Server Side :: Create A MySQL Database In Which People Can Sign Up/log In?
Dec 13, 2003
First: I want to create a sort of webshop and I want to create a MySQL database in which people can sign up/log in.How can I create this in FlashMX + PHP + MySQL.I want people to log in, sign up and the database should register what people bought the last time(s) they visited.
Now for my second question:For this shop I have a section on the homepage with news. This sections needs to display the news and have a link to the archives. Each newsitem is an images that contains the news. How can I make Flash loads in the news dynamicaly and let Flash detect if there is an archive (archive = more than 3 newsitems in folder) and if there is one, display it?
I have a Flex application which manage a database composed by 7 tables.I have created the insert form and all work great. Now I wanto to improve the Form performances; the idea is to replace the TextInput of the Form with ComboBoxes which are provided by the DataBase tables
I want to create a video chat application between 2 people and I want to record the dialouge between the two people to one audio file, so both of then can play back the dialouge at a later time.
I create a Flex application that works with a browser using a database with the MySQL server that I can create, modify and delete data from a database. The problem I encounter now is that I want to see my program with Adobe AIR (virtual machine). At the display that does not pose a problem. The problem is that air can not reach the database server is located in the MySQ. the error message displayed is as follows: "Error : client.Error.MessageSend - Channel.connect.failed error tConnection.Call.Failled : HTTP: Status 404:url:'[URL]"
I need to create a login page in my flash site that relates to information input to a mysql database. after the submit their information we want to send them a link to a differnt flash page with a login screen they will use their first name and a password (already in our database) to gain access to this "new" page. on that page there will be a welcome message that says "Welcome, User First Name" so I guess i have two questions
1: how do i set up a login page?
2: how do i pull that login info to a welcome page?
I want to download files from the server side to client side without prompting a window to the user to download when any updates happen at server side.Right now I am using urlstream class but first file is downloading completely rest of the files contents downloading partially.
editCode sample taken from other post. Warning: it's a huuuge chunk o'code.
I wonder if it is possible to pre-configurate Flex Elements on the Server. I have the Problem with a custom ItemRenderer which turns out to be very slow. It would be very cool to pre-process such an element on the server instead in the clients browser... somehow? Maybe it is possible to produce the MXML dynamically on the server for that.
This is it basically. I create a Label for each data entry in an array list. This entry is added to a BorderContainer and this goes to the containing element as a whole here. Sometimes i add 200 - 300 items this way which is costing very high computing cost at client side. So i wonderd if i could just pass this as a whole dynamic mxml element to the client.[code]...
Below is the code. When the swf is connected to FMS(the connection is successful) I use this application.user_so.send("enterContestGroup"); to call the client side mothed. You can see that in the client side I have defined the "enterContestGroup" mothed. However the fact is it doesn't call that mothed. Can anybody tell me what the error is
What would be the crucial things to optimize when you have hundreds of people connected to your application, with most of them being in a video conference with RTMFP direct_connections, and also some using RTMP connections?
Our app seems to go down under heavy load. - RTMFP stops working (no one can connect to the service with RTMFP NetConnection) and RTMP NetStreams don't work either, however Text Chat works.
Server we use have a connection limit of 500 connections, and 2.5mbps speed limit per connection (a video conference with 4 people uses less than that so it seems fine).
I want to create an application that has these features
- At client side: Display a list of images, when user click on one image, data will be stored in MySQL database.
- At server side: Manage images used in client side, I can delete, add new images.
Is this possible for me to achieve this using Flex? And if it is able, will my output be 2 separate SWF files? And where can I find the materials to read on writing such applications?
I have an fms app which won't disconnect people in IE unless they close the browser completely. Simply going to another url in the browser leaves their name in the peoplelist. I've tried everything here without success. Even IE 8 shows same problem on Vista. IE on XP works fine as well as some versions of IE on Vista.Firefox, opera, chrome all work fine everytime. The problem, it seems, is IE won't "leave" pages until it's closed no matter what.
