My header is an mc with buttons that load swf's into a main content mc with this:on (release) { loadMovie("myswf.swf", _root.holder); and that works perfectly (content loads into mc with no page refresh).But..one of my loaded swf's has the same button code on a button to load swf's into the same mc and I get a page refresh.
I need browser refresh (page reloading), when we click on button in swf file. i dont know flash scripting. i want just html page reload when i click button in swf file. i want code for page refresh.
I'm trying to use a loadMovie function inside a loop to load external PNG files when my game is loaded. Unfortunately, I can't get even a single loadMovie to work correctly, much less execute a bunch of them.The code is on the root time line, and is targetting an empty movie clip that is nested inside about 3 levels. There is a button, with a movie clip on it, and the empty clip I'm trying to load into on that.so the full target path is myBox_00.smallBox.myLogo(myBox_00 is the button, smallBox is the movie clip, and myLogo is the empty)[code].I even tried using a JPG image instead of a PNG and still no luck. The best I could do was number 4; and that didn't work, all it did was SOMETHING instead of NOTHING... unfortunately that something was to make the button (myBox_00) disappear entirely T_T.I've never had much luck with loading external images. What am I missing here?
I've been having a right nightmare with this one. So here goes: I've created a dragable MC with a button assigned the following AS:
[Code]....
When I publish, the button does not load test.swf. I have created a blank MC 'container' for test.swf to load to but I need the button to be inside of the dragable MC. The .swf loads when the 'container' is cut and pasted into the dragable MC but to my novice suprise the .swf and the MC would be now both dragable My question is how do I load the .swf with this button inside of the MC and the 'container' outside?
I had an issue with my index.html testing on IE and the preloader just stalls on "loading 0%". he told me that locally the progress event doesn't have time to load and to try uploading it to your server and see if it works. It worked just fine. Rah Rah Kglad.
So today I'm fine tuning the swf/ fla to clean it up. Reduced some picture sizes and deleted unused files and reduced the swf from 4000 KB to 350 KB Rah Rah Gene. replaced the swf in Dreamweaver and re-uploaded with Filezilla. Rah ah Filezilla.
Everything working great and my preload went from 23 seconds to less than 3. So I'm real happy except for one small issue. Firefox and IE both do this. If I hit the refresh button, it stalls on "loading 0%" once again just like it did locally.
If I hit the refresh several times it WILL refresh randomly....2 times refresh......10 times refresh etc.

Spoke to my hosting company who said everything seems fine on the server. BTW he said Chrome did NOT have this issue Rah Rah Chrome.
My new website is carolineofbrunswick (dot) co (dot) uk. As you can see, there's a ton of blank space off to the right of the pages, and I can't figure out how to get rid of it.
It's caused by the Flash objects in the right-hand column. Changing the width attributes on those Flash objects just causes them to not appear at all, though the blank space still exists.
I put together an .html page using a photoshop jpg that I sliced into sections. I was asked to replace two graphics from the original .jpg file with animated content of the same size. Using my slices as a guide for size, I created the two animated graphics in flash and saved them out as .swf files. They are both the exact same size(px) as the static images. I opened my newly sliced html file in dreamweaver, deleted the static images and placed the .swf files.
For some reason the .swf files cause gaps in my html page. Tere are no borders on the .swf files and I can't figure what I've done wrong.
One note: It seems to only ad space when viewing from Mozilla. Havent' tested it on a pc yet either.[URL]
Below is code for the left hand speaker:

