Dec 12, 2011I have a List which uses a an arrayCollection as dataprovider and an itemRenderer to display some things but how can i pass an extra variable to this itemRenderer?

The second paramter (i) for imageLoaded is always 1, I guess because i no longer exists and is defaulting to 1. Is it possible to get that second paramter to be evaluated when the load is started rather than on complete?

Jan 24, 2011I have a spark list control whose data is rendered using an itemrenderer. Basically the Item renderer lays out the data within a Panel.
The Panel has a LinkButton, which when clicked needs to pass an Id to the parent application. In the parent application I have a function that dispatches a custom event to its parent. I want to know how to call this function from the ItemRenderer.
I tried using parentDocument.outerfunction etc but it throws an error..

May 27, 2011I have a Tree, which has an itemRenderer. On the itemRenderer, driven by the XML conditions, objects are created dynamically and added as a children to nodes. These new objects shall trigger an event handler ( some click events mostly ). How do I pass the event handler to the tree and later to the dynamically created new objects inside itemRendere?

Jun 22, 2011I have a List with TextInput as item renderer. I want to get the value entered in the TextInput (form the TextInputItemRenderer) and pass it the main application to do some checks(upon tapping enter on the textInput -- see code below).
I know that we can do it thru dispatching event but I still don't understand how to pass a variable from the ItemRenderer to the main app.

Oct 3, 2011I'm trying to pass the contents of variable playnoyes to the long line of code below to decide whether or not to autoplay the flash movie, but doing it as I have below, the resultant line of code has the variable in quotes and therefore the code doesn't execute it as expected. My question is, how can I pass the variable so that the resulting line of code doesn't have the quotes around the variable value.

May 7, 2010Im trying to use dynamic SQL tables on my PHP server so I need to pass the table name to the PHP script. I don't understand why the Data Management system that sets up CRUD won't allow this extra parameter. It says it can only have one input: item. I can get all records, but when I try to create, update, or delete I get an error.
Or is there another way I can pass the tablename variable to the php file before I call any functions?

Whenever I publish the file flash gives me an unexpected "]" error code. Is it possible to have a variable name with brackets? I tried to use the escape codes %5B%5D to pass the brackets but that didn't work also.

Oct 24, 2008I want to put a variable at the end of a URL and have Flash "find" that variable. The url would be: [URL] "Campbell" is the variable I want to pass to Flash. I then have this script in the root timeline:
loadVariables (""+agent".txt", this);
I want "agent" to be replaced with Campbell. That way I can have it read a bunch of variables from the txt file. I tried this as well:
loadVariables (""+_root.agent".txt", this);
What am I missing in this?

At the moment, I have a separate SWF for each section of the site, but I was wondering if it is possible to create 1 swf file and based on variables that are passed, it would load different data into the swf.
What I need to know how to do, is to pass those variables to the loading swf at run time so that it loads the correct items into the swf.