User interacts with Adobe flex webpage to configure reports based on some data stored server side. They configure their view and have THAT view emailed to them daily. I've got the report builder, the part I'm trying to figure out is how to render the report server side and send it out as email (native flex functionality? convert to html? take screenshot? assume something is running client side?...)
I am writing a thesis and have been able to place all my frameworks under two categories (client-side frameworks and server-side frameworks), but I can't seem to finf where to place Adobe Flex...In which category should I place this or should I place it in some separate catgeory?
I am making an app where people upload a bunch of images and it thumbnails them and saves them to the server. Is it better to create thumbnails from the uploaded images, or to upload them to the server then re-download the thumbnails?
how tp use databases with Flash CS4 ?I have created a form, an email page and a username/password protected pages, but I cannot find any tutorials that would help me how to connect to a database.
I have a problem with saving the £ symbol to a mysql database.I am running a flex front end, with a php + mysql backend When I save a record from flex, the string gets sent to the server as "This amount is £10" php views the string as above, and when it gets saved into the DB, it gets saved as "This amount is £10".
My understanding is that this is correct based on MySQL or PHP is appending a whenever the £ is used I now retrieve the above record, and it gets sent to flex as "This amount is £10". Flex correctly displays this in a textarea as "This amount is £10" I change another field in the same record in flex, and re-save the transaction. The string now gets sent to the server as "This amount is £10" The record is now saved into the DB as "The amount is £10". Each time the record is re-saved, this effect snowballs.
So, we want to move out from Air (Adobe stopping support and really bad implementation for the sqlite api, among other things). I want to make 3 things:
Connect with a flash (not web) application to a local mysql database. Connect with a falsh (not web) application to a remote mysql database. Connect with a flash (web) application with a remote mysql database.
[Code]...
if you can connect with socket wit mysql server, why use a web server (for example with php) to connect like a inter connectioN? why not connnect directly? I have done this a lot of times, using AMFPHP for example, but wouldn't be faster going directly? In the case of accessing local machine, it will be a more simple deploy application that only require the flash application + mysql server, not need to also instal a web server.
I am accessing my MySQL database through Flash using AS3. I am using php scripts to access my database and send and receive variables. Everything is working fine. No problems there. The problem, or rather the question is, is it possible for flash to run a script to access a database without a webserver running on the machine? Isn't there some sort of plugin or adapter or interface class available in flash that will allow me to do that?
I have a database with info about each of my movies (filename, size, length, credits, etc) How would I load the variables for a particular movie from the database into the flash?
I did a search on the forum, but I wasnt sure excatlly to search for so I didn't find anything.
i am trying to connect php to a mysql database by doing the following: $con = mysql_connect("localhost:8080","username","passwor d"); when i try to run the php file in the browser it takes forever to load. What could be the problem? and what am i doing wrong. i created the database with mysql in xampp.
I want to know how to make a loop which takes the information printed from the PHP script and use some sort of efficient loop to take username1, username2, username3, etc. and place them at the x and y positions listed. I will use the "loadVariables" function to get the variables from the PHP script.
The main thing that confuses me is how I am to make a loop which manipulates the variable name. I am thinking of using OO with which I can do username(1), username(2), etc. but I am not familiar with actionscript so it would be difficult.
I also need to be able to place an object from my library to the screen and when I did a search, I could not find how to do this.
I have made the following script to search in a Mysql database. The script works fine the first time you search. Second time if you try to search for some thing else the old search result keep appearing. Is there some way that i can clear the search result when ever i initiate in a new search?
I want to create a Flex 3 application running in Adobe Air that accesses an SQLite database and I need to keep this database in sync with an SQL server 2005 database running a website. Is this something that Flex supports or is it going to be a custom script? Also, has anybody done anything like this?
Edit: The synchronisation can be done on a daily basis rather than real time. The data will be read only from a front end perspective with a CMS to do updates on the website.
