View 1 RepliesI am unable to add the Action Script 3 FLVPlayback component to my stage or library in Flash CS5.5 when working with an action script 3 document.
Under components in the video folder i click and drag anyone of the FLVPlayback components (FLVPlayback, FLVPlayback 2.5 or FLVPlaybackCaptioning) to the stage and nothing happens. I am unable to add it to my library as well. All the other actionscript 3 components under the Video folder work. (BackButton, BufferingBar, CaptionButton, If I create an actionscript 2 document the FLVPlayback component drags to the stage and adds to the library just fine. So this appears to be an actionscript 3 issue only.
I have 2 other employees in my office using the same product and none of them have this issue. Only me.
I have tried to uninstall the product and reinstall but nothing helps. I have Flash CS3 installed on my PC and the product has the same symptoms as the Flash CS5.5 trial version that I am running.
I did not try this with Flash CS3 before I installed the CS5 trial. So I do not know if it worked prior to my CS5 evaluation.
I have an interactive presentation which will have a small barker video with audio in the corner which will play through and loop as the user is moving through the presentation. On some screens of the presentation, I won't have room for the video, so I'll need to hide the video, but continue to play the audio from the same point.I thought the easiest way to accomplish this would be to just use a "skinless" FLVPlayback component which I could then just set to visible=false when I need to hide the video.
However, the FLVPlayback component seems to want a URL to an external FLV file. I would prefer to just include the FLV in the FLA's library, so that I don't have to keep track where the external FLV is, or make sure that the published SWF can find the folder where the external FLV is stored.So, is there a way to point FLVPlayback.source to an FLV asset in the Library instead of giving it an external URL?I realize I could just import the FLV to the library and add it to the stage manually at authortime;
I have attached a video on a frame of my website in Flash. When I preview the movie the film plays as it should.But when I export the Fla. as a Swf. file it then doesn't have the movie there anymore?It does show this error:
**Warning** The linkage identifier 'FLVPlayback' was already assigned to the symbol 'Video/FLVPlayback', and cannot be assigned to the symbol 'FLVPlayback', since linkage identifiers must be unique.
I really don't know what that refers too.
I am working in two different applications, one to be compiled for desktop use (AIR) and one to be compiled for the web. They are part of the same project and use the same visual components, but they are completely different apps. When a visual component is changed in one application then it should also change in the other one. Is this a good situation to use a shared library fla? I am new to the concept of shared libraries and I am considering the options.
On one had I would not have to update 2 applications everytime I change something, on the other, I would always have to recompile the library folder when I do the smallest changes to a component.
I'm working on a "TV" in Flash where I use several videos running at the same time, so the videos tend to be lagging in the beginning. I think I would need a loading bar to show the user when the TV is ready to be turned on. I can submit the fla-file as well if that is necessary.[code]...

View 3 RepliesI have a clip with one FLVPlayback component and several buttons which load different flvs into the component. If you click one button, then quickly click another button before the flv is ready to play from the last button, it tries to load both, and the component disappears.I put a trace to print out the source I'm loading, and a trace on the Ready event to tell me what the source of the component is, and I get something like this.[code]I should only get the second ready trace, because loading the second vid should override the loading of the first.So is there some way to kill the loading process before loading the next vid? I tried closeVideo Player, but I'm not using netStream, and I only have one video player, so I don't want to delete it.

i have an flvplayback component on stage, named the instance flvPlayer and added this code to frame 1, so a video loads in it. flvPlayer.source = "clip1.flv";
the videos plays from the local folder perfectly. I need a code that when the video ends, it jumps and stop to frame 1 of scene2.

The problem is that the cloudfront requires authentication in the form of query strings in the source FLV. For example:[code]It adds on "&FLVPlaybackVersion= 2.1" to the end.I saw a different article that said I should add a dummy variable at the end like "&dummy=.flv" because I was told that Flash is basically looking for an .flv extension at the end and you can trick it, but it doesn't work because they add on additional code.

After two hours of headacke, I delete NCManager (I've made a copy on my USB key).I try to place a FLVPlayback on my scene : no problem ! I can place it, but it does'nt work as I want.So I discover that even I try to change NCManager, this file isn't read.I need help to understand what I must do when I modify these file. View 14 RepliesIs there anyway to have a projector ALWAYS fullscreen, and use an flvplayback component with fullscreen button at the same time? It seems that they're somehow incompatible. If I have multiple instances of an flvplayback component on different scenes, when the projector is fullscreen, jumping to a scene with an flvplayback on it, leads to having a black screen only!

