyas da Pom's at [URL]..
I want the image part to scale to fit each image dynamically. I'm a brand-spanking new Flash novice, and any guidance would help really; this is just a tiny little personal project, not to be used anywhere commercially.
i've created a simple drawing application with colors, a clear button, and a save function, but my problem is i want what people draw to become the head of a character in my animation.I would LOVE a transparent backround too to whatever they draw,
I want to embed some video into my HTML page. As background I want to use big picture. And above it I want to insert loop video with (i.e.) walking man.So, can I embed video (without flash and any player controls) in page? Can I decode video with transparent background? Is there any codecs which support transparent background (alpha-channel)?
I've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.
I am relatively new to Flash CS3 and i have been learning Action-script 3 over the past week. I have come quite a long way and i have made a site in flash but i just have a question.I have been using an image as my background and i am happy with the way flash automatically scales all the objects in my file but the background image does not scale. Is there a way to do this? I have found out things online which show me how to add auto-resizing to the background but this knocks off the flash auto scaling/resizing for everything else.
