Trying to draw a triangle and then fill the color inside using the paint tool. I am not able to fill any color inside. Made sure the lines are overlapping, tried using the fill large gaps, made sure alpha is set to 100%.

I am beginner in flash and I started to learn flash c4 (with video lessons in my language but from flash 8! but it is not problem now about drawing than only about code in actionscript). I have now problem in using of Paint Bucket Tool in flash cs4. I made a ship, I made a whole document/white page for drawing in rectangle tool (frame for picture), and I made to lines which will be like a hill. it is for background, behind the ship. but when I want to color this background, to be green for example, my Pain Bucket Tool don't want to color ONLY place behind the ship and under mentioned "hill lines", than Paint Tool color whole document. therefore I can't make a hill because I get everything colored in green.
I tried all option about closing of gaps. how can I color only wanted places in picture and not whole picture? "hill" is not strait line so I don't know how to select hill space. of course, after it I will have to repeat process to color space above "hill lines", it will be blue like sky. and just to say that "2 hill lines" are from left to right side of document, there is no hole, it is closed line.
why do when I draw a triangle for instance with the pen tool, and then I rotate it with the free transform tool, so while I rotate the triangle, it is scaled and dissorted its shape, and it lengthen a little. And I don't know how to prevent it.

I`ve tried working on Shapes with cacheAsBitmap = true and Bitmaps with BitmapData but it doesn`t seens to work.

View 3 RepliesWhen I use the Flash CS4 brush tool in "Paint Inside" mode it erases part of the strokes around shapes. For rectangles it erases the stroke on the top and left hand side where the brush head crosses it, though it never seems to affect the other sides. The effect is less consistant with ovals, but it breaks the strokes at some points. I am using Flash CS4 version 10.0.2 on Windows XP, and I have checked for program updates through the Help menu. View 2 RepliesI'm a student currently trying to learn Flash CS3. However I've encountered a problem with the paint bucket. In my assignment I've created a simple rocket, each part with it's corresponding layer. Now I need to go back in and fill the body in a light gray color. I did so successfully with the nose cone. The problem now is that the bucket won't fill any other area no matter what I do, or which layer is selected.
View 10 Repliesfor my class i have to draw this fish. in one of the steps it says to draw fins with the pencil. then it says to use the paint bucket tool to color it in. however i cannot color it in. i used all the options too, close small, medium, & large gaps and i still can't color it in. does it have to connect to the start point? i simply attached it to the fish's body. i started over on the 1st part of this 3 time already, and my patience is wearing thin.
View 2 RepliesSo we're sitting here at the studio trying to figure out how to use the pen tool without a stroke. We do most of the work in Illustrator, then paste it in Flash. Unfortunately, some objects sometimes disappear while breaking the object down, which means that we have to do some actual touchup work in Flash.
View 2 RepliesI draw a shape with the pen tool in Flash CS4. I made sure the shape was closed. But, I cannot fill the shape no matter what. Paint bucket tool does not work. Whatever I do, I get the red diagonal line on the fill color. I can fill a shape with the rectangle or oval tools but not the pen tool.

View 3 RepliesI am writing a custom item renderer to render a column series in my application.
Its a stacked chart and i want to use the same item renderer for both the column series. The color for each series in the stack is different and am setting that in the 'fill' property of the two series. My doubt is how can i get the color specified in the fill property of the column series from the item renderer. if this works then i can very well use the same renderer for both series.
When I draw a path with the pen tool, and fill it, it seems as if the shape now has two parts. If I drag the filled area around, it's breaking apart from the path (or border). So how can I make this one entity?
View 3 RepliesI'm new to Adobe Flash CS4, and I was wondering why on earth my pencil tool delays when I draw with it? I will click, draw my line (which will be invisible), then when I let go of my mouse/pen, the line appears. Is it supposed to do that? Is there a way to fix it? I hate it, because I can't see what I'm doing. I downloaded all of the updates, and I have more than enough memory on my computer and my processor is more than fast enough. My paintbrush works fine, it's just the pencil.
View 1 RepliesI recently installed the CS5 Master Collection on my MacPro for work. I need to use Flash CS5 in order to work on some projects in the office, however I'm encountering several issues that make it near impossible for me to use the software. First of all, when I start the program and select "New..." and select any type of new file, I'm greeted by nearly every button being greyed out, to where I cannot select them. I've found out that I can make these buttons usable by changing my workspace in Flash.
The issue that's causing me trouble is that whenever I select any sort of "Drawing" tool, Flash CS5 crashes immediately. Whenever I click on the line, pen, circle, rectangle, pencil, or brush tools, CS5 freezes briefly (about 2-3 seconds) and then immediately closes. I can still use tools such as the Pan tool, zoom, text, and selection tool. Also, whenever I select the Spray Can tool, I get the following error:
Unable to load the script. The file <filepath>/ProScripts/sprayBrush.jsx does not exist.
I have already tried updating my system, updating every Adobe product on this machine, reinstalling, and even using a seperate installation CD, but everything thus far has yielded the same results.
Info on my system:
MacPro running OS X V. 10.6
2 x 2.26 GHx quad-core proocessors
12 GB DDR3

View 2 RepliesI've been working in flash for an independent studies course and I've come across an issue that is halting my class's progression. My Fill Color swatch is stuck as a transparent color and when i attempt to change it by clicking a color or typing in the color's code it doesn't change. Update:
-The issue is still there, but I've found that if I click the "black and white" option it enables the ability to change the fill color again, but only after that.-
-Another issue is that the color of text is also stuck on transparent unless I go into the color window, the box that allows you to select custom colors, and select a color from there.
if you open microsoft paint and use the pencil tool you'll tell its not like the brush tool in a vector based program. vector based tools keep drawing the object until you let go of the mouse. but the pencil tool on the other hand seems like the canvas is divided up into a grid and where ever the mouse clips it knows what grid it belongs to and it draws the pixel in that grid. thats what it feels like. my question is say i open up a new as3 file, how would i make something like that?
taking into account of course i'd be adding a zoom function were you'll be able to zoom in up to 8 times. but thats something i assume i'd worry about later, as i should be able to do that no problem.

1. What is lock fill; whenever I am trying to fill a color, it shows lock fill....

Instead of creating a button and nesting movie clips for each state, I'm trying to script an animated button of a square (no fill) where on rollover the stroke color changes from one color to another (tweening the tint). I want to do this to the button symbol so it's the same for all instances. Is this possible or do I have to go the button > nested MC route? Sorry if this is lame...it's been awhile since I've used Flash and I've forgotten quite a bit.
