To make a simple rollover with a click to go to another page, I'm thinking there has to be a easier way sticking to coding still. I don't want to place the code on the button but keep it on the timeline like above.

Jan 29, 2004I want to be able to make a movie clip (that acts as a button) so the roll over effect finishes before the roll off effect is triggered. Like if a marker circles a button, i want the circling animation to stop before the roll off effects happens. Anyone know how to do this.

Aug 7, 2009I have a movie clip with 15 frames. Each frame has buttons on it (mc's)... I was going to put the actions on the main timeline/stage and navigate within the MC from the main timeline. Is that possible? I can get the buttons on the first frame of the MC to work, but I can't seem to figure out how to target/make the buttons on the other frames work? I was thinking I could identify the path of the MC with the frame labels, but that doesn't seem to work. like: _root.RMChanger.(frame label).buttonOnFrame = function
I have to move a text box in and out over the MC backgrounds on the main stage... which is why I was thinking to do it this way? I've been switching back and forth bwtween AS2.0 and 3.0
ActionScript 1/2 :: Make A Menu That Has OnRelease Buttons On Top Of OnRollover Buttons
Mar 20, 2011I'm trying to make a menu that has onRelease buttons on top of onRollover buttons (the onReleases are on a separate layer from the onRollovers). The onRelease buttons take the user to different urls, and the onRollover buttons are supposed to allow different parts of the menu to appear.
The onRelease buttons work fine, but I can't get the onRollover buttons to work consistently. Sometimes the onRollover buttons will correctly advance to a different frame, and sometimes they "stick" and do not advance. The script has no errors and I've tried changing the sizes of the onRollover buttons (in case they were too large and the cursor was hovering over more than 1 at the same time), changing the order of the code for the onRelease and onRollover commands (in case the onRollovers were being superseded by the onRelease commands), and countless variations of the layers and frames.
I'm sure that you'll want to see the script, but I don't think that pasting it all on this post would be reasonable? So I've put the .fla and the .swf on this page for reference: [URL]

Mar 31, 2011Well I have this interactive design for a website that I am making for myself. The problem is that on the top layer just under my actions layer I have a texture that I use to give my whole design a really nice feel even the buttons. The layer is blending using multiply in flash even tried a soft light blend using an external swc but it was slowing down my animation to much. Anyway my buttons are underneath that layer so it gives that really nice effect to them. How can I get around this cause when I publish I cant click on any buttons since the layer above them seems to be blocking them which is the texture layer?

I have some buttons on my page that fade as you roll over them, and they were working fine, UNTILL i changed my Publishing Settings>Flash >JPEG settings.. from 80 % to 100%. But even if i changed it to 81% it still messes up the fade. When i say messes up i mean the fade stops fading, and it just snaps from the pic to black.

Jan 15, 2009On the stage I have 3 objects on the stage which are on top of each other:
top: transparent button (which controls the mc underneath)
under this button: an image which is a mc
under this image: a graphic background with text that describes the image, and a new trans button which will send the users to a separate url.
Problem:The button to go to the url does not work.
To make things simply, I have the top button setting the alpha of the mc to 0% onRollover, in order to view the text. And reset it to 100% on RollOut.
how I can still get this effect with the rollovers, and get my url button to work too?

i personalized to my needs and it works fine
at the end of the roll in the zoom in should stop and i have three buttons who send me to other three sites
when i put the button on the stage this will not work.. probably is the code of the complexbutton who blocks the other buttonfunction....

Aug 14, 2007I'm using this complex rollover button on my site i found here --> [URL] What i'm looking to do is have this effect trigered when a second button is rolled over as well. Is there a way to target this movie clip effect from the _root timeline? I was able to achieve this halfway by using labels but I am not able to reverse the animation on roll out with this method.

Jan 24, 2010I'm using the code bellow to change the color of button on rollover and rollout. Tried to disable the button using mouseEnabled = false, but when rollout, the button changes color, instead of keeping it's rollover state.

in short, when a button is rollover, it has to change its tint to "blue", when rollout, change to "null", when clicked should remain in "blue state", and restore the previous clicked button to "null state color".

(Dumb question) I don't know why the pictures from flickr feed are not showing when my site is online. It works on my local but I just saw that it doesn't when online. I thought flickr has a crossdomain.xml.
2. (This is my real question) How can I make a shadow of the last row? If you look at Cooliris plugin you will see that the wall looks like being placed over a shiny glass so the last row is reflected. What's the best practice to do that? Can I duplicate all thumbnails from the last row and just rotate them? Is that good for the CPU and memory when I will deal with a very long wall?
