I am trying to integrate web cam in my MVC app. I am using Flash to integrate it, I have written an action script to capture the image from web cam, but i am unable to upload it to DB. I tried with communicating javascript and and actionsctipt but its not working out for me.

Now I have some developers working on a CMS type page in PHP that is going to hopefully pass some sort of information to my player that will let it know where the video is stored on our server. Is there a way to do this without using FMS? If so does anyone have ideas where I can find the information for it.
View 2 RepliesI'd like to create one empty Flash movie that is essentially a placeholder for externally loaded content I can change through XML. This content would just be able to randomly load 1 of 3 photos, with a button linking to a website within each of the photos on page load. If the user refreshes the page, a new photo with it's link would appear, but I understand since it's random,having 3 images the same image is likely to reappear, but I can always add additional photos and links.
Does anyone know of a tutorial that might lead me on the correct path to create this? I've found some tuts, but they've been different than my need.
We want to be able to upload over 100+ files (if needed) to a server along with desc + keywords. I see that Flash 8 has the neccessary tools to handle file uploading, but my question is, can we have it act as a Stand alone FTP program so that we can utilize the fastest user upload, or will we be confined to the settings in the server INI settings.IE MAX_UPLOAD_TIME,MAX_FILESIZE, etc. If possible we want to avoid using the HTTP upload as it is noticeably slower. So if we can use flash to utilize user BW to upload, then that would be ideal.
View 1 RepliesI have got the Flashpageflip (a flash based application from [URL]) and MagicZoomPlus (a javascript from [URL]) and I would like to integrate the two.
Flashpageflip does accept swf pages as content and I'd like to zoom into images that are inside these swf files. This means that I have to call the javascript from MagicZoomPlus from within the swf file. Can this be done at all?
And if so, how do I achieve this?
Extra info: The flipping page swf is called from within a PHP-file. I have been able to declare the MagicZoom javasrcipt functions in thie PHP file, but what needs to be done next is that the swf generates the following code:

i have a button in a symbol, when i release the mouseclick, i want it to add the value if 1 to a dyn. txt field in another symbol... var name is "DYNTXTFIELD"
so, if i use:
var DYNTXTFIELD=DYNTXTFIELD+1;
nothing happens.
if i add the path to the variable, i get an error!

I am dynamically loading images into my project using xml. If possible I'd like to use one xml file for the whole project and target different parts of the xml file. How can I target different parts of the xml file?
Ex:

Only access the images in the murals section when wanted and only access the images in trompe when wanted and so on.

My player uses the FLVPlayback component.My actionscript makes a call like this to the PHP script:[code]When tested, the FLVPlayback component simply won't accept the FLV served up to it in this way. It WILL work if loading directly from the file system, so I know my actionscript works. I can load just about any other type of file into Flash this way,including JPG and SWF. FLV is the only format that doesn't work.I've added the video/x-flv MIME Type to all test servers I've tried this on, so the server should recognize the file.

I have a few DIVs, some overlapping others. One of these DIV is in the background (lowest Z-index) and contains an SWF. (a kind of liquid picture/video in Flash)
My problem is : In all common browsers it's fine, the website is displayed correctly, with DIVs overlapping or being overlapped according to their Z-Index. Though, in Safari, the DIV containing the SWF always show on the foreground and hide all other DIVs, whatever the Z-index attributed to all the DIVs.
Is there an alternative to using JavaScript to send information to a SWF at runtime?

I have a page with three frames. the left frame with images1 thumbnails, the right with images2 thumbnails. Both have Hyperlink in order to pass that to SWF file in middle frame. To be more precise - I have two ASP pages displayed in left right frames of my web page. I want the SWF file (which is to be loaded in middle frame on click events of these ASP pages) to receive paramenters from these files and change the image in this SWF file. e. g. middle frame test.swf files should load with image1.jpg when clicked on image1.jpg thumbnail in left/ right frame and when clicked on imageN.jpg thumbnails, the test.swf file should be loaded in middle frame with imageN.jpg
I've been struggling with LoadVariables, GetURL, LoadVars etc. etc. since last weak.
I have a slideshow.swf (I cannot change it contents, there is no .fla) which gets input from slideshow.xml and finds pictures to display in a folder called 'images' . Pretty basic for a flash picture gallery.
The problem: I want to load the slideshow.swf into a loader component in another flash movie, say holiday.fla. (So i have the loader component in holiday.fla and I tell it to load the movie slideshow.swf). How can i tell the slideshow.swf file where to find its data e.g. slideshow.xml? or How can i have slideshow.swf read from slideshow.xml?

I am having some consistency problems with my flash application, when I echo out variables for flash to get, it doesn't always pick up what PHP is sending, it seems to vary from PC to PC.I am getting info from a database, and I need to pass it to flash, say for instance I need to send through 5 variables $uid,$name,$points,$from,$page , how could I go about sending these from PHP to flash using AMFPHP?

How can I have it so after 10 nodes it creates a new column setting them side by side? Moving them say 100px on the x axis? Here is the 1st part of the code that works:

Is it possible to develop original content with Actionscript using bespoke question formats and transfer this to a LMS. I have just developed lots of script without using the question templates & feel that it has been a waste if I cannot make it SCORM compliant. The alternative is that I switch off so much of the functionality and just use the question templates but it will make so much of it bland.

View 2 RepliesI'm an art student and have produced some pieces in Flash 8. Now I've been asked for a high-quality (i.e. a letter-sized print at 600dpi) image, but the animation uses transparency.
I've been able to generate vector-based PDFs that I can blow up to as big as I want with no quality loss, but the transparency dissappears.
When I conserve the transparency, I get something that'll print at about 1/10 the size I need at 600dpi.
If it's not possible from the Flash Player (or from Flash 8), then does anyone know of an alternate program that'll do this for me (preferably free or cheap)?
I am using the following code to try and post variables to a URL, but the SEND command is still posting the variables via GET.

I have got to send sth by ASP in Flash. I wrote some code but this doesnt work.[code]If I just click on email. asp without Flash, I will get a email from there. But if I use the above method to call that page, the email wont be sent. So do anyone know what wrong?

However, I am wondering if there are other ways that this can be done on a local maching, using the XML resolver for example. There doesn't seem to be much information about this out there.
