As part of a papervision project I need to render html text on to a plane. I've done this using a MovieMaterial and the html text renders perfectly as one would expect, except that any Code: Select all<a href=""> tags used in the html aren't working? Has anybody else experienced this problem? I've set the material to Code: Select allinteractive=true and that's working because buttons on the same material are working, just the html links aren't.
I have made a simple copy file in php that when I type in a name in my swf it saves a swf file that I have already created. But what I want is to beable to pass my vars to this swf -- but the only way I can think of is to say if(active file name == myxml.value[x]){do this} I don't even know if this is an option or a good solution but is there away that flash can find the active file name.
I have made a movie that only consists of actionscript, it's for a math project I have to do for school.
I have exported it as an swf file and I have put that one online.
[URL]
It is a 3D structure that rotates when pressing the arrow pictures. Now when you surf to it the keys only start to work when you've clicked the structure with your mouse first.

I am trying to load a swf file which contains xml based image gallery on 25th frame of the timeline inside flash professional cs5.5 using actionscript 3. while doing so i'm getting this error "SecurityError: Error #2000: No active security context". Below is the as3 code:
I have a window component on my main timeline that gets called up on several instances. When the popup window appears, everything looks fine, except that the user can still click on links that are now behind the actual popup window itself. My question is how do I keep those buttons from being active while the popup window is active?
I'm having problem with adding the URL links to the flash output. I'm using the XML file to call images and then the corrsponding links. Images are called correctly but when I try to add a link I'm not getting the links, but instead getting the HTML anchor tags as texts. I'm using the XML escape characters to escape the HTML tags but the results are not what I need.I'm using the following code:
I'd like to add hot spot URL links to an FLV file, which is being played in a customised swf. I dont want to embed the video into the timeline, so I would like the hotspots on the FLV itself. Does anyone know how to do this. youtube seems to do it just fine. Is it triggered via an event embedded on the FLV, in which case does anyone know the AS code for it?
I have to make a list every document linked in a multiple .fla files. I can pull them up doing a find for .pdf but I can't figure out how to copy the links from the results field. Each file links to 1000+ pdfs, so i'd like to avoid doing this one at a time. Is there a way to export the results of the find function to a .xml or .txt file?
I am in a flash web design class and I am trying to use links to other websites from my swf file. I have done on (release) {getURL("[URL]", "_self");} , but all it does is load the safari, but nothing else. It does not go to the designated website?
I'm trying to dynamically create links from data in a JSON file.
I can load the JSON file and extract the data, but I'm not sure how to keep track of which URLs go to which titles.
For example, I create a text box and put the words "AOL Homepage" in it and another that says "Google Homepage". I know their respective URLs are [URL] and [URL], but how do I store that information so that when someone clicks on "AOL Homepage" it knows to take them to [URL]
I considered creating a dictionary that stores Titles and URLs so that whenever someone clicks "AOL Homepage" it looks that up in the dictionary and sees [URL]. However, if there are two equal titles, this method will not work.
I have an .fla file where I'm trying to change some of the links. Say it currently goes to index-1.html and I want to change to aboutus.html.
I can't seem to locate where the actual link designation is .. from the documentation on Flash forums it should be in Actions, however I can't seem to find it.
I'm loading html formated text from an external txt file into a masked "createTextField", which was styled using an external CSS file. Everything is fine, except for one strange thing...any links at the beginning of my text file DON'T work...the links towards the bottom of my text file DO work.I have never ran into this problem before.So far, I'm totally stumped.Note: I have "a:hover" and "a:active" properties set via the CSS file.When I rollover the links that aren't working, the anchor rollover properties do change, so there is some recognition going on, but the mouse doesn't change to a hand
basically I want to load a website address from a txt file as a variable into flash and then when a user clicks on a button in flash the website loads automatically I now how to already get variables in from the txt file but the problem is the getURL methodHere is my txt file contents:Ps im using google just as a test for nowIn flash here is the script to load the variables in:
stop(); //Create new LoadVars linkData = new LoadVars();
I was wondering how you use Actionscript 2, to read a URL/web address in a XML file and when you click a button, or an icon, you are then taken to a page specified in the XML document?
I bought a flash template who uses this code for links in the header
onClipEvent (load) { num = 2; _parent.ti1.gotoAndStop(num); _parent.ti2.gotoAndStop(num);
[Code].....
What I want is to be able to modify the page URL from an external file (xml or txt). I want just an external file, and here, on the AS of the button to modify just the line number of where to get the link from external file.
Hi, basically I want to load a website address from a txt file as a variable into flash and then when a user clicks i on that button in flash the website loads automatically

I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
I'm new to XML and am having trouble figuring out the following: 1. Loading an image from XML into flash, then resizing the image with actionscript in flash 2. The correct way to load text and URL links from an XML file
We have a Flash swf object embedded in an html page. When the user sees the page it's just a small button, but on the rollover state the area of the object expands and covers more of the page. This is how it was designed. The problem seems to be that the maximum size of the swf object, even though it's transparent and "invisible" unless the user rolls over the button, blocks out all the underlying html so you can't access any of the links. It's as if the object is covering that part of the page even when it's not expanded. I've tried every publish setting I can imagine to compensate and make the item truly transparent so the "hidden" underlying links will still be clickable, but just can't get it.
I am looking to dead center my site: [URL] which 1400 x 700. I am trying to get the file to load so that when someone with a 1240 or less res links to the site it loads the with the horizontal scroll bar in the center of the page.
I have a blog that I insert swf video into via an iframe which references a CS4 published html page from my swf file. I would like to put html links into each individual blog post to act like a table of contents that someone could use to move to specific frames in my video.
I created a mailto link and a hyperlink in my Flash CS4 file. They both work when I test the SWF file. When I test the html file (in any browser) niether work.I get an error saying something about security for the mailto linksHere's the code for both
//MAILTO AND LINKS var contact1_link:String = "mailto:xxx@xxx";var contact2_link:String = "mailto:xxx@xxx" //ADD EVENT LISTENER FOR EMAIL AND
