I tried to create a function for detecting the last button click (and getting the label of that button to use inside the function), but I decided to make the functions much simpler to at least get the desired effect.
I'm trying to map XML tags inside an external file to the cells in a data grid. The only thing on the stage of my movie is a data-grid component with an instance name of dg. The movie loads an XML file named list.xml. Here are the contents of list.xml

However, when I test the movie, only the headings are correctly displayed. The rest of the grid is blank. I know the arrays for the names, prices, and quantities are full of data. I'm just not sure how to put their data into the grid.

I have a MovieClip which has a couple of text boxes embedded inside it. I'm trying to load data from an XML file and populate the text fields with this data. That's fine, all good. What I also need to do is create an instance of that MovieClip for each instance of a certain tag in the XML, and then load that instance of the MovieClip with the relevant information.
So, for this XML file (reduced to show only 2 CD entries):

So a new instance of myCirc needs to happen on each <CD> from the XML, and it's text fields need to contain the information from the XML.
It's working, but I get instances which contain all the text from all the <CD> sections of the XML, each one has all the titles, countries etc.
I import XML data in order to fill an AdvancedDataGrid (using Flex 4.5). This ADG is correctly filled with the data, columns display the right information etc. etc.
I would like to summarize this ADG using

But there is a problem! Indeed, the 'Cost' data are imported as 'Strings' and that is why I cannot do the SUM... I just get a nice 0 as a result! I would like to convert these data into Numbers, so that the addition can be processed. This conversion has to be done before filling the ADG I think.
I already tried to implement a custom summaryOperation but was unlucky...

The Alert always displays a void message, the data are not transmitted to this function I think
There is another thing: the user can insert new data in the XML dynamically and that insertion has to update the SUM result.

I've been putting data into an array via XML, and then selecting at random an image string to load in a pic at random. But whilst doing this, I wanted to remove the String from the Array that I have just used, so I don't get repetition of the same image in the output. I initially thought that pop would remove the string I had just used - But of course it Removes the last value in the Array instead, which doesn't really help.
Ok - so how about randomizing the data once inside the Array, after it has been pulled in from XML!? That way I can load in the 'last' image, and then pop it out! Keeping a randomized selection of images each time 'it' is loaded

How can I save data to a text file and also append a record to data in an existing text file? I've used Authowrware previously and it was quite easy to create a large string of data (a comma separated list) and export that to a text file (and create the text file if it didn't already exist). I could then easily append additional rows of data (records) to the text file. We want to build a questionnaire that will store the data locally on the computer in a text file. Each record may have a few hundred data points in a comma separated list.

What I need from this code is the following:
a. to pick up the mic activity level, read it, and based on the number put out a line
b. it to be kept to a minute, after the minute the screen is cleared and it plays back the lines and sounds that had been generated.
c. that nothing appears when the mic.activityLevel is 0
d.that when lines hit each other, a sound is made
I don't care if there is no playback, but right now I can't even get the lines to appear and I need the sounds to play when the lines hit each other.
I'm making a system to upload photos to a gallery. I'm using filereference, and it's working alright. I can upload like 20 files fine sometimes.. but when I do like 50, it starts giving me errors on over half the files.
The error is: Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2038: File I/O Error.
This may be a php error, or server error, I'm not sure. Because the file isn't even uploading at all.
I have an swf that sends info to a PHP file which in turn gets a SWF to FLV converter running. If I try this with a small 1kb swf file it works great and returns the results with in 5 seconds.However now that I step it up to convert the files in which it was intended, files ranging around 2 mbs, I get this error..

I have a Android Actionscript project that I am trying to incorporate sound in, but having a problem that I cannot figure out. I have the sound file in the same directory as my class file and my .xfl file. I am trying to start the music file as soon as the application starts via class reference, but am getting the same error everytime:

I have a function in my AS3 that frequently calls a PHP file. Most of the time it works but occasionally it fails and throws the error I used in the title. I researched this fairly extensively and started capturing the event in the following manner:

I have a problem with creating instances from classes created from embedded data taken from an external .swf which has loaded into its library various images exported to ActionScript as BitmapData.What confounds me is that, of 22 images that I'm loading, 14 of them work fine and can be instantiated and displayed to the screen in a test program. The rest of them throw Error #2136, "The SWF file contains invalid data."I'm using Flash CS4 with Flex 3.4.

Right now, the code in library_tester hits the error when it attempts to create Logo after creating two other variables set onto the stage.
