Mar 5, 2012I currently use FMS 4.5 to steam Live Technical Videos.
Hooked into Flash Media Live Encoder is a Roland VR-5 which lets me have multiple Camera switching.
I want to braodcast also a few live Audio only streams. I could easily use the VR-5 which in turn has a Behringer Audio Mixer attached to allow up to 16 Audio devices to be mixed in, and then just turn off the Video option in Flash Media Live Encoder but:
I don't want to have to put a video window on the Webpage. I just want an Audio controller.
So how can I use FlashMedia Server to just stream a live Audio feed?

Jun 10, 2010I am trying to broadcast live video using a webcam. I am using the developer version of FMS3.0. Actually i have a working code of webcam broadcasting, which i used before. But now i am using a free version of FMS3.0. When i tried to connect, the following error is showing:

Nov 11, 2010I am trying to encode and stream live video. I have downloaded both the Flash Media Encoder and Flash Media Server. The problem i have now is, i can't able to connect to Flash Media Server. The FMS url is as default: rtmp://localhost/live. Do i have to purchase a FMS url? How do i make sure that my FMS is running/ activated?

Actually it can seem to play the stream because I can hear audio but it is just unable to show up any video, anybody encountered this scenario before?Someone commented on some other sites to check if the "Enable Hardware Acceleration" in the Flash settings is checked, and I can confirm that it is checked, again this is only happening whenever I'm viewing a non-H264 stream

Aug 25, 2010I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes. I'm looking to stream a live webcam on my website and have no idea where to start. I've been searching for a while and various things refer to Flash Media Server but this is costly and, as I will be streaming from University, it will probably be blocked on the network or take up too much bandwidth.
Does anyone know of a way to stream a webcam, without FMS or Quicktime Broadcaster etc.? Any free websites that provide this service could be possible, so long as the stream isn't available to anyone outside my website.

Jun 10, 2011I have a client who needs a Flash video to stream from a website, the video which is being made from powerpoint slides is roughly 22 minutes long. With the voiceover it's gonna be pretty heavy. Way too long to stream correctly from my experience so in order to do this right I need to know which way to go here.
I broke up the fla's into 4 ( 5 minute .swfs)I finished the first and I'm working on the second .fla. the first fla was published with the html wrapper let's call it v1.swf.on thelast frame of v1.swf I used the loader class to load the v2.swf into the wrapper when v2.swf ends it will loadv3.swf all the way up to 5.
So far this works using the two .swfs which are on my server and are streaming.Before I continue I just to make sure I do not do unecessary work I need to know if the way I plan on doing is correct or is there another way.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Play FLV Video Commercial Then Live Stream?
Apr 8, 2009I need to play a .FLV file (a commercial), then switch over to a live RTMP stream. Then, every 30 minutes STOP the live stream (or mute/hide it if thats more efficient/effective) and play the commercial again, then continue with the stream for another 30 minutes and repeat. For some reason I'm clueless on how to do this. I don't know if I'm supposed to use timers or setInterval. For now I'm using the FLVPlayBack component (I'm too lazy to code my own right now).
It would be really cool if the script could sense when the video is done playing rather than me having to set a specific time because they might not all be the same length. I dont want my viewers seeing 15 seconds of nothing if its a 15 second commercial and I set a timer for 30 seconds.

Sep 23, 2010I'm trying to get Flex Builder 3 to play a live video stream with Flash Media Server and Flash Live Media Encoder.
I'm able to stream pre-recrorded (vod) flvs in flex from flash media server.
I'm able to stream live video using Flash/FMS/Flas Live Media Encoder, but not with Flex.
This code streams pre-recorded Video on Demand flvs, but not live streams:
If I change source to "rtmp://localhost/live/livesream.flv, I get nothing.

The only problem I face now is figuring out how to embed the live video object into my webpage. I am wondering if I could use a converter like ffmpeg and flex to accomplish this? Media Server :: Live Webcam Video Becomes Choppy After 600 Connections Per Stream?

16Gb RAM
2 Gbit ethernet channel
OS - Linux CentOS 5.5 x86_64
FMS4 Interactive
Live stream parameters:
320Ń…240 qua_=87 bw_=200000 kf_=5 fps_=18
So, after approximately 600 connections to one stream video becomes choppy (periodically freeze, slow motions). CPU-usage at this time is 100-120% (maximum is 800%, 100% per each core), network usage is 500 Mbit/sec.But second live stream(with few connections) at this server looks fine simultaneously with 600 connections at first stream.Experiments with recommendation in "Configuring performance features" documentation chapter(enabling/disabling aggregate messages and configure the size of stream chunks) do not help.

Dec 4, 2010I have a task before me that I have not spent any time researching in the past because I never thought I would have to do it... I need some specific advice from some of you gurus out there.I need to set up a training facility in which we film a teacher in HD and broadcast it live across the internet to 30 locations around town. I also need to have a live chat going with the video in which any of the viewers can ask a question to the teacher and he/she can answer it in the lecture being given.
The 30 locations that the viewers will be at will be a board room setting with an HDTV on the wall , and maybe a wireless keyboard and mouse that they can share to chat with the teacher.I know I can quickly figure out all of the video stuff, like lighting and cameras. I really need advice on all of the technical stuff that it takes for the live broadcast on the internet.
I imagine that I will choose a content delivery network, but which one? I imagine that I will use Flash Media Server, but which version? Do I need a real time transoding device to feed the analog HD video signals to to feed it to the computer? The company has T1, is it fast enough on the uploading to get what we need done?

Dec 17, 2010I've successfully set up a media server and a live broadcast today. I embedded the swf file into my website and my friends are able to see my broadcast. But my broadcast is only 10M. And the streaming bit rate is 1700. So once the audience is bigger than 6, the broadcast starts to slow down. I've seen on the website that peer-based networking technology can significantly reduce the bandwidth for a single stream, so that the audience can be expanded. Is there any tutorial describing how to implement this? BTW, is there any free VOD/LIVE template available on the net? I would like to encorporate a vod system on my website.

Jul 14, 2010I currently have two connections with two separate streams. They both hit the same fms 3.5 server. One connection transfers live audio and video. The other one is used for remote objects. Sometimes when viewing the audio and video stream with a slower internet connection, the stream for the shared objects disconnects. I think it is a bandwidth issue. Is there any way to set the priority of the streams? I think this should allow me to set a higher priority for the shared object connection so it won't disconnect.
