ActionScript 3.0 :: Rotation In 3d Is Skewed To One Side

When i rotate an object in 3d along the x or y axis it becomes skewed based on where the container movieclip is from the screen. Is there a way to fix it so that the movieclip rotated is always even on both sides?
I have a movie clip which has two frames. On the first frame I have the front side and on the second I have the back. I am rotating the MovieClip by rotationX, rotationY, rotationZ properties.I want to display the frame 2 when the MovieClip rotates. Please help. I dont want to use PaperVision class. Also, please consider the Perspective View of the scene.Sometimes, the MovieClip might not only be dependent on rotation. It is also equally dependent on the position (only in Perspective View).
I have a AS2 header that loads some obnoxious sound on the initial load. I created a simple AS3 container that loads and mutes the sound - which works as expected. However, now the displayed swf is smaller than the original. Basically all I am wanting to do is mute the original without changing any of the dimensions.here is the code in question:
I have an isometric board. On some of these tiles there are textfields which are skewed so that the text runs parallel to the sides of the tiles. The user can zoom out giving a wider view of the board. This is done by scaling the parent tile to about 0.5 of the original size. When doing this at a certain threshold the text will no longer be parallel to the sides of the tile and will look as if the text pop's up. Does anyone have any ideas of what causes this.
I'm trying to write a function that'll take a set of results, assign a probability to each result, and then pick one result at random, according to its probability.I thought I'd calculate the area under sections of a basic parabolic function (y = x^2) to generate the skewed probabilities.
Because of the nature of this curve, the amount of skew is determined by the range of the parabola used, as x tends to zero, the gradient tends to zero, so using 0 - 0.001 would be only slightly skewed. As x tends to infinity, the gradient tends to inifinity, so using values 0 - 100 the probabilities would be heavily skewed.to recap then, my function would be passed a skew factor, essentially the upper limit of the parabolic graph to use. All I need do is divide the whole range into equal sections according to the number of values and determine the definite integral for each range of the parabola assigned to each of the possible values. Make sense? Good.
and it kinda worked. It produced a set of probabilities which looked like they fell in line with a simple parabola.My problem is that no matter what skew value (i.e. max range) I pass in, it produces exactly the same results and I'm not sure if my maths is wrong, my theory on the nature of the curve is wrong or if my code is wrong.
I've been working on an FXG Editor, and I'm using the the senocular transform tool to move, rotate, scale and skew an object.
Is it possible to detect if the the Display object has been skewed just from inspecting the matrix of that DisplayObject? even if said object has been move, scaled and rotated as well.
I want to only serialize the matrix of an object to FXG if has been skewed and not if it has just been rotated, moved, or scaled.
I want to download files from the server side to client side without prompting a window to the user to download when any updates happen at server side.Right now I am using urlstream class but first file is downloading completely rest of the files contents downloading partially.

I have a movieclip and when I do 3D rotation from Transform panel, It rotates perfect, center is in the middle of image, and when I apply mc.rotationY, rotation center is in left of the image, aren't 3D rotation from Transform panel and mc.rotationY from AS same? what's up?
I'm trying to do some augmented reality projects with flartoolkit . I can now put simple 3d objects on my marker and it works fine , but I wanna give my project some events that the user can interact with. I'm trying to trace the rotation of the marker. there's a container:DisplayObject3D which my application uses to add the 3d objects , I traced this :"trace(container.rotationZ)" but it's just returning 0 . Is it possible to have the child movieclip rotate separate of the rotation properties assigned to the parent? so ultimately giving the child element it's own axis?I've customized Lee Brimelows (gotoandlearn.com) 3D carousel to spin on the x axis to make it a vertical carousel. I've also rotated that by 45 degrees on the y axis to see all the items, and wrote a snippet of code to hide the left portion of the carousel. The entire carousel is contained within the 'container' movieclip, and inside of that are my carousel items (as seen below), with the larger item being the item in focus.
On rollover of the item in focus, I want to rotate it so it faces the viewer (as seen below),basically removing the 45 degree rotation applied to the container.The problem i'm running into is when you rotate the container (changing the rotationX of the container), the axis basically rotates with it, so when i rollover the next item 'in focus', the following happens..(in the example where it appears how it want it to, the carousel is at a rotationX of 0, so it works fine)
Im in need of a simple code which makes a MovieClip move side to side horizontally preferably using the attachMovie function.The MovieClip must not go off the screen so the movement will have to be limited within the stage size.

