View 1 RepliesI'm trying to use the double click event, but its not working. I found one thread on Kirupa where Krilnon said you have to use doubleClickEnabled = true When I use it like this:

Double clicking just doesn't do anything and the event doesn't seem to register (trace doesn't happen)....

View 2 RepliesI am currently working with a drawing tool for a mapping API, and every time I double-click the mouse a map service will perform a measurement and display the length of the line that I am drawing.
I want to mimic this double-click manually by dispatching a MouseEvent.DOUBLE_CLICK, but the map service is not listening to this default Flex event. I suspect that the API has created a custom MapMouseEvent or something like it that is being dispatched when a user double-clicks the mouse.
Is there a way to determine which event is being dispatched when I double-click the mouse?
I have never used the Double Click before but now that I am trying to apply it to a button it's not responding.

I have a couple of Sprites on my screen and I want to write a single event handler to handle the double click on any of those Sprites. The following approach works for every event type except DOUBLE_CLICK:

To make it work, because in my application I will have lots of Sprites. In my opinion, a single event and the target property are more efficient than hundreds of event listeners. Am I right or should add event listeners to every Sprite?
I'd like to have a double click event on a datagrid in Flex3. The following example only works if the Accordion (id = "mustBeSecond") container comes after the DataGrid. Why is the order of the components important and what can I do to prevent this behavior? (The example does not work. If you change the order of "mustBeSecond" and gridReportConversions" the example works fine)

I've got a bug in my code, where a button has to be double clicked to work.Just wondering what is the standard distinction for the difference between single and double click.

View 1 RepliesI'm programming a little tank game (Check the attachment). The main class for tank is game.serovkonstantin.tanks.Tank.as and there are also 2 subclasses for now: Abrams and T90 which extend Tank. In my game.serovkonstantin folder I have a custom event (TankEvent), and the only event type inside of it which is TANK_INACTIVE.
I've added an event listener for MouseEvent.CLICK to each of the tank instances (inside Tank.as) which works just fine. When I add any of the tank instance onto the stage and click it, it traces the tank's name just like I wanted whether it's Abrams or T-90 depending on what tank I clicked. But the problem is that when I click a tank I also want it to dispatch my TankEvent.TANK_INACTIVE. The main stage has a listener for this event, so I expected it to catch the event and trace some phrase, but nothing happens I don't know whether it doesn't dispatch my event or doesn't catch it.

if you're interested why I need to dispatch this event, well,I suppose it will help my game know what tank to move when I click somewhere on the stage, and what tank(s) should be inactive,event it they all of the same type. I mean if I click one of the tanks it accepts all the controls while the other should be inactive
I am no longer able to doubleclick SWFs on my PC and have them open up in their own little SWF preview window. It is asking me to choose how I want to open them. There was no option for any Flash player, so I have had to settle for Firefox fo now which is annoying as it has changed all my SWF icons to the FF logo.I have Flash CS3 installed, and use Flash regularly to create banners and things, so this is a pain.

One that loads hi-res pictures AND... here's the important part....has a startDrag() action attached to it so that the user can move the picture aside if they so desire.However to close this window, I'd like to have the user DOUBLE CLICK with the mouse. They should be able to double click anywhere on the movie clip or even anywhere else... it doesnt matter really. The thing is, how do I listen for a double click in ActionScript??
View 6 RepliesIs it possible to catch a right-click inside of flash (AS3)? No JQuery/JavaScript. I need to pause gameplay when a right-click is caught, so I don't so much want to disable the context-menu as I do just want to tell that a right-click has happened. Is there an EventListener I can add? I need the event to be triggered as they are actually right clicking, not just after the context-menu has disappeared.

I accidently just clicked a button twice really fast, and it makes the tween stop half way, and the loaded content becomes semi transparent. To transmit a number from my fla. to the class (added as child) I dispatch an event, but the class never receives it. What's wrong. Initially I wanted to dipatch the event in another class, but as far as I understood, the event would never be transmitted from the other class as events only communicate to their parents.
Hope my sketch helps a bit. Actually the image (uiloader) should transmit the loading progress directly, so the loading status bar could change its width. But as I couldn't get this to work, I started to dispatch another event from the main document which placed image and loading bar dynamically on the stage.
