Oct 5, 2010I am working on a as3 project in which the user select a font from Combo Box and that font SWF should be loaded Dynamically and then i need to change the font of the Dynamic text field.
I have swf font files downloaded from [URL]
My question is that how can i load the font swf dynamically from server and add them to the library and how can i use that swf to change the font of dynamic text field.
if there are embedded fonts in library the i can access them using this- --

To do this, I've downloaded and embedded the GG Subscript and GG Superscript fonts, created a dynamic text box with Arial as the font, and added ActionScript code to change the font when I need subscripts and superscripts. the following is a simplified version of my code.

I get a compiler error 1119 Access of possibly undefined property html through a reference with static flash.text:TextField. The text box is a dynamic text box, not static, so I'm puzzled.I don't get this error with the GG Subscript code above.

When i change the font size and font color i get the result i want.But when i try to change the font-family, or to make a part of text in italics or bold i fail to get what i want.I also tried this:

What's Working I have all the sizes loaded into the comboBox - when clicked it displays all the possible font sizes (ie. 4 - 40 for my uses). The thing is when I click it it doesn't do anything.
I really don't know where to start getting this to work. I did the easy part. I know there are text Editors (and even better ones that cost), but I'm wanting to 1) know what I'm doing and 2) have it just change the font size.
Current Settings Publishing with AS 2.0 and using the ComboBox Component that comes with MX2004 (F7)

Mar 30, 2009I am trying to create a combobox where the items listed in the combobox are font names and each item will display using the font of the item label. For instance, one item label in the list is "New Times Roman" and I want that particular row in the combobox to have the text AND font of "New Times Roman". For some reason, inside of my custom CellRenderer class, I cannot seem to find a way to get the item label that corresponds to the CellRenderer and the CellRenderer.data item always appears to be null!
This is the code I am currently using:

This works, and the combo box and its drop down get tinted.....EXCEPT when t_uintBgColor is white - 0xFFFFFF. What happens then is the combo box is just its default gray color.
And what is the best solution for coloring the background of a ComboBox?

Jun 25, 2008I am trying to change width of ComboBox instance. I want to change width of the original box, not the list. List width can be changed with inst.dropdownWidth=myWidth; ComboBox width can be changed by free transforming in Flash IDE, but that is not exactly ideal. There should be a code solution for this (I hope). Anyone know or know where to find out? I could not find it in the documentation strangely enough (or maybe I just missed smtg obvious).

Feb 12, 2009I've got this weird problem with Flash in a embed browser in an ASP.NET Windows Application. I've got this Flash Movie that runs in the Windows application and has got a couple of comboboxes. I've added an eventlistener to such a box, but his change event isn't triggerd on some computers. When I click on the combobox it opens up, but when I click on an item in the combobox it closes before he could trigger the change event.
The weird part is that this occurs on some computers, on others it works as it should. And when I load the swf directly in the browser the comboboxes work all the time. So it has something to do with the Windows Application and Flash. All the tested computers have the Flash plugin version 9 and higher (needed for my movie) installed.

Feb 13, 2006I have tried changing all the styles associated with the combobox (borderColor, etc), and set borderStyle to none (which made the border go away around the dropdown menu) but I can't for the life of me get the border that's around the main part of the combobox to go away or change color. I skinned the button to get it to be red, but I just can't figure out how to change that last detail.

Feb 7, 2011I'm trying to embed a font in my project by using url("font.ttf") rather than local("Font Name"), but it doesn't seem to pick it up. The font in question is called "Gotham Bold". When i view the details of the font, the font weight is regular, however when i use local("Gotham Bold") in the css i have to specify fontWeight: bold or else it wont pick it up. But when I use url("folderGotham-Bold.ttf"), and specify fontWeight: bold, it says that font weight is not found for that TTF. If i remove the fontweight, there's no errors, but the font is not applied to the text.
