I have this textfield in wich i load some vars when a button is clicked. How can i make a sort of button of the loaded vars? So if i click on the first title; i go to the right txt-file!?

i'm having trouble finding a tutorial on this through google. in html, i have this code on a text link:Code:<a href="page1.html" onclick="return loadIframe('ifrm', this.href)">Page 1</a>basically just returns a page's height to the iframe called ifrm so that the height of the iframe will be dynamically changed.the page's nav is being changed to flash, so i need to somehow script that snippet into a flash button. normally i'd use something like:

View 1 RepliesI have a Flash home page which is part of a standard html website. A button needs to link to a specific position in the middle of an html scrolling page. My current script is:
on (release) { getURL("whats-hot.html#_cn"); }
"whats-hot.html" is the page, "#_cn" is the bookmark to the desired position. However, this is not functioning correctly and lands at the top of the page.
I am just trying to send some variables from flash to an asp page. Using the below method the variables are sent to the page.
sendText.loadVariables("http://archive.mysite.com/livefeed/pages/login.asp", "POST");
My issue is that I want the page to open in a new window and then have the post method send the vars.
Presently it does not open a new window.

I've tried to attach the HTML generated by the Flash IDE to this topic but both HTML and zip format were rejected for some reason.
So, does anyone know of a cross plaform/browser compatible way of passing variables to flash from html or javascript?

Now what I need is the menu buttons( which are Movie Clips actually) to maintain in their pressed position when a particular button from menu is pressed (which actually I did inside flash, but everytime new hyperlink is followed, the website is refreshed and new SWF loaded without button being pressed obviously).
I know this can be done either by Frames which I do not want or passing an argument in URL string from HTML when we call for an SWF object.
Sounds great, but I how do I pass different arguments to several menu pages, when i have only one SWF object and therefore only one hard-coded place of data or value where i can pass the argument in string ?
Do I need to divide my flash object to as many swf's as i need buttons and links ?

I have a swf that I have created that make a few HTML posts. When I run and compile the swf locally, it successfully makes posts to my php code hosted on my domain. However when I then upload my swf to my domain, and then alter the embed tag to have a fully qualified path to my hosted swf, the swf will load correctly but it will make any HTML posts to my PHP scripts. The reason that I have an an embed tag with the fully qualified url in it, is that my goal here is to be able to place the html embed code on a number of different sites.
I have it working on a single remote site, and it has a wild card crossdomain.xml file in it. However when I try to apply a crossdomain.xml to any of the hosted sites, or to my computer locally nothing runs when the I use the embed with the fully qualified URL, if I just the locally hosted swf on my computer the HTML post work just fine. I feel this is related to the crossdomain.xml file, however I guess I'm not understanding some aspect of the security model.
I need to pass multiple flash vars into my swf -- I see multiple places in the adobe-generated HTML in which to put the flash vars. While I can do this successfuly for one flash var, I can't for more than one (I'm using something like this at the moment, which works, but cannot be extended URL

View 1 RepliesI have a load vars function that looks for a txt file and grabs data from it, right now they have to be in the same dir. I'd like to have the txt in the root of my server and then be able to link from any dir in the site. I have:
("dataValues.txt")
What should I add before it, I thought maybe a full URL, but no, is it something like ("../dataValues.txt"), basically I want to make the link global for the site - I don't have access to the files right now.
I'm using the FB API and it's working fine. I can post a photo just fine, and I can post to the users wall with me/feed but I need the post to include a link to another FB page. I learned yesterday that you can't post a link within a wall post - ie the users feed, so I'm trying to post a like, but not having any luck.

I want to set up a system similar to a shoping cart where when you click a button (in or out of SWF) it will then list the current XML data below my swf. (filename, album, and possible a dropdown that shows a list of photo sizes. Then a price based on your choice in the dropdown.