I have a flash file and am using google's suggested method for as2 event tracking like so:
getURL("javascript:pageTracker._trackEvent('Refferal', 'Join', 'Benefits for HCAs/APs');");
The problem is that instead of silently communicating, pageTracker._trackEvent() appears to return a boolean value. Every time I click the button which this is located on I leave the page I was on and end up on a page that just contains the word "true".how to get around this? It makes the flash unusable.
I'm pretty new to flash and was hoping someone could offer some guidance with shared objects.hen the user refreshes the page by either refreshing or moving to another page the movie replays which is not the desired action.
I have a preloader SWF that, depending on flashvars passed to it, will load an external SWF. The secondary SWF would load but wouldn't have any of the public functions available to the preloader. After extensive trouble shooting, I discovered that it was an issue with teh TLF text field I had created in the secondary SWF.
The secondary SWF will play perfectly as a stand alone with the TLF, and the secondary will load perfectly into the preloader SWF with all available public methods, but only after I change the TLF field to a classic text field.
I am trying to access a button inside an external swf file that I loaded. Problem is every time I try to access this button I get an error saying that it's null!
Here is my code:
public class DocumentClass extends Sprite { public var loader:Loader; public var swfFile:URLRequest;
[Code].....
Now this should work, code-wise I think its correct. The problem is that loader cant find the required button. There is indeed a button in the loaded movieClip with an instance name of "button", I double checked that.
[URL] basically i was just a layer too high and this is why i couldn't access anything..
I have a movie that loads swfs into a loader within and MC on the main file/stage. The code within the movie clip housing the loader is (NOTE: I worked up an simplified fruits/veggies example to work out issues, I am not a fruit/veggie expert or anything):
[Code]....
That repeats every time either button is clicked after that. NOTE: I tested this after removing the preloader code(and moving the frames around to remove the blank first frame) in the external swfs and it worked fine jumping back and forth between them. I have already plugged away at this solving a series of issues to get to this point and I have the feeling this is a pretty simple fix, but I am not sure whether I should be looking in the external swf file itself or in the loader code in the main file to solve it.
I have a file upload tool that I created in flash (as2). The file uploads images and then writes the image details to a database. However, I seem to have a problem then when I refresh the page, the upload script keeps working.And this seems to cause some issues with writing to the database when image don't actually appear to be on the server. I have fixed the issue by doing some checking to see if the file actually exists before writing to the server, but I would like to know why this happens.
why a site wouldn't load on first pull up? I have to press refresh to get it to pull up the content. All the content is dynamic pulling from a SOAP server.. Any clue why it wouldn't load? I don't think its a prob. with the content or the server. I used to have a random background script in there. But now we aren't using a random back ground.
I have a flash movie that I want to play once. If someone refreshes the page or goes to another page with same movie, I want it not to replay the animation. Is there any way to do that in Flash 8 and without frames or iframes.
I have a swf file in which a simple animation is playing in which it starts from frame 1 and stop on frame 35i have two html page in which embedded same swf on both html pages i have a link in one html page when i click this link second html page opensin which same swf embedded which is loaded again in this page ....I only want that when i go to second html page swf should not reloaded
how I can prevent flash from reloading when my page is refreshed? When I user clicks the search button the whole page reloads with the data they were looking for but the flash animation at the top of the page also reloads and I would like to prevent this.

So far my code takes hex codes out of tweets containing a certain hashtag, and draws a square of that hex code colour. If someone were to tweet a new set of hexcodes while you were looking at the site, you would have to manually refresh the page to see the new squares.
What I want the SWF to do is play from the beginning when someone hits the index.php file and gotoAndStop(234) when someone goes to a sub-page (like contact.htm).What I did first was:
<CODE> function checkSO() { var SO = SharedObject.getLocal("siteSO"); if (SO.data.visitedAlready != undefined) {
[code]....
And that worked in the sense of no cookie-it loads and plays the swf from the beginning. If
there is a cookie it starts from frame 234.
As it sits now as long as the cookie exist in the TIF everytime they return to my page it will not play the opening animation it will just jump to then end even on the index.php.
I have a swf embedded in a Joomla site that displays artwork. Everything works great, the only problem is when the user browses page to page the swf refreshes everytime whihc means the user is viewing the same artwork over and over. How can I get this swf to play continuously while the user is browsing instead of refreshing with every click. From the research I have found it seems the answer lies in using a sharedObject. I have found tons of info using sharedObjects but usually in a drag drop type situation, but nothing for storing timeline position.

I have a bizarre situation in IE where JS can't call up into flash using ExternalInterface after I hit "refresh". I know the movie is getting loaded and the code that does the ExternalInterface.addCallback() appears to be completing without any error Here's a rundown of the steps to reproduce:
Open IE and load up the movie for the first time, the ExternalInterface callback methods are available to JavaScript. If I hit refresh, the callback methods aren't available and I get the error Object doesn't support this property or method.If I clear my cache and refresh the page, they are available again.If I then hit refresh again without clearing my cache, they're unavailable.If I close the browser and reopen, they're available again.
I've run into this situation before and I'm pretty sure that the extra delay required to download and instantiate the swf is what's allowing ExternalInterface to get set up properly. The way I worked around this before was to add a random number to the end of the swf's url, so that it's never used from cache, but that's not a real solution.
