this simple table has some few columns: id, buttonlabel, dir, filesBut I need to have these buttons created automatically on flash. I mean, when I insert a new line into "buttons" table, a new button is created on flashSaw something related to XML, but I dont think it would be necessary since flash can get the mysql results with PHP.

View 3 Repliesthe idea it's to have a textfield of 200px width where the username gets loaded. The thing is that i need the font size to be as big as possible to fit in that textfield. So if the username is shorter the font size should increase if the username is longer the font size should decrease. So I am guessing i should be counting character and knowing how big each character is and then according to that make a mad algorithm to set the font size to make the text fit.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a query from Flash Builder to PHP/mySQL with selectedItems. I have a simple SELECT query set up to populate a datagrid of items I would like to select for main query (two records looks something like this "19 10","20 10"). This is where I get stuck. I don't know if I need to break down the selectedItems in Flash Builder for formatting in SQL or if I can do it in PHP.
I would assume that it should be done in Flash Builder and I would then send the partial SQL statement to PHP. As of right now, Flash Builder is holding the selected values as CustomObjects and I unsure of how to retrieve what is in the objects for formatting.

View 3 RepliesI have a typical Flex-based application that was written to use a Java/Hibernate/MySQL backend. The client changed the requirements - now they want to distribute it on a CD where the user can just run the app without any installation or a network connection.
To do this, I certainly need to eliminate the web server and the database server and adapt my application (with as few changes as possible, of course) to a stand-alone application that will fit on a CD/DVD. I've managed to export the data to XML and read it into Flex, but I'm wondering if there's a way to recreate the Hibernate data structures in Flex so I could change as little code as possible. Failing that, is there any way to keep the existing Java/Hibernate external to the Flex code but retrievable without installing Apache Tomcat or MySQL?

View 1 RepliesI need to create a login page in my flash site that relates to information input to a mysql database. after the submit their information we want to send them a link to a differnt flash page with a login screen they will use their first name and a password (already in our database) to gain access to this "new" page. on that page there will be a welcome message that says "Welcome, User First Name" so I guess i have two questions
1: how do i set up a login page?
2: how do i pull that login info to a welcome page?
This is my first time of using php and mySQL and ive got it writing a score to the database and working out the players rank... Im doing this on its own before having to put it into a game im having to make.

View 5 RepliesI am having a problem where my buttons on main timeline are working fine. When I create a button within a movieclip layer (a page importeded from Photoshop as a movieclip) the button is not working once I leave. It doesn't show as a working button when I select Enable simple buttons, when I preview or publish as HTML. The thing is, it is a button, it has an instance name, is that weird blue color... and it works fine when I am double clicked into that movieclip layer. I also tried common library buttons and they work fine until I leave that layer as well, also tried it within other layers and creating a new file and doing it... all no success!

View 4 RepliesI made a movie (looks like a button). Inside that movie, I have frame 1 - 36 for MOUSE_OVER, and the rest for MOUSE_DOWN. Frame 1 is for MOUSE_UP. I've assigned name to the movie home_mc, then went to scene1 and place a script on frame 1 (in separate layer):

The movie plays correctly,but whenever I move the mouse (while its still on the button), then the movie plays again; to me it looks like its a hitArea() not configured.
To check that I have set a button and placed my home_mc movie in OVER frame.
