I am trying to have multiple links off site but have hit a brick wall. If I have the code listed below, it opens the second link as soon as you open the links page, If I have the"function onLinkClick (evt)", above btn6_btn I end up with the duplicate error message. Is there a way to have multiple link buttons on a page. I have played with this for hours.

When the button is pressed, it tries to open in a new tab or in a new window (depending on if you are using Firefox or IE) and first gets blocked by the pop up blocker.
How can I make this where it opens without targeting "_blank" ???

I've designed a slide show player using Actionscript 3.0 which loads several external images. While the images are loading, the HTML links on my page (outside of the Flash movie) don't work. As soon as all the images are loaded, the links start working again. It seems like the Flash player is hijacking the browser while the images are loading which can take the better part of a minute depending on my connection speed. I can click an HTML link once during the loading time and as soon as the images have loaded, the browser loads the new page (the one the HTML links to). Once all the images are in my Temporary Internet Files folder, this problem ceases to exist (since the images no longer need to be downloaded)

View 1 RepliesI'm working on a flash header for a website with the page links contained in an external .txt file, and I'm experiencing a strange problem.The site is both in English and Italian: I worked first on the english version, I modified the AS code for the new .txt file and then I saved the project with another name and translated all the text into Italian.I also changed the name of the external .txt file as well as all the page links contained therein.Problem is when I click a page link in the Italian version of the site, the links are the same of the English version; seems like the .swf file "remembers" the old links just as I never changed the file name.This is the "_urls_IT.txt" file:

I've gone through an mp3 tutorial series and modified the final result for what i'm looking for. one thing i would like though is to be able to add another attribute in for a clickable button that links to another page that would have lyrics. so my xml would look like this i believe or something close <song name ="Test Track 4" band ="Band4" file="test4.mp3" lyrics="testlyrics.html" /> basically so it adds another button in after the track listing so you can click and view the lyrics that would be on a separate page. I don't quite understand how it all draws together in flash actionscript and how to put the lyrics attribute on another button.

I have an object on the stage (with an instance called mcBlackboard) that contains two buttons.
I'm trying to make these buttons link to pages on my site but I get the following error(s):

My guess is that it's not finding the buttons in the movieclip (since the script worked fine when the objects were on the stage).[code]...

I used "getURL" but this way user is forced to open the file, I want to make him able to download the file and save it to his hard disk. How I can make this? My goal is making a navigation section that is a scrollable box. I thought the easiest solution was to make a dynamic text box and put a scroll bar on it. Worked until it came time to make the links. It is only letting me make one link for all the text. Also I think I want more control for the mouseover look.

View 8 RepliesI have followed the tutorial by b.rich on Arrays and attachmovie to try and make a movie with a list of links. the MC that I attach dynamically has a AS 2.0 class attached to it to handle its rollover and rollout states. An invisible button in the MC (instance name lbutton) carries the AS for the link and sits on the topmost layer. My newbie brain just cannot get around two problems:
1. The links just wont work.
2. I have quite a long list of these. How do I fit them all in the MC (all my attempts show the links spilling out of a container MC and onto the main stage), make the MC scrollable and then put it on the stage?
I found a cool menu that I'd like to be able to use but right now I don't know how to make the buttons become functional links. If its just a matter of editing the XML only? Or...does something need to be added to the actionscipt as well. I have a hunch both need to be edited and I have already tried various revisions. Im trying to make a projector movie that links to a pdf (in the same folder) on a CD that needs to run in both windows and mac. Im able to get it to work on a pc but not on mac. here is the code for the button i used in the projector.

you put that text in a text field in flash but you will need to have links on the word flash and illustrator and freehand... how do you do the links? do you convert all the text to a graphic and then transform the works that you want in buttons??
