Now my problem is that if i put my content inside the movie-clip (centerrectangle) with all the animation require, link and other stuff, the movieclip (center rectangle ) never have the exact same center, thus making the script go wild trying to always adjust the location to the variable size of the movie clip.

CS3 - Open New Browser Window From Flash?
Feb 15, 2011I'm running an online game site, and a few websites are really bad about embedding some of my games and stealing bandwidth.
To combat this, I replaced the original files with super-simple .swf files that redirected back to my own websites -- thus stealing back the traffic that they were stealing from me.
The problem came later when something changed with the new Flash player, and new windows no longer opened. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get new windows to open. I've tried a few different approaches, but nothing appears to work.
So what I'm wondering is, can this even be done anymore -- where I can switch out a .swf that's being leeched with one that opens a window to my own site?

Apr 25, 2011I am building a kiosk app in flash and need to open browser windows whenever there is a URL link. The problem is that when the browser window opens, the fullscreen flash becomes a resizable window and the user has to close the window and open the flash app again to make it full screen again. So i'm wondering if there's any way I can open a browser window within the flash app sort of like an iframe or lightbox pop up? I've heard of this Native Window thing but I'm not sure what that is.

I have a main flash movie for the index page called inverse.swf, on that main movie it has Photo swf as a sub movie, if you click Photo button. hence it will lead to sub swf movie(photo.swf), if you click pix which says Ripple the separate browser in width 440 height 325 should show up, but instead it shows up in huge browser instead. Like you said on your site, I tried to use Get URL and put the script as [URL] but what I got confused about was if I needed to publish the Photo.swf, since that is the movie it has the button. Oct 31, 2009I am trying to open a new browser window from within my Flash app. To do this, I am using the line:[URL]..The problem is that when I test the code from in Flash CS4 nothing happens! It's like the line of code isn't there. But when I manually open the .html file which Flash CS4 generated that embeds my .swf, then the Flash app opens in my browser and promptly opens a new window to yahoo juat like it should, so it does not seem to be an AS3 syntax issue. I just got a new computer yesterday, with a fresh install of Flash CS4. I do not have this problem on my old computer. The old computer runs the code perfectly. Could there be some weird default security settings at work here in Flash CS4?
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of problem, or any clue what might be happening?

Mar 30, 2007I've tried all the tutorials on kirupa, checked out adobe live docs, forums all the works and i've tried 20 different methods to open a browser window with a fixed width and height. i'm using Flash 8 and am wondering if there is a new method for opening a browser window with ixed params. it seems every tutorial i find is for flash 5 or earlier and none of them work. and i've tried opening them both in firefox and ie. the standard getURL _blank works fine of course...i just need to adjust the window size to scale to an image.
