For some reason, once I select it, the rollOver state no longer applies. Does anyone know of another way to turn on a function when a selected radiobutton is rolled over? By the way, I'm using AS2.
View 0 RepliesI've got a relatively simple problem with controlling the appearance of a radio button after it's selected. I'm using Flash CS5.5 and AS2. I've got a radio button set up as a two-frame mc, the first frame labeled "on", the second "off". When put on the stage with this code on it, it functions properly:

Whenever I add additional code to the radio button mc (in this instance, telling an invisible mc in the same frame to gotoAndStop (2)), the radio button stops changing appearance. I've been using the syntax

View 1 RepliesI've got a huge survey I've made with lots and lots of groups of radio buttons. There are maybe 60 questions with 6 buttons each. Of these, I have a couple of groups that are really misbehaving. What's happening is for one question, the first button in the group seems independent of the rest. That is, I can check the first radio button and it never turns off when clicking others in the same group.
All my code is right. I'm using the exact same code with all the other groups and only two groups aren't working right. Ha. That's the funny thing, though, because everything works fine IN Flash, but publishing to a web page, these two groups stop working right.FWIW, I've set the first instance of the radio button with a name like "G10" then all the buttons in the group have the group name "Q10".I've tried several ways of fixing this including deleting the whole group and adding them again, copying a working group and renaming the parts. Nothing. The one thing that has worked (and don't ask me why) but adding a new single radio button with a new instance and group name has fixed other problem groups but not these two.

View 2 RepliesI am designing a game/demo and in this game I displaying 10 trains with carraiges in a row. Each row has 2 radio buttons one that indicates the train is going East and one that indicates West. I have 10 examples to the left of the game, 5 facing East and 5 facing West each has different attributes as well. The user has to guess which of the ten trains in the demo are going East and which are going West using the radio buttons. (They will all be facing one direction in the game, not the examples.) The trains are loaded into flash dynamically using text files.
I wanted to know what is the best way of utilizing the radio buttons. I have never used them before. 1. Is it possible for me to set it up so that I can have a data file that contains the following but1=0&but2=1&but3=1&but4=0&.....but10=1& Pass this data file to a container that contains all the radio buttons. If radio button but1=0 then the correct choice is West and if but1=1 then the correct choice is East. When the user has selected their 10 choices, Can I have a button at the bottom that will calculate the users choice pass them to the next 'page' and list the users selections next to the correct answers and say something like 'You got 5/10!'

I have a program where the radio button remembers the users selection so when they return to the page the radio button they selected is still being displayed as selected. In some cases I want to get deselect the radio buttons so that when the user returns none of the radio buttons are selected. There has got to be a way to do this but I am not having much luck searching the net.

I'm loading a text file and based on the settings in that, I need to change which radio button in a group is selected.
My structure is three buttons to a group. One button has an instance name of rb1 and the values are 1,0,-1.
I know to get the values I need the radiobuttonGroup, but I'm not having much luck setting the values.

I have a project using 2 groups of radio buttons. Each group needs its own icon. I can skin the RadioButton Asset, but that affects ALL radio buttons. I guess U need to be able to change the icon property on an instance-by-instance basis.

I've now been asked to add in a radio button (2 actually but I'm starting with the one!)I've added it in, nicking this component from another form I bought, seeing as already fully reskinned the first one, but in my end email I'm getting 'undefined' as the result.So. He wants all the shortcuts with Alt key combination.I can trap the Alt key with the use of enterframe but that makes my course processing heavy so I tried to trap Alt key with keylistener event but unfortunately keylistener event doesn't listen Alt key .how to trap Alt key without using enterframe or interval?

The problem I see with this is that the invisible mouse will quickly move out of the movie and stop tracking.Has anybody dealt with this before? I'm sure I saw a flash toy somewhere that trapped the mouse inside a box, but can't find it now. :(
I'm using a random number int to get a number between 1 and 75 and use that number to find an image and 3 statements with it (images are called 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg....... and i get the statements from XML files 1.xml 2.xml 3.xml.......)i get the right image and the right statements but when i want to check if someone answered correctly my script doesn't work.i have an array for the images, the xml files and the answers but only the answers array doesn't work correctly.here is the array:

View 2 RepliesI need to be able to trap if a sound file has been found or not. At the moment Im using loadSound to load in the file, and onLoad to set the movie running when the sound has been loaded. I have 2 outcomes in the onLoad, one that saves a varaible saying the sound is there and one that says it isnt, if the file cant be found. The probelm is that onLoad doesnt wait to detect that a sound file is defintly there before firing off the failed to load command.
It does this several times while loading in a large mp3 as well. I need to check if the file is there or not as I have a onSoundComplete function that tells the movie to go to the next point when the sound completes. I still need the movie though to push on to the next point even if the file cant be found, which onSoundComplete wont. The outcome variables are my current way of telling the movie to move on if the file cant be found. But with onLoad so quick to jump the gun it reaches the code to move on to the next point before it starts to load the sound. Heres the code im currently using:

Using the Radio button component and I have 10 groups of buttons. Each group has a group name of g1, g2, etc for each yes/no button. I want to determine which button was clicked. When I run the code below I only get the first one and then each other button clicked I don't get a trace statement back.
