ActionScript 3.0 :: When I Draw A Square Using The Colortransform.color Property The Color Always In Gray Scale?
Feb 18, 2009
i want to change a colors tint and store that color for later use to apply to dynamically created sprites, for some reason the code changes my place graphic as expect but when i draw a square using the Colortransform.color property the color always in gray scale?
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction with this. Instead of creating a button and nesting movie clips for each state, I'm trying to script an animated button of a square (no fill) where on rollover the stroke color changes from one color to another (tweening the tint). I want to do this to the button symbol so it's the same for all instances. Is this possible or do I have to go the button > nested MC route? Sorry if this is lame...it's been awhile since I've used Flash and I've forgotten quite a bit.
I need to create, from a given Bitmap/BitmapData of a PNG file which has transparent and semitransparent pixels, another BitmapData which is a copy of it, but all the pixels (well, the pixels that are not alpha 0% actually) must have a specified grey color value (0xdddddd).
I am using lightbox++ to load images outside of flash in order to make that work I have to set wmode=transparent in the object properties But doing this lightens the gray color used in the swf.. Without adding wmode=transparent Screenshot with wmode=transparent
I'm a student currently trying to learn Flash CS3. However I've encountered a problem with the paint bucket. In my assignment I've created a simple rocket, each part with it's corresponding layer. Now I need to go back in and fill the body in a light gray color. I did so successfully with the nose cone. The problem now is that the bucket won't fill any other area no matter what I do, or which layer is selected.
I am trying to make a toggle button where, when the user clicks it, it changes from grey to red. I am using movie clips rather than "button" symbols because, when switching between states, buttons look kind of bouncy after you click them. I have everything working, however, because I am using movie clips the "hand" cursor does not appear when I hover over the buttons. I am using very basic code:
I'm playing around since days with the Color.Matrix.Filter and cant get it working. The Problem is that i have to implement it to a existing project which was done by someone else.If i do it from scratch it works.COLOR TWEEN FROM GRAY TO COLORED ( Normal ) ON MOUSE ROLL OVER Existing Code ( not on Frame one of the Project, its inside a Movieclip which will be placed on frame one of the main stage / scene.
I am trying to use the ColorTransform.color method to retrieve the RGB value of a ColorTransform object, but there's obviously something about it I don't understand. The implementation is:
-public function get color():uint
-public function set color(value:uint):void.
I don't understand how to use this type of function. The functions I am used to only have one word in their name, like getColor() or setColor().I can get a number to return using the color method by doing this: trace (someDisplayObject.transform.colorTransform.color) ; but it is not a good color number.[code]
I am having a bit of a problem where I have a function that takes a ColorPickerEvent. I am trying to colorTransform a "loaded bitmap" of a movieclip to the selected color but For some reason it is not setting[code]...
I would like to know why does AS3 colorTransform only transforms the border of a shape [code] Only the border of a shape is transformed.I've tried to redraw on everyframe the object with different fill but it's an overkill in performance, about 10 3d planes were performance killers.I can only think of that because beginFill() does not use a pen set by lineStyle() and that may be causing the problem, however I would really like to know the problem as I need my uber-super-semi3d-spinner to spin while changing colors and not his borders!
I found this old thread and tried using both codes to color tween. I could not get either work. I know its probably very simple but I am very new to flash. I have attached the .fla. If anyone can get both example of the color tweens to work
Also I would like to hear pros and cons on wither method.
When I use begin/endFill it work only for sprite dynamicaly drawed. So I use colorTransform to color a Sprite which is already on the stage. However all is colored. Is it possible to select what you want to color (line or fill)? I want to change only the fill color.
I'm using ColorTransform to fill in the colors for a few objects I have. Some of them with looping motion tweens. Whenever the motion loops, it resets the color to the default. Is there anyway to make the ColorTransform stick?
i have a button, with instance name lightblue_color. I am assigning a color to its color field like this: lightblue_color.transform.colorTransform.color = 0x65ffff; then i am adding an eventlistener to the button like this: lightblue_color.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ChangeColor); Then, in the function: public function ChangeColor(evnt:MouseEvent):void {trace(evnt.target.transform.colorTransform.color);} It prints 0. Why is that? Shouldn't it print 0x65ffff or do i need to do some type conversions?
Inside movieClip container, there are colored buttons on layer1 and on layer2 there is movieClip square which covers the buttons. I want to use the color efffects and blending options of movieClip square to make layer 1 alpha. There are some blending options called alpha, difference, lighten and substract but Im not getting the right combinations. I want to make layer1 alpha only by using layer2.
I am looking for a way to create a sliding scale, not unlike a horizontal scrollbar that changes the background colour of a page as it moves left or right. Whats the best graphics software for this?
How do I create a custom color scale ideally in Hex? say from yellow to red, depending on the height of an object? is this a correct way to achieve this or is there a better way without having to convert it at the end?[code]...
I'm doing some line charts in my Flex application, and I need to draw segments of those line chart in different color. Does anyone have an idea how this could be achieved? For instance, if I have a code like this (actually, I have given this trivial example for simplicity (the problem is the same)):
i have loaded a colorful image. when i rollover this image, then the image has to change in grey scale.i think it can be done with filter adjust color, but i want to do this with scripts.

Trying to draw a triangle and then fill the color inside using the paint tool. I am not able to fill any color inside. Made sure the lines are overlapping, tried using the fill large gaps, made sure alpha is set to 100%.
I need to create a color formula converter that goes between HEX, RGB, CMYK and Gray Scale.
With wonderful help from members of this site, I have the HEX to RGB to HEX portion working. Particular thanks to JSEBRECH on color formula conversion and previously to GIBBERISH for helping me master updating arrays from changed input text fields, and with other important help from DEADBEAT, VREELPOWER and PAEREZ. You have all been very helpful and generous.
how to convert either HEX or RGB to CMYK or to Gray Scale?
Is there anyway to create an alpha mask out of a grayscale image in flash?i am using the color adjust filter to create a bleached out kind of image. I would like to make the white transparent.
I want to do as follows: * click a "red" button write in textarea with red color font click "blue" button * write in textarea with blue color font Isn't this possible in flash 10 using AS3 I tried using setTextFormat but the problem is i have to have text before inserting format on that.
