I'm receiving the following error when trying to access a property of my array. TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.The value I'm accessing works completely fine but the error above pops up when using the flash debug player only. My Firefox uses the flash debug player, Player Version: WIN 10,0,45,2 Debug Player: Yes. My IE which doesn't receive the error uses Player Version: WIN 10,0,45,2 Debug Player: No. The Player version info received by vising the flash version test page.
I'm using a custom event that gets dispatched from a class that makes a web service call.The web service call returns JSON data which I convert to an Object using JSON.decode from adobe corelib. After I have the Object, I use the below code to create an array from the Object.

Preloader Movie clip is the first one getting loaded. As i understood the error is getting thrown initially itself, and it is not happening due to any Action script logic written inline, because it is throwing error even before hitting the first inline AS code.I am not able to figure Out what exactly it causing the problem, or where to resolve it. i'm trying to load a swf with some as2 code into a swf file coded in as3, I am using a Loader object and when trying to load the as2 swf file i keep getting this: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference
I am building a site in Flash CS4 with AS3. I have one problem, and it seems to me that there are solutions everywhere for that it's just that I don't know how to solve it and implement it. I have 2 swf files. One is preloader and the other is main swf with the whole site. I use this preloader swf to avoid white screen because I have some scripts exporting to the 1st frame. In the main swf I have a single frame (index_mc) containg everything on stage. I am using Lightbox script and it is exported to the first frame. Beside that script I am using some scrollbar script. The problem is that I get #1009 error

Starting new thread for this topic as suggested by forum. I have a website which tweens movieclip pages (named home, bio, music, video and contact). Love the effect and trying to keep it. Main timeline contains the main buttons (home_btn, bio_btn, music btn, video_btn, contact_btn). Music page has a XML mp3 player contained in it with button control. Video page has an encoded video with no code.
I need the following:
1 - Music and video to shut off as those pages/movieclips tween off the stage. Gets annoying with them playing especially at the same time
2 - Music player to play correctly. It is not with the new code.
I have the following code. The "Tween Code" is on frame 1 of the main timeline of the movie. The "MP3 code" is on frame 1 of the music movie clip. I am getting the following ERROR message when running my movie. I ran the Debugger as I publish and it points to music.my_channel.stop(); in below code. My thought process on this was that it would reach out to the music movieclip, find my_channel and stop it.

I've been away for a while and I just started to work on my new portfolio website (in flash). The above code is working fine if i use the pages as above.. but i want the second menu item to display list item so i gave for frame 12 as flashmo_list_6.create("flashmo_228_news_list.xml") ; but it is throwing the below error

I've installed the latest debug version of Flash player plugin for Mac OS X. Diagnostic page [URL] confirms that the version of Flash plugin detected is debugger one. I'am also able to debug applications using Flash-builder debugging tools. But no runtime error pop-ups are shown during browsing. Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone know how to fix this strange behavior?
I've tried to uninstall the player using this application [URL] and reinstall Flash player again, but no luck.
UPD1: I've created additional user account and found out that error pop-ups are displayed successfully when switched to that account. So it's likely user-profile configuration issue.
I have a basic movie, where on the main timeline i have a series of stops to pause the movie,so the user can choose to proceed by selecting a play button. When the play button is pressed it plays a video. While it is playing this video there is also a button on stage allowing the user to skip to a frame label. I also have drop down menu on the same frames the play button is on in the form of a movie clip.This drop down menu contains buttons which navigate to the main timeline, to different frame labels.
But after selecting a few buttions (using the menu in the movie clip or not) I get the error "'A script in this movie is causing Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive.
I'm creating a simple gallery for a website which literally loads the next image when the image is clicked. I've set it up so that the images fade in. I've read through several threads about this error, but haven't been able to apply it to figure out my situation... My flash file is an approx 5 second animation. Then, the last keyframe of each layer (frame #133) has a button in it. I've searched the 'net and searched these forums but can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm creating a flash based game for school that so far has ten frames on the timeline. I have buttons on frame one, frame 5, and frame 10. I have actionscript code to control those buttons on frame 1, frame 5, and frame 10 respectively. The code is worded identically on each frame with the exception that I've changed the button names and the function names that are called when the mouse button is pressed. The code works fine on frame 1 and on frame 5, but when I click the button on frame 5 that sends me to frame 10, I get this error immediately:

I am having a problem loading a swf into a movieclip inside another swf. I keep getting this error message:

after googling the error, I have come to suspect that I am trying to load the swf before the stage is ready for it. Although, I load another swf and it loads fine. How can I verify which part of my movie is causing the problem?
I don't know why this is not working. I have a short quiz where in step one, the user clicks a button that populates text in a dynamic textbox. Then in step two, they do the exact same thing again.I've done research that suggests I'm getting this error because something is not loaded or something is not on the stage, but all of the items are on the stage and I'm not loading anything externally.
