ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Make Text Boxes Clickable

I have a movie clip which has 3 different text boxes inside it. I want to make each text box clickable similar to a hyperlink in HTML (clicking on text box 1 takes you to one website, clicking on text box 2 takes you to another website, etc.). Right now my code is as follows:
ActionScript Code:
MyMovieClip.gotoAndStop(2);
MyMovieClip.TextField1 = "Click Here For Example 1";

So, you will see that I have 3 different text fields (labelled TextField1, TextField2, TextField3. Something is obviously wrong with my onRelease function, so my question is how can I make TextField1 clickable and send you to [URL] when you click on it? Am I using the right approach in the first place?

In an AIR app, I am loading a bunch of arbitrary text via JSON, loading it into an object, and displaying it via a custom renderer. I would like to have urls be clickable. So I'm sure that this is possible via some crazy regex thing (as I found for php here), but, Flex being flex, I'm astonished that there isn't some builtin functionality for this that I'm just not finding, or, failing that, a library that someone has created to do just this. (I'm equally astonished that this question hasn't been asked here before. I anticipate being flamed with the link to that)

I currently have a movie where I have an icon (image) and a block of text as a clickable button (locked together) the button takes you to a specific urlActionScript

What I need to do is replace the geturl with some script that will add an alert box with 2 options. I would like the box to have a title something like "Where would you like to go from here?" then two text links "Members Excel" (which will take them to members-excel-forum) and "Newsgroup Excel" (which will take them to newsgroup-excel-forum), like I said I have many more to add but once I have the code and a "How to" I should be able to adapt it.I will have to do this for each of the items (I'll have to unlock them first) there are 24 items in my movie (it looks like 12 as there is an icon and text locked together for each category) so I need to do this for 16 of them, I say Alert box as this won't be bothered by a pop up blocker. I have some application with 4 inserting text boxes and i must make SQRT between them. Problem is looking like this:

-this is supposed to make multiple buttons with text(not clickable yet) -it seems to coppy over, or remove the previous myButtons[i] movieclip each time it goes through the loop. -there are 3 strings in buttonText.length -on the output i get 0,1,2 -but on the screen I only see one gradient (its only a pink box, but one problem at a time) -the box appears where roughly the 3rd button should be. -full code attached

I am willing to use Macromedia Flash this year to make my physics project. Well, its going to be force resultant calculator. for ones dont know how it gets counted.
Well, I'll make 4 input text boxes, and a button in the middle. 1 text boxin the north, (power effect the body from the north) one on the south, one on the east and one on the west.(I've done that part).
Then, ill need it to subtract the north - south and east - west on(release), and display that on a dynamic box called Fx (east - west) and another called FY (north - south) Finally, I'll need it fethagorth the Fx and FY to give me the final force resultant. I've done the 4 input boxes and a button, I'll still need someone gimme the action script for subtraction and fethagorth (or atleast teach me how to do it).

I made all the corrections in my code and got a working one. But what I really want to do is not adding texts into one text field. I need to get the numbers which is written by users into text boxes and then use their inputs to make some calculations. (Like 3+6=9 ). When I assign numbers to variables Ican easily make calculations but what I really want is not that. the numbers should be entered by these text boxes. I think need to change "string" to "number" but when I do this I get error message. I am planning to use the calculation result in some other part of my code. I am wondering if using "return" function useful for me to get the number (the result) of calculation?

My Error was:
1120: Access of undefined property adclicker.
After I was creating a symbol and writing the following code on to the frame:

I had to change the INSTANCE name to "adclicker" and not only have the symbol with that name!!!
- Choose the button -> Properties -> Instance name: "adclicker".

I'm creating an xml generated gallery/menu, I have the gallery and menu populating fine but my issue arises when I try to make the menu items clickable.
This is inside my populate menu function

I have a small(220x123) Fla file with only one small FLV video file in it.Iwant to embed this video into an html and make it so that it acts likea button - when the user clicks, another html page is launched.Inside Flash I imported the FLV, I made an invisible button on a separatelayer (btn_cover_all) that covers the flv.On the Actions layer I putthe code below. After publishing and embedding the code into the html - the video plays and responds to mouse-over but the link doesn't work.How do I make this FLV act like a link or button that launches another html page?

I use .txt files a lot with flash to load external news and updates. Although you can use the loadVariablesNum() command to load the .txt files is there anyway to edit and save the external files in flash? e.g. say I have a text box and a submit button in flash is there some way where I can add the text boxes content to a .txt file?

In the first I have a button and if somebody click on that button it goes to the second scene.In the second scene I remove the button with an image so it is not clickable.How to leave this button, but make it not clickable at all?and the second case is what if I am using just one scene in flash and want the button be clickable only once? The code I'm building creates two MovieClips on the stage, in one it instantiates several text boxes and in the other some buttons.
What I can't do is access data from the text boxes (e.g. textField.text) for use in the functions called by the eventListeners attached the buttons. I had the system all working nicely before I placed the text boxes and the buttons on separate movie clips.but this structure makes it much tidier to refresh the text I'm using.The button functions are fine with variables created prior to the building of the text boxes.
Am I failing to address the text boxes correctly (because they're on another movie clip) or is there a stage / movie clip property I need to set so they can see each other ... or is this something else altogether?Could it be that the buttons are created before the text boxes?

I loaded a swf and placed it in a movieclip on the stage. When I try to make this image clickable nothing happens.

If I attach a listener to the movieClip on the stage it works fine but I can't seem to get the image inside of the clip to work.

So I have a movie clip called signInBtn and one called signOutBtn initially,
signOutBtn.visible = false;
but when a user signs in
signInBtn.visible = false;
signOutBtn.visible = true;
But after I do that, I can't click the signOut movieclip. I thought it might be because the signOutBtn was under the invisible signInBtn but that is not the case.
