Jul 27, 2009i want to close browser by clicking on close button embedded swf. I have tried fscommand("quit"), but which is not working on browser.

Nov 3, 2010I am working on a secure network in which the computers have and will never touch the internet (yes, its sad). I am putting together a series of documents in Flash while using AS2. With the system we are using they have to be embedded into a HTML page so the old fscommand is out. Also without being connected to the internet or opening these documents w/ javascript good ol' getURL("javascript:window.close()") will not work either.

Jul 22, 2009close w browser window from within the movie, on a button click. I have read zillions of posts and threads, including old stuff dating since 2000 and nothing seems to work.
Code: Select allgetURL("javascript:CloseWindow();");
and tried to "translate" to AS3, doesn't work. Tried to use fscommand "quit", but just got totally lost. The best I did is being able to close SWF when it plays alone, but it doesn't work when it is embedded in HTML.....

When the button is clicked, the code seems to open a new browser window then close it immediately, looks like a flicker on the screen.

Jan 31, 2008I have a picture with an invisible button, once clicked on the button runs a movieclip with an instance - box1, once its opened a close button appeared, called closeBtn1 and the idea is when thats clicked, for box1 to gotoAndPlay frame 80, but no matter where I put the code it doesnt seem to let the closeBtn work! Even trace actions aren't getting recognised![code]as u can see I'm trying to trace even if the closeBtn gets rolled over but to no avail.I have also tried it from scene level and still no joy.
