i am doing this using variables.caption1.thecaption[0],variables.caption2.thecaption[1] etc....the trouble comes in that the number of variables have to equal the number of images....so i have to recompile this program as the number of images change...is there a way to code this with some sort of loop?

View 3 RepliesAs known, each subsequent time that the FileReferenceList.browse() method is called, the FileReferenceList.fileList property is reset to the file(s) that the user selects in the dialog box. And my question is:
How to manage to "remember" all previously selected files, each subsequent time that the FileReferenceList.browse() method is called? so that to append new ones and upload them all later on.
I have been working on a flex uploader, where the user can select multiple files.It works fine when the files are uploaded in a queue (one at a time), however as soon as I try to have it upload 2 files at once I run into issues.
It seems that files will often lock up, and either stay at 1% until every other file is uploaded, or just not complete at all. There is never more than one file uploading at a time.Is there some issue with calling .upload on multiple files at once in Flex?
I have created the multiple file uploading functionality in flash by using the FileReference method. But i need to stop and skip the uploading file while upload is in progress when we click the respective stop and skip buttons. I have the progressbar in which the two buttons are placed

View 2 RepliesI made a multiple file uploader with resize. All works fine, but sometimes uploading fails and nothing happens.
I've spent many times to find out why this happens, but with no result.
I assume error can be caused by variables that goes after import declarations. Maybe some of they are destroyed by the garbage collection? Or maybe my eventListeners are wrong?

I added eventListeners for handling errors (IOException etc.), but none of they was triggered. So now I've removed that listeners to simplify the code.
Do you have any thoughts about why uploading interrupt sometimes? Or maybe you notice some errors in my code?
I have a flash form that sends a monthly report that users fill out to a php file, which sends it to a MS SQL database. This issue I am having is that anything larger then 1300 characters entered into the flash form will not work at all. If I reduce the amount of text to 1300 characters or less, it will send it to the php and database just fine. My research shows that a flash variable should be able to handle 65,000 characters, and when I trace my output from flash to php, all of the data is being traced. however, it is not being send to php. I am using LoadVars to send the data with _GET. So is this a php issue, or a flash issue? I ran a php info page and my max_post is set to 10M that should be enough to handle this load. I am not sure why it is not working with anything larger then 1300 characters. Below is my code for my php and flash files.
The variables that are affected by this are the testEvlauation, projects, support, and programManagement variables. I need them to send at least 8000 characters a peice to the php file.

I coded a multiple file uploader using the FileReferenceList and PHP. It works great for me all the time on my Fios internet connection, which is by far faster then DSL, etc... So my issue kinda went unnoticed until I got on a DSL connection. Now, many of the files I was uploading seem to be timing out, but there is no indication of this. No errors, etc... just stops its progress and NEVER finishes. Tried bumping up the script execution time on the server

There is then a submit button at the bottom.
This is quite primitive, and as far as my flash allows me. The bit I am stuck with is that I need to send the data then to a .PHP file that will then forward this to the correct people (this bit is already done for me).
sending this information (e.g. Phone Number, Country, Language etc) to the .PHP file.
I had someone who had compiled my flash site as I have three forms integrated into my flash website [URL] on the left side you see a "Refinance", "Purchase", and "Loss Mitigation" but I had to do some edits on it and someone else had to work on it and the original person I can't get in contact with and I didn't have the original FLA file so something happens when someone fills out any of the forms to the left....no data is sent! I receive the email but it is blank! I have several flash forms I downloaded to see how I would get the script to go but I can't seem to figure it out!

I was successfull in creating the page that can send the data to the DB but I'm not able to figure out a way to write the actionscript where the thanks message frame loads after we submit the data. I want to upload data (not a local file) with Flex (4.1), and show what the progress is of the bytes sent. Now I use a URLLoader, but I know that URLLoader was designed to download data, I can connect a listener to ProgressEvent.PROGRESS but that has no effect. I also know there is a FileReference object which supports uploading. The problem here is, I do not want to browse for a file and upload it. I have a byte array which I want to send to the server, but the data property of FileReference is read-only. How can I send the byte array (which is actually a PNG encoded image) to the server and be able to track the progress of the bytes sent to server?

I can send the information via getURL but I want to send the data without opening a browser window so I am utilizing sendAndLoad. It works great locally but not through a browser (tested in IE and Firefox).