I want to create an application that has these features
- At client side: Display a list of images, when user click on one image, data will be stored in MySQL database.
- At server side: Manage images used in client side, I can delete, add new images.
Is this possible for me to achieve this using Flex? And if it is able, will my output be 2 separate SWF files? And where can I find the materials to read on writing such applications?
i have to sanp images into tile or grid form. but my images are in 4 different sizes in height/width. i have to place all images in side by side like tiling.
Program A has a cannon that aims to line up with where-ever the mouse is pointing, in 360 degrees, and fires when the mouse is is clicked. Program B has an eye instead of a cannon that should in theory do similar functions when the capslock key is toggled, but instead only has a 90 degree range of motion from the Right of the eye toward the bottom (quadrant 4 only). Where did the ther 270 degrees of rotation disappear to?

I am on a tight deadline and looking for the AS3 code of how to do what this company does on their site:URL...However, I don't know AS3.Literally my project requires I recreate the what is shown with the hand holding the sharpie and moving only back and forth restricted to a centered rectangular area at the bottom of the screen.I know how to import the image that follows the mouse to the stage, and to make it a movieclip. Let's say I have named the instance "Image_mc".Does anyone have the actionscript for how to do this? Do you attach it to the object or to a keyframe on a separate actions layer?
How would I be able to create a scene where you scroll left to right using the mouse, but instead of having it at a constant rate and having the picture (background) move when your mouse is at a certain x coordinate to have it be that when you move the mouse away from an object the background will move, and will move faster the farther away the mouse is? I have tried scrolling back and forth with x coordinates, but I haven't been able to get this to work.

This was super easy using AS2. I had 2 'loader' movie clips placed on the stage and simply used the loadmovie to bring up the external swfs. How would i accomplish this using AS3? I simply need one movie to display on one side of the stage, and another on the other side of the stage. do i still use these 'loader' movie clips?

User interacts with Adobe flex webpage to configure reports based on some data stored server side. They configure their view and have THAT view emailed to them daily. I've got the report builder, the part I'm trying to figure out is how to render the report server side and send it out as email (native flex functionality? convert to html? take screenshot? assume something is running client side?...)
I am writing a thesis and have been able to place all my frameworks under two categories (client-side frameworks and server-side frameworks), but I can't seem to finf where to place Adobe Flex...In which category should I place this or should I place it in some separate catgeory?
I have a stage on the iPhone Project in AS3/CS5, where I want two buttons to appear side by side with say 5 pixels between each button. It's the standard iPhone stage, 320x480. I can position them vertically fine, but side by side, the second button overlaps the first.
The first button, [Twitter], begins at position 10, and is painted out to 200 pixels from the right side of the stage. that is 190 pixels wide.I want the second button to begin 200 out from the left, and be painted for hmmmm 190 pixels. Too wide. Ok, adjust button widths. but you see what I mean I hope. It's probably something simple, but I can't just see it.
So really the question is, how do I get the second button to start at a position 5 pixels after the first one ends? I'll probably have to adjust the button widths so they both fit, but that's ok, so long as they are aligned left, and say 5 pixels apart[code]...
I am making an app where people upload a bunch of images and it thumbnails them and saves them to the server. Is it better to create thumbnails from the uploaded images, or to upload them to the server then re-download the thumbnails?
I am trying to get some words from xml and put them an the stage side by side in the center of the stage. I achieved this by the code below. I auto resize textfield according to text inside. But this time there comes space between words. What I accomplish is to have autoresized and adjacent words without space between them.
i have 2 arrays (both with same length), and i need to display them like this:[code]array1 has codes and array2 says if they are enable or disable in html i would solve the problem easily with a for loop and a table, but in flash i really don't know how to do this.and, there is any way to change the color of the word 'disable' to red and 'enable' to green?
