ActionScript 3.0 :: Viewer Text Input In Multiple Columns?

I'd like to set up a 2 column, multi-row text box where a user/viewer could input text strings in and upon completion the text could be sent off, retaining its columns/rows, via email. This is on a page where clients can see a window dub of their videos and use one column to enter a timecode number(i.e. 1;03;25;23 or just 24;25) and the next to make comments.
I was thinking of two text input boxes- side by side, and then using some sort of dynamic arrays to create/push new input text boxes after a hard return is entered, but I can see all sorts of problems with that...
And I'm not sure if a data grid box component even accepts input text or whether a table would work etc. So I was wondering if you folks out there might have an idea as to the best approach for me to at least start researching or a on-point tutorial that covers this situation, etc.

I have created a form based on this tutorial by senocular: [URL]..The ide is to create input text fields on a site where a viewer can write his/her name and email address and then press "send". When the send button is pressed an email will be sent to my own email account.
My problem is that the email is supposed to contain only a name and an email address which the user wrote in the form.

I'm guessing it is because I use CSS to set the format on the input text fields. How can I solve this problem?

I have a single text field that attaches numerous lines of text. Because each line has an individual hyperlink, I'm using += and a for loop to append the next line. Here's the problem... When the text reaches the bottom it keeps going past the viewable area instead of becoming a new column - obviously by default. I know I can use scroll bars and all that mumbo jumbo, but having several columns is the way the client wants it.

I have 5 text files that contain a list of 50 items in each file.
I want to bring that information into a datagrid; 1 column per text file. I'd also like to extend the code to add more columns when new files are created.
I was able to bring in one column, but maybe an approach with xml, an xml connector and dataset would be better.

I am attempting to clear text input fields on click and I can't seem to figure out what is going wrong with my coding.[code]...
But when I did, now every time I click the Name input field the Email input field clears as well and vice versa.

I have a stage where users can select a text tool (button) and then click inside a canvas area. If they select the text tool and then click inside the canvas I would like an input field to appear where they can start typing a message.It needs to have the ability to add multiple text input fields to the stage/canvas.I am building the app in CS3 with AS2.

I'm working in Flash Builder and Catalyst CS5 building a project that will aid technicians in finding policies and tools easily. One area that I want to focus on is the note taking section. I want the user to beable to input text and then have a "Copy Notes to Clipboard" button that will gather all the data from those input fields and store them in theclipboard. This way all the agent has to do is paste into the note section on their service ticket.The following is an example of the fields that it would require.Name:Phone Number:Issue:Symptoms:Troubleshooting Notes: also want the label for the text field to be included within the notes. I have multiple datagrids with about 10-15 columns total. I have a numeric sortCompareFunction for each column. At the moment, I have a separate function for each sort compare I do....each does the sorting numerically. I'm guessing I could condense functions sort1, sort2, sort3, etc into 1 function but I can't figure out how:

I have this code that I've used before to dynamically attach a movieclip to create one long list of movieclips, however for a design I'm working on I need to be able to create multiple columns of 4 (configurable) items so the 5th items get's a new _x position, and starts over calculating the _y position.

I'm trying to create a Flex DataGrid where the firstname and lastname are shown under each other, but in the DataGridColumn
Ideally I would want to do something like

I want to save remotely (on a database) the state (visible columns, columns width and order) of a Flex3 DataGrid.For width and visibility I can simply save them by accessing each column attribute.. But for the order? Do I have to create the dataGrid dynamically?

I have an issue with font scaling of a dynamic text box.
Currently i have one input box named input_1 with a variable attached to it named "choc_1".
Also, i have a dynamic text box named dynamic_1 with variable "choc_1".
When the user types something on the input box then the dynamic box changes instantly and displays what the user has written.
auto scale-size the fonts to a smaller size if the user types many letters.
The input_1 box has a 13 character limit. My initial font size is 200, i want to scale down so when the user types 10 letters they fit the box and they don't go out of screen. I want to use one line, so wrap or multiline is not possible.

the last of many problems, is that at the very end of the test, you're shown your score, and you have the option to type your name in a text box and click "save". Doing so will apply you score data (time elapsed, date, correct answers and percentage) along with the name you typed in, and output in a form, that you can save or print off, or whatever. The problem is, the input text box will not let you type in it. If you mouse over it, the mouse stays a pointer, you don't get the text tool. If you click on it, the cursor appears for a split second after you release the mouse button, but you cannot type anything in it.This is the actionscript for the output form:

does anyone know if you can load text from an external textfile into two columns, going to the second when the first is filled??
I only found this (okay, three columns, but I mean the text here is not externally loaded)

I have a spark Datagrid with lot of columns. The problem is that if i have a long text in a cell, then the text goes over other columns. I want the text to stay in it cell, if it longer than the columns width, then the text to be truncated somehow.

In my text field, I am looking to create a half return, so if I want space between two paragraphs, I don't have to use an empty return each time. Kind of like p padding in css. I also want to create a tab order in my text field, for better alignment of information. I am looking to create the look of two columns, where I have a date with a paragraph associated with it, with the paragraph being more then one line of the date, but staying indented. Lastly, and I am assuming this is a given, I would like the text to come from a xml or html file.!!!

I'd like to be able to just add text to the external file and the text to be rearranged automatically in the columns. I have 2 keyframes on my timeline.The first keyframe has an input text field (instance name: inputTxt) and a button (instance name: btnTester).When the user clicks the button it takes them to the second keyframe where their text should be displayed in a dynamic text box (instance name: txtBox).I get a null value in keyframe 2.

i created an input text box that puts the users input into a global variable, but when i test it it gives me not only what i have typed in but all the html formatting for the font that my input text box has on it.I only want the text that i have typed in to go into the variable but the wackload of html is going in there too. ive tried a few different things, rewriting my code, recreating the text box, changing settings, dont know what im missing.

I'm trying to build a fahrenheit to celsius convertor in AS3. How can I test to see whether what is input into a text input box (flash component) is not a number? This isn't correct but you can get an idea of what i'm trying to do:
