I've just finished a free AS3 scroll bar class for those that think using the built in Flash components are too heavy or too stock looking. The class makes no use of images and draws everything out via code. Play around with the little demo to generate the look you want.
this seems to be a pretty solid build thus far. I don't have mouse wheel scrolling built in. Possibly for a future release.

I use function Close() to remove class itself but i noticed it doesn't frees memory. Is there any way to remove it completely and free used memory?
i'm trying to make a website with sliding pages via clicking on the buttons, scrolling a mouse wheel and draging a scroller button just like in this wesite [URL].. for a moment i have done navigation via buttons, it works perfectly but i'm strugling with adding scrollbar (just like in that website) that i want to make it scrolable via mousewheel and that drager on the right side.
can anybody help me to add those functions for mouse wheel scroll and drager.

I have created a website with 3 pages One of the pages has a scrollbar that scrolls images inside a masked box.I created its functionality with 2 classes externally, the scrollbar and scrollbox movieClips are linked to these classes in properties.Now it scrolls when I test the fla,but it fails to scroll when I test the whole website.

I am loading a different external SWF into each one using Load External SWF behavior.Although each SWF is a different file, they are exact copies of each other (have exact same functionality); all 3 are text boxes with both scrollbar scrolling and mousewheel scrolling.Problem is, when on the stage at the same time, they all three respond to mousewheel scroll at the same time. I need them each to respond to users' mousewheel scroll only if the mouse is over the respective area (so that way they don't all scroll at the same time).The file was developed for me and the developer is not available at this time.

I wrote a short AS program to create a tileList and it functions fine, but I need to be able to scroll the list of pics according to the position of the mouse with out actually moving the scroll bar.... example of what I mean: the farther to the right mouseX is on stage, the faster my tileList scrolls to the right, if mouseX moves to the left of the stage, so does the scroll bar...Here`s my code so far:

View 3 RepliesI've gotten to chapter 5 in my AS 3.0 classroom book but I need to use wisdom today (CHAPTERS before I gain it for myself),I need to create a custom scroll bar with buttons that function just like the UIScrollBar but more visually suited to our projects. the boss demands it.
I found several tutorials on creating the custom scrollBar, however, they don't include the buttons and I'm unable to find a tutorial on how to create a button scroller (I figured I could link them both to my "info_txt" after creating them separately).

I located the following Actionscript 3.0 Class which performs the task of horizontally scrolling a picture in a continuous loop. Once it reaches the end of the picture, it then immediately starts over from the beginning of the picture. I am interested in making it so the picture fades in, scroll horizontally and then when it reachs the end of the picture, it fades out... It would then fade back in after a period of time and begin the process again of scrolling horizontally... Continuous loop. adding those features to this Actionscript 3.0 Class?

scroll pane loads scroll bars for the movie clip as soon as it loads the movie clip, so there is no scroll bars the movies height and width are one, but after its loaded it changes its size to bigger than the scroll pane, but the scroll bars dont show up because of the size of the movie clip when it was first loaded, can anyone help?

As the scroll pane fills up, it gets wider to accomodate the thumbnailsThere is one row, and eventually, I want to have the user be able to mouse left or right and have the scroll pane scroll, versus clicking on the bar or the left/right arrows.
