When you move your mouse over the image, it changes to a black screen with a cursor following mask in the shape of binoculars which reveals an image below (not the same image as static one).There is going to be a clickable monster which takes you to the next scene and from there,the next scene.I have attached a storyboarded idea of my banner.I have the images, I am just struggling with the ActionScript code.Click on the image to see comments on right hand side.

Aug 23, 2009I just got Flash CS4 yesterday. This is the first time I have ever used Flash. I watched some tutorials and now I'm trying to do something on my own. I want some text against a white background to start out white in the lower-left corner. During the animation I want the text to move to the upper-right corner and turn black gradually as it goes. What I did was this:
created an actionscript 3 file
Made some white text at the bottom-left
Right clicked at the 90th frame on the timeline and clickedInsert KeyFrame
Right clicked between the 1st and 90th frames and clicked Create Classic Tween.
At the 90th frame I moved the text to the upper right. Then I clicked on proprties and set the text effect to brightness and set the brightness to 0 so the text would be black.When I hit enter to go through the timeline it shows me exactly what I expected: The text moves from lower left to upper right and gets darker as it goes.
When I hit Ctrl+Enter to preview it as a published movie the text stays white the whole time until it gets to the upper right. There it turms black. So all I see is nothing for a few seconds and then a flash of the black text.Also, if I click at each frame in the timeline I can see the text is in a different place and getting brighter gradually.I'd like it to play once rather than looping. Under the effects I clicked on a thing that says play once but it still loops. Where do you control this?
Professional :: FLA File Load Black In CS5.5?
Aug 1, 2011I got a flash file from my friend he uses Macromedia Flash 8, I use CS5.5 (Flash 11.5). When I open the file I get a blank project that looks like something should be there. Does anybody know how I can fix this. I ask my friend and he can't send anything else other than this cause this is all he has and know of the issue but don't know how to address it.

Flash :: Why Do URLReqeusts Not Load Files When Move Them To A Web Server
Jan 11, 2012When developing a flash project on my machine I can use something like:

As long as the images.xml file is located in the same directory as the .fla then it works fine. However once I move the .swf, .xml and my images to the web it all goes down the drain. The .swf can no longer find the .xml file and I know why. Using FlashBug I can read the error in the console.

And there's the problem when I move my .swf to my web server the URLRequest adds my domain to the request. Since the file was just located in the same directory on my machine it didn't cause an issue to just say "images.xml" but now in order to make it work I have to change it to [URL]
I want to know if there is a way to force the .swf to just continue to look in the directory it is in for the files it needs. I think having to spell it out is counter-intuitive because then I can't just move the files without having to re-write my AS3 code.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Load 1 Swf Per Frame: Move Down TL As Each Swf Finishes Playing?
Jan 22, 2008I have about 30 very simple external swfs--each contain an image with tweened fades and rollover-to-pause/rollout-to-resume actions. They're loaded onto the main timeline one after another as a slideshow. It's an auto-play and loop: each image swf loads the next one on to the empty movie clip after it is done playing. (i.e., swf1's last frame loads swf2, and so on.)
This set up was fine until I realized that I should have a place-marker--something that indicates where you are in the slideshow. No other functions (go to next/previous) for the marker. I just need to show graphically that you're seeing the 5th of 30 images. The graphic is 30 dark dots that get filled in as you progress.
To do this, I figured it would be easiest if I designate 1 frame per image (=one swf) on the main timeline. So, frame 1 will load 1.swf and when 1.swf finishes, frame 2 will load 2.swf. This will make it easy for me to color in the appropriate dots according to where we are in the slideshow.
What I think I need to figure out is to "pause" at each of the frames on the main timeline until the loaded swf is done playing. They're all different in length--some are 50 frames and some are 90 frames long.
I almost had it figured out from massive googling, but I honestly don't understand it well enough to tweak what I've found to do what I want it to do.
Also, if there is a way that I can easily make the "place marker" work without changing the way it is currently set up (1 frame in main time line; 30 swfs that load one another), that would be even more awesome!

Sep 6, 2009I've built a photo gallery that resizes with the window browser. The only problem is that when I first open up the window the gallery is not properly scaled to fit the window size. I was given a tip that when you place resizeListener(null); in the code. This worked, but the only problem is that the image scales disproportionately when the window loads. I've noticed that when I tinker around with some of the code (highlighted in RED below) it effects this, but I have not figured out how to resolve it.

I got it outsourced as i dont know my flash but the guy sent it to me like this.[code]however, the logo was then black in the background. which was really annoying, cause i'd asked for a transparent background and now i had a black one which didnt match the gradient of the header of the page.so i went back to the logo designer and i asked, he didnt know how to make the background transparent with this new code i've used. But if will write 2 Tween, the 2nd one will overwrite the 1st one, so I only see the obj moving in the 2nd Tween direction, not the 1st Tween direction. I know the coordinates for the 2nd Tween below is not correct (cos all coordinates shld follow the defined reference point), so I need to find out the logo's width and height. But is alright now cos it is for testing purpose.

Videodisplay Control - Black Screen?
Jun 18, 2009Cut and pasted example with buttons for videodisplay control in chp 9 of Adobe Flex 3 developer guide. Having problems.
History - take avi, create flv. In my mxml, file define mx:videodisplay, refs flv file and define buttons for play and pause, all within mx:application.
Compile mxml with mxmlc to create swf. Call swf file within html using <object> and <embed>. Run html.Result is that the buutons show but the video control is black - no video.i have written mxml file as an air file (so use mx:windowedApplication) and compile with amxmlc and the resultant app runs as expected.I can also convert the flv into an swf file and run that from html but then I do not get buttons.

Nov 26, 2009I've really been 'chomping-on-the-bit' to try some of the touch programming features of the next release of flash, but I haven't got a phone for it yet. Flash 10.1 doesn't come out for a little bit so I've been putting off doing any research on it. But I glanced through the fliers tonight and I'm seeing some REALLY good deals. So the big question is, which phone would be the best for a touch screen programmer. I'm not looking to dazzle my friends, but I am looking to have a piece of equipment that will suite my needs as a developer. I understand that the iPhone doesn't use Flash, so that one is definitely off of the list.

Dec 21, 2009I have seen numerous threads talking about Adobe Media Encoder producing black bars when converting videos. Some are saying it's a bug w/ CS4, others are saying its something to do w/ non-square pixels.My dilema is, I have some .mov files created in Final Cut Pro with a 4:3 aspect in NTSC. I need to convert them to .flv so I can stream them on a website. My current settings are:
FLV - Web Large, PAL Source (I'm using PAL because it seemed to create a better quality video when I was streaming)
Export Video
Export Audio
On2 Codec[code]....
When I export the files and try to play them in a web flash player (480x400) I get black bars on the top and bottom. I don't really have a lot of experience doing video editing so I'm shooting in the dark here.I have adjusted a lot of the pre-mentioned settings but still no luck.

When the swf is playing in Full Screen mode, the video plays fine, but when the video is over and it's time to play the animation, the screen goes black. Aug 19, 2011I have a project which consists of a menu, which is put into fullscreen using "stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE;" on the first frame.The menu navigates to three seperately loaded swf's which match the fullscreen resolution. However, when the swf's are loaded the screen is black while in fullscreen. They can only be seen when I hit esc to take it out of fullscreen. Put it back into fullscreen and the screen returns to black. (The code does not break or throw an error, everything works fine outside of fullscreen). None of these problems occur in Flash Pro, only after I have exported them and tested them out on a different computer. I don't have a lot of code in the menu sections, and each swf tested individually works fine, fullscreen or not.
Anyone have any idea of anything I might try? I've been lost on this for a few days now, and it's the only thing keeping me from completion.
