ActionScript 2.0 :: Change The Font In A Listbox?
Jan 31, 2004
I know how to change the font in a listbox, but when I do it (to a font like courier, for example) all of the "deep" characters get cropped (gjpqy).
I can't find the StyleProperty that controls line height or line spacing.

Kudos to the person who can successfully change the rowHeight of this listbox. It's a V1 Component and that seems to be the problem since using this code: songList_lb.rowHeight = 30; works for me in V2 but not in V1. Since I need to customize the look of the listbox scrollers I have to stay with V1.

flash cs3 here I cant change the compnonent lists font values - in particular the font color...
I can use this and it works fine
Code:
playList.setStyle("contentPadding", 50);
but this has no effect?!?!
Code:
playList.setStyle("color", "red");
Does anyone have a list of styles that can be changed in a list? or a reference to them?

I'm trying to resize my listbox but I am using a customised Listbox class that someone else has made. I need to have listboxes of different sizes in my project.
My problem is that when I resize the listbox on the stage this doesnt alter the height (presumably as the height is controlled by code within the class). I have tried going through all of the code and renaming the two customised classes and then altering the size on the stage but this doesn't work either.
I have tried altering the height of the listbox using ._height but this squashes the box so the text is too small to read. I can't find any other methods for altering height apart from setSize which I can only get to alter the width.
I'm not sure if I'm missing something obvious or if I'm going to have to delve into the world of customising components.

In my application, I allow the user to change the font of a text field. They use a combobox component to select the font. Can I change the font of each individual label in the combobox to match the font it is named? Like, Microsoft Word style.

I am working on a as3 project in which the user select a font from Combo Box and that font SWF should be loaded Dynamically and then i need to change the font of the Dynamic text field.
I have swf font files downloaded from [URL]
My question is that how can i load the font swf dynamically from server and add them to the library and how can i use that swf to change the font of dynamic text field.
if there are embedded fonts in library the i can access them using this- --
var fontList:Array = Font.enumerateFonts();
for( var i:int=0; i<fontList.length; i++ )
{
trace( "font: " + fontList[ i ].fontName );
}
But How to use dynamically loaded Font swf as a font type.

I need to present chemical formulas with subscripts and superscripts in a dynamic text box. To do this, I've downloaded and embedded the GG Subscript and GG Superscript fonts, created a dynamic text box with Arial as the font, and added ActionScript code to change the font when I need subscripts and superscripts. the following is a simplified version of my code.
[Code].....
I get a compiler error 1119 Access of possibly undefined property html through a reference with static flash.text:TextField. The text box is a dynamic text box, not static, so I'm puzzled.I don't get this error with the GG Subscript code above.

I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.

What is the most common way to change the font in a TextField, within a package? I read a little bit about styling the text in the TextField with CSS, or possibly embedding the fonts, but I know little about accomplishing either.
Code:
package {

I am using Adobe Flash CS5 and Action Script 3, but I am struggling to do something really simple (which means I am looking in the wrong place probably), I have 5 TextInput fields, I have added to the stage via the 'Components' option, but after discovering how to change the colour of the fields, I now want to change the font which appears when you type directly into the fields when the Flash movie is playing, however I can't seems to find this function. I found a tutorial which mentioned going to the properties panel and then clicking 'Character, then 'Embed Font', but this maybe in CS4?

In my movie, I have a dynamic textfield on the timeline starting the first frame and going to the end. At various points during the movie, I change the text in the textfield (and that works just fine), but I also want to change the font-size when I do that. I've tried using setTextFormat to a different TextFormat object, but that doesn't seem to work. Maybe someone has a better idea?

I'm trying to get my font to change when clicking a button.
The text field itself is inside a movie clip called draggabletext. The inside text field is called tfield, and is dynamic with a var: output2. It renders as HTML (but doesn't have to if you have a better solution). It gets its text from a different input field.
I have a "dropdown" menu with 2 buttons (instance names arial and georgia).
On the root I have this code:
Code:
onEnterFrame = function() {
draggabletext.output2 = "<font face="" +textface+ "" color=""+textcolor+"">" + inputBox.text + "</font>";
[Code]...
I have embedded the fonts. Still, I can not get the text to change between the font faces when I click the buttons.

I know that you can format text in XML through CDATA and htmlText option in flash.. my question is if one can format the content of an attribute in the same way.. i.e:If I have the following line in my XML file:
<main Name="Hello World" Link="home.swf"/>
is it possible to format the "Hello World" text? Can I for example put the CDATA option in the content of the "Name" -tag like so:
<main Name="<![CDATA[<font color="#00FFFF">Hello World</font>]]" Link="home.swf"/>
I've heard that one can do like this though:
<main Name="<font color='#0F0F0F'>Hello World</font>" Link="home.swf"/>
But no success..

I'm using Flash CS5 and AS3. I've made a form using the library's "User Interface" object and I want to change the font size for the TextInput and TextArea fields but I can't find any option in their properties to change it.
I've tried this code
var myTextFormat: TextFormat = new TextFormat();myTextFormat.size = 14;email_txt.setStyle("textFormat", myTextFormat);
even though I don't get any error while publishing, my page doesn't appear, if I remove this code the page comes back to work.
How can I do to change the font size?
