ActionScript 3.0 :: Calendar Class With Updating Events Based?

I have built a class based on a calendar script found here on this forum. I have modified the script to work in a class and expanded on the calendar by checking each day of the month against a database to see if there are events on that day. (if there is an event, the day movie clip goes to another frame to highlight said day)Everything works great.. at first glance. The first time the calendar loads, all the days are properly in place and the Event.ADDED_TO_STAGES runs correctly, highlighting the dates with events.
The problem occurs when the user changes the month. Everything again works the way it should except for the Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE. This event only runs for each day the first time the calendar is loaded.

I've developed a Version 2 Events Calendar component that will accept multiple, non-continuous days (which the DateChooser component does not do).
in particular I'd like to thank the following people, without whom this project would never have been completed. i'm indebted to you all
activity.xml is where you put the dates in. open up the file and you'll see how i did it. i marked the dates i wanted highlighted and then put in the url where you get taken when you click on that date.

ExtendedDateChooser class is great solution for simple event calendar used in my flex project. You can find it if google for "Adding-Calendar-Event-Entries-to-the-Flex-DateChooser-Component" with a link of updated solution in comments of the post. I posted files below. Problem in that calendar is text events are missing when month is changed. Is there updateCompleted event in Actionscript just like in dateChooser flex component? Like in:

The AS2 DateChooser has just the functionality I need to build the events calendar that I have to build .. however .. while I know what to do in theory, I'm stumbling on (a) whether it will work and (b) syntax.
I want to display an instance of the DateChooser (myDate) and access the selectedDate property when the user selects a date. Then I need to pass it to the main events page preferably on the same page with something like this:
SELECT EventTitle. EventDescription, EventLink FROM Events
WHERE EventDate = MMColParam
MMColParam 1 myDate.selectedDate
The page itself is ASP. I am thinking I would probably define a variable and perhaps use LoadVars to load the selected date from Flash .. not something I have done before.
Perhsps something like
dim eventDate
eventDate = myDate.selectedDate
I'm sure that's not the syntax .. but I think that is the theory. I should be able to access the selectedDate property of the Date Chooser instance and feed the date into the query to select the events on that date and list them.

I am very new to Flash. I am currently putting together a flash based advent calendar but coming stuck on a code which keeps throwing back a syntax error. The code I have input is

Which runs a movie clip when you click on a box.

i am puttin together a calendar in flash, as it is ending up on a windows server in ASP, so the lovely PHP calendars wont work. I have been using the code from:[url]to get the months and days working, and have todays date highlighted. Now i need to work out a way that i can set this up to call a flash movie onto a higher level which contains the events of the day you click on. Such as: Because the dates are determined and inserted via AS, im not sure how to set this up, or if it is even possible...

I'm new to Flex and am having trouble understanding Events. I think Events are what I want to use for my situation. I have 2 components, addUser.mxml and listUsers.mxml. I access these from a ViewStack in my main application. When I load listUsers.mxml it shows a list of current users in a datagrid via a HTTPService call. When I add a user using the form on addUser.mxml I would like the datagrid in listUsers.mxml to refresh when I return to that view to show the new user. I've tried several different things with addEventListener and dispatchEvent but can't seem to get it working. Can someone help me with this logic?

I'm having trouble pulling & updating information based on an XML file.Each node contains a couple text items and a date. When the date arrives and gets to 00:00:00:00, the next XML node should be called.What would be the best way to store each node so that based on a timer reset (or something to that effect), it would pull the next node until that specified date and then pull the next set of info until the end of the nodes?

I would like to know if there is a way to create a calendar page on my site that will display the free Google Calendar? I have embedded code in a Myspace site before and it worked well, but have no experience with the IFrame code that Google Calendar uses. fyi- I just bought Flash a month ago and have been editing a template that I purchased to be my new website.

I have a calendar-class and I want to see if there is a post in my database for any of the dates. I was thinking a nested loop, the first one loops through the dates of the month and the nested one compares variables with the date.
Ex.

I was wondering if it was possible to make a small script in Jquery that would change an image at a certain time. For my site, I want the image for the opening and closing of a facility to change when it opens and closes. Is this possible with Jquery or should I go with something else? Actionscript/Flash? like a lot of people on this forum i am having trouble with an MP3 Player. I have my music player, playing, stopping and going to next and previous. But i am now trying to display the time of how long its been playing for. I have a model class (containing the soundchannel, sound and timer) which has a songsModel class (an extension of model, which contains and update method)
I also have a controller class, which is in control of the people pushing the buttons from the songController class. The controller class plays the soundchannel and starts a timer. i have a songsController class which uses the constructor of the model class as a superclass. This class is controlling users pushing buttons. My other class is a view class, which waits for the model to update itself so that it can display the latest songs.
My problem is i cannot figure out how to pass through the timer to the view class for its latest update (every half second). I have managed to display it ever time the model updates as discussed above.

I have a main class which listens for an event dispatched from another class say class A. Also there are other classes say class B, class C etc.There is a controller class.Classes B, C dispatches events that gets listened by the controller and works well.But the events dispatched by the Class A doesn't get listened by the main class.What might be the problem. Detailed Explanation of the problem.There is a main mxml file.
Class files are in:
ProcessInput.as
DBController.as
ShortMemDB.as ....etc
The main mxml file gets the input from a textArea. Sends the input to the capturedInput (input:String) function using set method which is in the ProcessInput Class.Now I need to dispatch events NORMAL, COMMAND depending on the input obtained after the processing, where I'm having problems. The reason is that if the event NORMAL is dispatched a particular function inside the DBController is to be called. If COMMAND event is dispatched then I need to call another function. This idea doesn't work since the events doesn't get listened.But the events dispatched by the CSDB class when listened by the DBController works well.

I think this is a pretty simply problem but I do not seem to be able to pull it off. Basically I have a parent class A, and a child class B.Class A instantiates class B with addChild.There is a shared object which is being updated from a java server (red5) that has an event listener attached to it in class A.I have a function in class A which will pass certain, specific updates from this shared object to class B.The problem occurs is that when class B is instantiated, the event listener from class A doesn't work anymore. I have not removed the event listener from A.?

Is there a way to generate an instance of a class that implements an interface based on the name of the class?
I am trying:

I have several classes that implement the same interface (IMovement) but I need to be able to generate new instances of these classes and then pass these instances as a datatype (IMovement datatype) to other classes...
So then I tried:

My FLA has a class instantiated in it and I can call the public functions in that class no problem. What does not seem to work, is to dispatch an event in the FLA and the class to register it. Is that how it is? Seems that from inside the class outward is no problem. So, from child to parent, works, but not the other way around. The event that I am dispatching on the FLA timeline looks like this:

So I've created a custom class which makes use of a Sound object. The Sound object loads a sound from a URL, and I attach and event listener to it to see it when it finishes loading i.e. Event.Complete
MY question is this: how do I receive this event outside of the class? For instance, I want to be able to create an instance of my class somewhere else, load a sound and attach an event listener to my custom class that listens for the event thrown by the sound. Understandably, I don't want to make the sound object a public variable.

I have a model which manages all of my data (DataManager)
I have a series of view classes, which manage stage instances.
I would like my view classes to listen for custom events within my DataManager class. So, for example, when all of my data files are loaded, I would like to have a custom event dispatch. All of my views will have listeners within them, waiting for events from the DataManager to trigger functions within.[code]...