View 3 RepliesHow would I go about using an external video in which the video would scrub (or move forward or rewind) when the user clicks on an object and drags the object left or right? I want to make a site in which the user has control over the movie, and when they choose left or right, the video will scrub to a certain cue point. wants it hits that cue point, the video will seek to another cue point and the story will continue. I want to make it so when the user clicks on the person, and drags them, it scrubs through the video as if the person is walking in a certain direction. I think I have the cue points set up properly, now to just figure out the rest.

View 5 RepliesFirst post here, I am a flash newbie. I have a fully completed player I have created using standard CS4 component, FLVPLayback, PlayButton, PauseButton, MuteButton and Seekbar. Everything works fine. I would now like to add and additional large centered play/pause button a la youTube.
I am completely stumped, I have tried duplicating the play button instance and quite a few other things (copying the actionscript from the original button that works) to the new button. I've investigated 'linkage' all to no avail, I can't get it to work.

I'm using the flvPlayback/flvPlaybackCaptioning components.My file works perfectly when I test the movie within Flash.When I publish it,I cannot see any video, even on my own PC.I have the fla, flv and xml files in the same directory.In flvPlayback component,I have skin set to None and I'm using a captionButton and playPauseButton.The source has the flv filename and autoPlay is set to False.In flvPlaybackCaptioning, source has the xml filename and the captionTargetName has the textbox instance.showCaption is set to False. Everything works fine until I insert the captioning elements. The captioning works perfectly when testing.I can't see where I've gone wrong.
View 2 RepliesIs it possible when publishing a Flash CS4 file to have the Video swf and the Skin swf be in one swf file? I have a Flash CS4 (AS2) file that has a FLVPlayback Component. When I publish or test movie 2 swfs are output. I need only 1 swf as I am then going to insert this 1 swf into a Captivate 4 project. When I insert the video swf by itself into Captivate 4, I do not have a play bar/skin. If it is not possible to publish as one swf, how I can insert the 2 swfs into a Captivate file and get them to work?
View 3 RepliesI am trying to set a custom skin URL on an FLVPlayback object. The object is on the stage named vid. When I have the following code: vid.skin = '[URL]'; I get the following error when debugging in the CS5 IDE: Error #1014: Class fl.video::UIManager could not be found When publishing the file to an SWF it "dies" (it stops video playback) at exactly the same point. There is no error message or other indication of what happens in the browser. The flash still seems to work, it responds to ExternalInterface events. It just refuses to play the video. I'm using FLVPlayback 2.5.0.26 with Flash Pro 11.0.2.489 on Win7 64-bit.
How do I fix this? If I comment out the video.skin assignment then the video plays great (except there are no play/pause controls). But when I try to set it I get this internal Flash error. Incidentally if I assign vid.skin = 'invalid/url' then it doesn't die, instead it gives me a warning that the skin cannot be found. The valid.swf url is a copy of the MinimaFlatCustomPlayBackSeekCounterVolMuteFull.swf skin that comes with CS5.

Some of the "skins" for the FLVPlayback component cannot be used as delivered in the Flash Professional CS5 package.
For instance, if you try simply to run the .swf file: MinimaSilverPlayBackSeekCounterVolMuteFull.swf in Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Flash CS5/Common/Configuration/FLVPlayback skins/ActionScript 3.0, you get the following error message:
VerifyError: Error #1014: Class fl.video::UIManager could not be found.
Such a skin cannot be used in a published application (though it will work within the Flash IDE in Test mode).
Not all the skins have this problem. However, at least all of the Minima prefixed ones do. Of course the one I wish to use is broken. Is there a way I can fix this? If I try to publish the corresponding .fla (in FLVPlayback skins/FLA/Action Script 3.0 I get "Warning: unable to load SWC FLVPlaybackAS2.swc".
Is it possible to globally find/replace FLVPlayback parameters (e.g. contentPath, skinAutoHide, etc.) so that parameters can be changed globally throughout movie? I'm using Flash CS3 with ActionScript 2. Or, is there a way to override the FLV parameters at runtime using AS2?

View 4 RepliesI have read that the FLVPlayback component has been optimized for the iPad, but I can't get it to work at all.I had it working, albeit poorly, in CS5.But the same app, published with CD5.5, just shows a flickering FLV icon instead of video.
