Actionscript 3.0 :: Method Not Found Error

I bought this oreilly book on FMS and one of the examples that I am trying to recreate is giving me the following error.
Accepted a connection from IP:1.1.1.100
Sending error message: Method not found (streamSelect).
This is the simple two way video chat example using the code pasted below. I assume it has something to do with the directory/path structure
NOTE: THIS IS NOT my code creation. I got it from a book with the intention of learning by example. Unfortunately the example is not working for me.
ServerSide .asc sits in a folder "applications/deux" i.e "rtmp://10.10.10.12/deux"

ok, so I got the broadcast running as SE suggested, everything is running smooth local and live except for one thing.every 45 seconds or so, I the encoder displays an error while broadcasting. the broadcast however continues, so I went to the error log in application.00.log. and this is what was there:I'm assuming it has something to do with the length of the file, when I look in the folder that saves the broadcast, is dozens of files that have approx size 1 mb. As the broadcast goes, I see the file being created, and then when it reaches about 1 mb, a new one is born. it ?

I got this error when i am trying to connect on rtmp://172.31.14.91/live/livestream. Accepted a connection from IP:172.31.14.91, referrer: , pageurl: Sending error message: Method not found (getStreamLength). I don't have any problems with vod but on live streaming is so hard for me to get it.My encoder is a Media live encoder 3 and the media server is media server 3.5.

and compile it, the error pop up like the above (in the title) ReferenceError: Error #1070: Method addchild not found on flash.display.MovieClip I don't understand, could someone point out what is the error in my code?

I'm working on a Flex application that processes and displays small amounts of HTML, sometimes including images. I'm getting the HTML out of third-party RSS feeds. Sometimes, I see this in a pop-up window: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
The RSS URL is just fine, but there's apparently something in the downloaded HTML that's causing a problem. Since the application is meant to run as part of a non-interactive digital sign, anything that requires a click to continue is completely unacceptable. I don't care how useless or malformed a URL is; the app needs to ignore the problem without pestering the user.
Unfortunately, I'm having no luck trapping this event. I'm sprinkling calls like this liberally through the code: [object].addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, handleIOError); where [object] is everything from the mx:Text object rendering the HTML to its mx:Canvas parent to the mx:Application top-level app, and handleIOError is a simple function that looks like this:

I'm building a site for a friend and I am having trouble getting rid of "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found". I have the main site and 4 other swf's which are supposed to load and unload at the click of a button all together in a folder. Now, I've triple, quadruple-checked all paths and they're the same. I am designing a mini-website that loads external swfs. One of my swfs is missing, so when I hit the button whose function is to load it, I get an output message that says:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
So far, this makes sense to me. I got curious about how to let the user know that the swf is missing or otherwise let him or her know that I made a mistake, so I've learned about IO_ERROR. I came up with the following code and now I am not getting any error messages - but also nothing is happening. If there is content in the Loader already, it doesn't go away. If the Loader is empty, it stays empty.

1.) I have the following exact code for a button in a keyframe on the timeline (not in the button itself and of course excluding the quotes)

and I get the following error when I try and preview in Flash CS3 1087 : Syntax error: extra characters found after end of program.
2.) Also, I have another layer with a "stop" action taking place at the same time that this button occurrs, however, once I have the script in the keyframe for the button, it seems to override the stop action. So, basicly, IM looking to stop the movie and get this button to, once clicked, open a web address.

i am currently working on a user interface based project using as3,cs4 and xml, all of which is working fine except when i launch the .swf and this error appears in the output box

this is confusinig though as channelslide doesnt not exist anymore and after debuging the .swf several times to see if it was being referenced in the code i found that channelslide is not referenced at all.

I used the code below to make a preloader and it works fine when I try it locally, but gives me the following error when I try to use it in a website: "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found." The preloader is a swf that pulls in another swf after it loads. Also when I use the swf that the preloader is pulling in, it also works.

After struggling for days, it seems I finally got the variable referencing between classes and custom event problems sorted out. Now I got a question regarding the Error #2044 and Error #2035. The error reads like this:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
I've put all the swf in the same directory, so I don't think that is the problem. Could it be that my XML file is in another directory that's causing the problem? I also heard having quotes in the URL in the XML file could also be problematic. Is that true? Here are my AS and my XML file.

I am developing a photo gallery using the UILoader to load external (larger resolution) images after the thumbnail is clicked on. It appears everything is working when I test the movie, except I receive this error:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
Again the loader shows, and the picture loads when it is done, I'm just not sure about that error message. The action script for clicking on the thumbnail is:

I want to load as many bitmaps as are in a folder, looping back to the 1st when I run out of files. I've modified code I found elsewhere for the error trapping, but it doesn't work. Starting new thread for this topic as suggested by forum. I have a website which tweens movieclip pages (named home, bio, music, video and contact). Love the effect and trying to keep it. Main timeline contains the main buttons (home_btn, bio_btn, music btn, video_btn, contact_btn). Music page has a XML mp3 player contained in it with button control. Video page has an encoded video with no code.
I need the following:
1 - Music and video to shut off as those pages/movieclips tween off the stage. Gets annoying with them playing especially at the same time
2 - Music player to play correctly. It is not with the new code.
I have the following code. The "Tween Code" is on frame 1 of the main timeline of the movie. The "MP3 code" is on frame 1 of the music movie clip. I am getting the following ERROR message when running my movie. I ran the Debugger as I publish and it points to music.my_channel.stop(); in below code. My thought process on this was that it would reach out to the music movieclip, find my_channel and stop it.

I am trying to emulate (in a limited way) the behavior of JavaScript's XMLHttpRequest object through Flash/ActionScript 3, in order to overcome the same-domain limitation. But I'm discovering that ActionScript has its own limitations in that regard. I admit that I might be mistaken, but from what I understand it is theoretically still possible to do this sort of cross-domain scripting using ActionScript, so long as you get all the permissions right. And that's where I'm running into trouble.
First, I borrowed some open-source code for a class called AjaxRequest, which I have saved as /ajax/AjaxRequest.as. I then created a Flash file called /jsajax.fla which exports to the final SWF file, /jsajax.swf. Now, here's the ActionScript code that comprises the first and only frame of the Flash file:
