IDE :: Myriad Pro When Going From CS4 To CS5
Apr 8, 2011
I'm working on a banner for a client. When working on CS4 it displayed the Myriad Pro font in dynamic textfields. But in CS5 the textfields turn up blank. The font i embedded correctly but doesn't show up. Myriad Pro Regular works like a charm, but Myriad Pro Bold doesn't show up at all. Sometimes when i open up the fla in cs5 some text have graphic fault looking all stretched and tweaked. Restarting Cs5 a few times removes the graphic errors

I has problem displaying T with a comma under it and S with a comma under it.
I've tried to send it encoded as UTF-8, ISO-8859-1/2 but it does not display in flash.
The PHP script creates the XML with DOMDocument class.[URL]... I need to find a way to display these characters.

I'm trying to embed and display text using the "Myriad Pro" family. 'Regular', 'Bold', and 'Light' display ok, but 'Semibold' shows no text. I get no error messages. I use exacty the same procedure as for the other styles. E.g. the following:

I can't seem to get the Copyright symbol to display with Myriad Pro. The font embeds properly and displays fine, just the symbol won't show up. I've tried:
- Embedding an swf with the font embedded in it with the '' set to be included, when I export it the symbol is there.
- Embedding the otf file for the typeface.
- Tried embedding other typefaces otf files.
Actionscript Code:
FontEmbed.as: [Embed(source='fonts/myriad/MyriadPro-Semibold.otf', fontWeight='semibold', fontFamily = "Myriad Pro", mimeType='application/x-font')]public static var MyriadSemibold:Class; public function FontEmbed(){ Font.registerFont(MyriadSemibold);} public static var MYRIAD_SEMIBOLD:TextFormat = new TextFormat("Myriad Pro Semibold", 24, 0x000000,
[code]....
I get the full line of text, so it seems like it's an embedding issue.
