I am assigning a color to its color field like this: lightblue_color.transform.colorTransform.color = 0x65ffff; then i am adding an eventlistener to the button like this: lightblue_color.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ChangeColor); Then, in the function: public function ChangeColor(evnt:MouseEvent):void {trace(evnt.target.transform.colorTransform.color);} It prints 0. Why is that? Shouldn't it print 0x65ffff or do i need to do some type conversions?

What I am trying to do is to have the button color change to a different color when it is on the page. The color only changes when I roll over it or hit it. Once I am on the page it changes back to the color it is on the up state.

I basically want any pixels of a certain color on an imported 24Bit (no alpha) Bitmap to appear transparent using AS3 (like a simple color mask, any black pixels are not drawn). threshold() only seems to work correctly on 32Bit BitmapData with alpha channel so the only way I've found so far is this craziness..

I was just wondering if there is a way to simplify this code. I have 3 identical movie clips and I use actionscript to alter the color to the same color. Right now I use 3 different colorTransform variables. Could I just use one since its all the same color? How would it look like.
So far, naming all the movie clips the same instance name did not work. Is there a better way?

i'm trying to create a unordered list in Flex. My issue is that within each line, i want the word NEW to be a different font color and different font size from the rest of the label text. I am unsure of how to do this INLINE within the label component.

Apparently, in order to make a bitmap transparent, one has to convert it to 256 colors from 24. I'm not sure if Flash puts it in 24 or 256, but because I can't create a transparency when using Bitmap() in my code, and from what I see displayed on the screen, it would appear that it uses 24 colors. Perhaps this is to keep things light. Nonetheless, is it possible to convert it to 256 colors?
View 1 RepliesI have an issue working with the setStyle() on the modalTransprancyColor property. The module did not run on different variations of hexadecimal code, only one that seems to work is 0xDDDDDD. Anything else, this line of code will crash Flash.

View 6 RepliesIn Photoshop there is a tool that lets you adjust the levels of an image. I'd like to be able to do the same thing. I've seen examples online that show the levels but they are for each individual color channel (red, green, blue or alpha or CMYK) but not a combined view like in Photoshop Input Levels (see below).Also, as a bonus is there a way to find the best shadow and highlight input level settings, basically the settings the Auto level button determines?Update:I think I'm closer but I'm not sure. I have created a game that randomly loads in an image from an XML file. The image size is roughly 400x300 and loads up in the center of the stage. In the top corner of the game, there is a 50x50px box that loads the exact same image as the 400x300 one but it only shows a 50x50 part of that image. You need to click on the part of the image shown in the 50x50 box in the larger image to advance in the game.
What I've found after playtesting is certain parts of the image are extremely dark and make advancing near impossible without wildly clicking on the larger image in all the dark places.
Is there some way that flash can determine the color data of the image? Say, flash recognizes that there's too much black in the image so it skips it and goes to the next image.
I'm trying to convert a simple FXG to SVG. The conversion is pretty much straightforward, but I'm encountering a color manipulation problem. The FXG have a base shades of gray path, and I apply a different color transformation on subsequent use of this path for other shapes.
Here the FXG color transformation (equivalent to colorTransform) :

How can I convert this color transformation (even the negative offset) to something SVG understand? I only need the color offset changes, no multiplier or alpha. I think it could be achieved with <feColorMatrix> (look like this SVG filter work like the AS3 ColorMatrixFilter) but I can't find how. How I could convert those color offset changes to a color matrix filter ?
I have an xml file containing color values to be applied in a series of shapes in my swf. However, when I try to assign the values, it doesn't work, it recognizes only a string and assigns the value 0 to the colors.
